I dont think the majority of parents really need a thermometer. A temperature doesn't tell you if someone is well or unwell (serious). Doctor's/medical staff use it as part of a building a picture of their current state. I can think of only a handful of specific times it would be really beneficial to have at home.

You need to be very careful sticking things in your ears, much better and safer to purchase the type that you insert into your rectum. Also much more pleasurable.

Thanks op, The reviews are good but not too sure about the build quality I bought another one of the same brand and dropped it by mistake and it stopped working .. So I am a bit wary of their build quality .. But a good deal for sure

I got one of these when I had twins, they are now six. Never used it yet. My view is that you only need it when somene is ill. I can tell when they are ill and how ill just by looking at them and feeling how hot/cold their forehead is. I'm sure some people use these and love them, but I just dont see the need.

your fairly right. but if that was the case then the NHS would stop using them too and just feel your head. I guess they only come into their own when you need to gauge how hot someone is and with children that's all the more important .
