I know there were a few deals around this price a few weeks back, but prices seem to have shot up again. £220 on Amazon.
Free p&p - ordered mine Thursday morning and it arrived today (weirdly).
No cashback sites or discount codes that I could find.

From a post on another RX480 by a fellow HUKDer. Reading up there's a lot on the web about the card not getting sufficient power in order to meet the manufacturers rated power draw - this seems to have fixed it. Had a few hours on GTAV, Shadow of Mordor etc with no probs, temps stay below 80c.

Interesting. How did you know to do this?

I bought one of these from a another deal. It would regularly lock up under load. Asus did not reply. The vendor told me there was a batch fault with many of these cards and gave me a refund.

I had the same issue - went into Wattman and increased power by 25%. Worked flawlessly with the latest drivers since. Worried me at first but very happy now!

That's a good price but I am going to wait until the 500 series launch on tuesday in the hope of a better price, might not happen though. We did have the 4 GB version of this card for under £150 last month so that was what I was hoping for.

I doubt they're going to be this cheap at all. These are fire sales, with retailers trying to get rid of stock and recoup what costs they can on these cards before they are replaced by the 500 series. Expect an 8GB 580 to be back up around £220-230 or so.
These will probably be a very good buy. Much like the people who got R9 290's on the cheap before the 390 replaced it and the price went back up.
I mean, for one, CPU's for desktop PC's will still be ahead, meaning hitting higher framerates is easier on PC. As for the GPU, a 580 will be similar on-paper to the Scorpio, but the GPU in the Scorpio also has a 384-bit bus and will be better at pushing higher resolutions. This far into the generation, developers will generally be better at developing for AMD's architecture too, so 'console optimization' comes into play. If you want to properly stay ahead of Scorpio, I'd suggest a 1070 or wait for Vega.
Not sure why you're so preoccupied with consoles, anyways. Get what is good for what you want and/or need.

I wouldn't bother. It'll be the same GPU and the same VRAM with a negligible clock boost for a significantly higher price tag.

1340mhz boost clock versus the 1266 of the current RX480. Meaning RX 580 will be a 6 teraflop GPU and have hardware performance nigh on the same as Scorpio's GPU.

Since the xbox scorpio's GPU is nearly the same level as the 480, it's made me wonder should i still get this card as i want to be ahead of consoles

The one at Amazon is in my basket, but will hang on for those series 500 cards to see how compatible they are with the Mac Pro series first. If nothing else, the newer cards should have the knock on effect of dropping the series 400 cards prices in time.

That's kinda what I'm waiting for, but if I see a good deal I'll probably go for it

Good price, I'm looking for a deal on the 4 gb version but all the prices seem to be climbing for some reason

I think they have a refresh of these cards coming later in the month. I'd wait for them, they'll be a bit better, around the same price, and prices of the 4xx cards will drop
