A handy thing to have around the house, comes in various forms, be it a bottle or sachets. keep it in the kitchen but can also be used for sunburn.
Certainly handy if you have a catering business and live in the kitchen.
Thanks for this, I didn't even know this sort of gel existed but now I've ordered some in for just such an emergency.

Think with the course its easier to say dont put anything on it than have people try to remember what they can and cant use.

With a burn you want to remove heat immediately with cold water.
Putting anything like sudocream etc on straight away traps heat in the tissue and can cause deeper tissue damage and worsen the burn.
Should only ever use creams after burn no longer feels warm, sunburn included.
These gels work by transfering heat from the burn and disapating it the same way running under a tap would do.
Running under tap is always more effective but a gel can be used afterwards or if no water available.
At my previous work we had water gel blankets to wrap someone incase of serious burns.

Under the tap and/or use a bag of frozen something when you're done with the tap.
First aid courses don't recommend any burn gels or creams. Just run it under the cold tap for 10 minutes+. If it's a really big one you can wrap it in cling film to help prevent infection and get to a doctor.

That's right. After sitting my 3 day first aid course I thought I would purchase the St John first aid kit, and to my surprise, it contained burns cream though we had just been told not to use any...

This stuff is amazing. At a fiver a bottle everyone should have some. One for the kitchen, one for the car, one for the workplace.
