I wouldn't try to minimise the seriousness but these are the dates (from BEKO websites):
"The Beko frost free fridge freezer models affected were manufactured between January 2000 and October 2006"
"a small number of incidents involving our 6kg & 7kg Condenser Tumble Dryers manufactured between May 2012 and October 2012"

Two and a half years ago is not what I would call a long, long time ago and it is not about the reliability of a product rather how they ignored warnings from the London Fire Brigade and several coroners, if memory serves there were at least a dozen serious fires before Beko even admitted there was a problem and then they took nearly 3 years to deal with it.

Given how Beko responded to the whole fridge/freezer fire debacle by burring their heads in the sand (or out right lying) while people lost their homes and sadly even loved ones, you're either brave or stupid buying anything from Beko that involves water and electricity.
