Ceramic vs. Teflon
When shopping for nonstick cookware, one of the first things you need to do is decide what type of nonstick coating you want. Some brands are very up front about what their coating is made from, and some are less up front. Companies try to come up with catchy names for their coatings, but it’s just marketing. All nonstick cookware currently widely available falls into one of two categories: ceramic, and PTFE. PTFE is commonly referred to as the brand name Teflon. When comparing ceramic vs. Teflon, there are many factors to consider. Let’s start with an overview of each type.
Ceramic cookware
Ceramic is a newer material in the world of nonstick cookware. It’s widely considered to be the safest and most environmentally friendly option. Ceramic is free of PTFE and PFOA (more on PTFE and PFOA below). Ceramic coatings come in a wide variety of styles and colors.

18 Apr 17#24
Can't find much information - but there's an ebay link selling them for £65, and someone on gumtree selling them for £50 saying that they were £80 on tesco's website.
Who cares?
This is a good price for a 6-pan set. As for the reduction - reductions are often against a full price which has been set high just to show a big reduction - think of all those 'half price' sales on furniture that are always on the TV.

At less than £14 per pan, it's maybe believable - wouldn't pay that for these though. However at £3-£4 each, it's worth a punt!

One of the links above shows the box they come in - lids and all. £80 price tag seems to be before March 5th, so not that long ago.

Can anyone confirm if these are in fact non-stick as the Tesco website says they aren't but then I notice some people say they have mixed up the description? If these were really £80 I would definitely expect them to be....

If the ceramic on these pans is anything like the ceramic on Russell Hobbs pans i've had in the last couple of years they won't be non-stick for long you'll be chucking them out faster than you can click and collect

I ordered some of these a few days ago. My mother bought some recently and was very impressed.
Lids? Yes, I think you get 3 lids.
She said the ceramic coating has been great so far, done scrambled eggs without oil, no problem. Hope the coating lasts a while.

Ceramic is tricky. It can't be too hot, and may need to be lightly scrubbed with bicarb.

Very tempted by this, is a great price. Anyone had these (or similar ceramic pans) before able to comment on the non-stick quality would be very much appreciated. I know they are only cheap but if they aren't non-stick (as the website states) or is very poor, they are going to be more hassle than they are worth....

If you'd started off by saying "I used to have this set of pans..."
Personally, it sounds like you're talking out your Rs (or sour grapes, as it's OOS) - if you read the previous comments others have found this set selling for £50-80. If they are induction (website states 'all hob types') then this is a fantastic deal. Worth a punt at £20 - If they're rubbish, I'll be sending them back.

Ooh, so my degree in Law really shows I was rubbish at school. I took notice of the comments from people who have actually used these and the overwhelming view is that they are pretty good quality and cook well. Enjoy using your £100 plus pans and feeling soooo superior to the rest of us!
just opened box, haven't used yet but so far quite happy, anyone tried cooking with them yet, I'm after something easy to clean after cooking scrambled eggs and such

Have to agree, definitely a bargain at £20, would be OK for £40, but not worth the original £80 asking price. Good weight to all the pans, though the casserole seems a bit thin, and the lids are not a particularly snug fit (yes lids included). All in all very happy.

Picked up mine today, seems a good set, will see how they fare but for 13,50 (i had some vouchers) they seem nice, using wooden utensils so will see, gotta be better than the 3 non stick ones I've bought that are no longer non sick bar one and I paid about 20 quid for that.
