£5 plan is 100MB (2.1GB til June) 100 mins, 2000 texts. Aren't you better of with ID mobile £5 plan 1.5GB (after June aswell) 250 minutes and 5000 texts.

I prefer 3 PAYG, 3p min, 2p a text, 1p mb, £5 lasts me a month mostly more.

That's good for you, but at 1p a MB how much is that 2GB of data going to cost you? And that's presuming you don't make calls or send texts! Unfair comparison tbh.

Pain in the Ass. They keep sending text remining me of phone credit. Three times day one. One just after midnight. Then next day three times in one hour. They say they cant turn them off they are automatic. This is just harrasment.

same network "EE" slightly less data but i use wifi as so many stores offer free wifi, and my home phone is BT so get access to their wifi (bit patchy) I haven't tried this service but looking around for a good deal.
and £15 for unlimited calls texts, and 4GB of data looks quite good

Thanks for mentioning that. I'm considering the PlusNet mobile 1GB, 250 mins, 500 text for £5, but will compare to ID mobile.
If anyone has experience of TalkTalk mobile and/or PlusNet mobile and would mind taking a look at my post here I'd appreciate it.

So, for anyone who takes this before June - the extra data ends come June? I originally read it that you would keep the extra data indefinitely as long as you took it out before June. Help! <3

Moved to PlusNet 2 months ago on the £5 1gb 250mins 500text deal. No issues. Number ported from O2 without any problems on the day specified in their email. Kept up to date throughout process from buying the sim, to when the sim was despatch, to when the sim would be activated, to having the number ported. Was really impressed with them. Customer service was brilliant when I rang to have the cap limited to just £2 as it's my son's phone. Can't recommend them enough.

This is a fairly unique feature of Asda Mobile - the Starter For 10 - when you order a SIM from them.
Excellent for "glovebox" phones, etc.

1. Plusnet are fine. Have 2 sims (previously Life Mobile). Not had any issues & customer service hasn't been as bad for me as some have reported.
2. TalkTalk... been with them 4 years only because its dirt cheap for me due to retention deals. They used Vodafone
I've decided to leave & accept I will have to pay more. Just not good enough.

It depends where you live and travel but there's plenty of weak 3g coverage, just look at their map. Anywhere light pink is outdoors only, i.e. patchy
EE have far better coverage because they have 2g and a much larger 4g allocation of the spectrum

Why do you need 2G? Plenty of 3G/HSDPA where there's no 4G.

Just to confirm, the 2GB still applies even after June right? So long as the sim is bought and activated before the offer ends?

Unfortunately it doesn't look like it, seems to be a bonus for each tariff (the £5 is normally 100MB). Here's some info from their site... Get 2GB of free data every 30 days!

Been with Plusnet £10 deal for a year and contacted them today via web chat to move to their £5 tariff (1GB 250 mins & 500 txt) which took about 5 mins. I was told my new 4g sim would be here tomorrow. They have been great so far.

Plusnet fine been with life now plusnet for a year or so. Only thing I wish they had was text balance alert or an app to see how much you have used from bundle. Apart from that signal is great and they do 4G

TalkMobile were dreadful with hardly any signal during my travels (Vodafone network). Plusnet are superb. Been with them since last year. Great EE 3G speeds and 2G in remote areas, where iD wouldn't have any signal. Their mobile customer service (not broadband) was very good as well.

Asda has a crap reception. Their masts are located on top of their superstores, and have a range of about 3 miles. I don't live that close to Asda and wouldnt want to be driving towards the store just to make a quick call..

This is why I left GiffGaff 2 years ago, I was getting 10% of the 4G speed that my colleague on O2 "proper" was getting, same phone sat in the same place in the centre of a big city.

Really ? I'm with Plusnet and I have a 4G signal, with typical for an MVNO 25 to 35Mbps download speeds, sometimes, on a good day I can get up to 50Mbps, it just seems to depend on time of day, and where I am geographically. YMMV of course.

I haven't a clue in the slightest, but given OfCom's tightening up lately I think it would be in breach of several regulations to not allow ASDA customers access to at least EE's most basic tier (30Mbps).

3 Apr 17#18
Yeah, granted. It won't be as fast as the flagship Max plans. I know what you're saying - I have an unthrottled plan on EE and have had up to 250Mbps on 4G+, which you'd never get on an MVNO.
What I'm saying is, they're still running on the biggest and fastest network in the UK, so it won't be that bad

3 Apr 17#17
if they do run on ee as your stated trust me and ill bet all the tea in china it will not be the speeds that i get im on the highest speeds available.and many of these posts where other companys use major brands signal its not the same you get a cheapy version thats useless
