This deal has not been posted up at John Lewis, and deals for this item have not been posted up every day.
Do you have some sort of issue with people posting deals on a DEAL site ?
Bizarre how some folk take a dislike people trying to help others out.

And how much cash back can you get ? As no offence but it would have to be a shed load for me to buy from them,as IMO/past experiences, their customer service is shocking.

For people looking for good sounding and branded alternatives then the UE Boom (1st gen) and JBL Flip 3/4 are serious contenders as they have very balanced sound and waterproofing (which is always useful, especially for the guy asking about taking to a festival).

If you're looking for a quality bluetooth speaker to take around the house or garden then this ticks all the box's. Good range.Easy to pair. Quality sound . 9 hours battery life. No distortion of sound at high volume. You wouldn't want to listen at full volume - unless you hate the neighbours. Good name - good price. Had mine for 6 weeks and I'm delighted to have a portable speaker that's worth listening to.

Yes these get quite loud and the battery lasts quite a long time at high volumes which is more than what I can say for the B&O Play A2 which sounds amazing but the battery is terrible at 1-2 hours at high volumes!
LozBlake15
15 May 17#49
I'm not sure what your definition of loud is, but I bought one of these for Download festival coming up (so volume is a primary concern), and when I did a test run I was happy with the volume. At full volume I have to raise my voice to hold a conversation in the same room, don't know if that helps at all.

This is better built (all metal) and better sounding than the Anker.

It's also supposed to have one or two extra bits - the mic so you can take a call on the speaker unlike the colour 1. Oh, if I find a promo code for John Lewis or very, I want to go for colour 2 instead of colour 1. 65£ for colour 1 is a good price too...

The Bose outlet shop in swindon matched the John Lewis price of £64.95 without any fuss this morning. True, didn't get a voucher like you would at Argos, but at least they had the red one too.

I'm after a Bluetooth speaker for the kitchen where it will always remain plugged in so portability isn't required. Simply put what is the best sounding speaker for sub £70?

There's a new waterproof Soundlink on its way I assume to replace the present model which means a jump in price to a £129 rrp (ouch!)
As far as Bose spyware given you mostly need to steam music from an Android or Apple device to get the most out of them what about Google's or Apple's own spyware?

The wording in the guarantee is for EU - maybe it'll be one year after all ;-)
All said just responding to some of the other comments above:
1. JL customer service is up there as we all know
2. if the battery fails after two years, apparently it's a readily available cell used in laptop batteries, so if you're a dab-hand with a bit of soldering it can be fixed easily enough
3. if you have a nationwide account, I do believe all puchases are extended by a year max 3 years (please do correct me on this someone if I'm wrong - I also think you don't actually have to use that card for the purchase!)
4. don't install the Bose software because of the spyware - it's a pretty simple device, you don't need any additional software to use it
5. there're plenty of other options, pay your money and take your choice: personally I find the two simultaneous paired devices very useful and the quality of the sound to be superb even if there are cheaper options
I have the Bose Sounddock XT - is it worth getting this instead?
Crossbow to tom_g
30 Apr 17#35
I've a feeling the Sounddock will have better sound than this - your dock looks over twice the size.
However, this is very portable as it contains a rechargeable battery - so, once charged, it doesn't need to be plugged into the electricity mains at all times (for example, can be taken on a picnic where there's no mains supply).
Also, this can play music wirelessly via Bluetooth (BT) from any BT source/device (not just Apple ones).
to be fair this is the first time this speaker has been put on a HUKD deal at this price and with 2 year gurantee
*edit maybe it comes with 2 years warranty as standard after-alll...

Yes I've seen the reviews on there before, and they are not good at all.But I can only go by my personal experience and family members, and I can't rate them highly enough.
Couple of examples.
Purchased a new large TV,got it home and it was faulty, took it back and had a bit of a wait to get seen to,manager of the department gave me £100 off any large TV of my choice for the inconvenience.
Purchased an iPad,a few days after purchase a fault developed, contacted customer services who said to return it to my nearest store,I explained that would cost me a fair bit in fuel as my car is pretty expensive to run, they then offered to pay me my fuel cost.Which when I arrived at the store, that's just what they did.

I've not said anything at all about people saying they don't like the speaker and I don't have a problem with people comparing it against other models. But I will point out when someone is comparing 2 models and none are the deal model, when someone makes out that a deal is posted every day, when it's not and will point out that I don't think a tiny amount of cash back is not worth the poor customer service you may get from currys.
And no I don't have a problem if you want to link to a better speaker, but at least give a reason to why it's better so others can gain any knowledge of the product

I've been having a good ol look into the mid priced Speakers and I think the new JBL FLIP 4 does the job nicely after looking at plenty of reviews on youtube. PLUS if your happy to buy off Ebay there's 100's of new sealed ones on there due to the fact O2 were giving them away with the S8 phones. £60 - £70 seems the going rate.
