"£0.99 for any movie rental -
Get any one movie rental of your choice for £0.99. Choose any title, from the newest releases to classics..."
This might be account specific but saw this while browsing. I also opened the above link (https://play.google.com/store/movies/collection/p3_details_02863323664006410936_4871602347) in a private browser window that was not signed into my account and the offer still showed.
Expires 07 July 2017
EDIT:
It would seem that this offer has to be activated first via the advert banner at the top of the Google Play home page but it doesn't appear to be showing for everyone. Once activated, the discount will be added to "Account => Rewards" and applied at checkout.
If you don't see the ad on the desktop, try doing it through an Android device and vice versa.

So it seems that I've been allowed to rent only a single movie. Anyone else experienced this?

Hi just an update. Noticed an email from google giving me £2 credit ( dont use google play much so probably account specific to encourage me back). Which I clicked on - my wife account was signed in so I credited it on her account- noticed the 99p films on her google play account so I now have 2 free films for the weekend.

Worked for me, thanks OP. I've been fairly active on Google play, but haven't rented a movie for a while.

It's showing for me so voted hot, will pick something to watch. Got Google movies app on my Roku but tended to use Amazon up to now which has best support for English subtitles with English dialogue, like 100% of DVDs used to have 20 years ago, Needed as OHs mother tongue is not English and subtitles really help with accents.

hot! how long do you have to watch rentals on google play do you have to watch them the same day?
PsillyPseudonym to winalot
25 Apr 171#42
I think I saw it state you have 30 days to start watching the rental from when you purchase it but once you start it, you have 48 hours to finish it.

If you rent a movie on your Google Play account and log in to a Youtube app using the same account (on an XBox for example) the film will appear in your library, so it's pretty easy to watch your 99p film on a telly.

Agreed. Ordered it on my PC and now appears in 'My library' in the Google Play app on my Samsung 55". :sunglasses:

Dr. Strange HD for 99p !
I suspect that the offer is for Google Play accounts that have been inactive recently. Signed in on my PC and a separate banner proclaimed "Welcome back" with a linky for the 99p deal. Did not work initially following the OP's linky.

Seen most recent movies:
Dr Strange - very unusual but great movie - 9/10
Arrival - unusual and slow but a very good movie - 8/10
Fanastic Beasts - Dull and one of the most overrated movies ever - couldnt watch beyond an hour, just tedious - 1/10
Star Wars: Rogue one - odd start with poor continuity (jumping all over the place, just didnt flow well for the first 15 or mins but great after that) - 8/10
Jack Reacher - Never go back - good 7/10
Trolls - good 6/10
Suicide Squad - enjoyable for a DC movie, worth it for margot robbie's hot pants and the decent CGI - 7/10
Rickardo to royals
25 Apr 171#26
So at a 'good' 7/10, you would go back for Jack Reacher, no?

I've seen some amount of muck in the cinema over the years. Taken 3, Devils Regets, etc, etc. Only twice have I come incredibly close to walking out - the second Matrix movie (we're gonna die soon so lets have a rave in a cave) and Suicide Squad. The latter is unbelievable bad. Genuinely a movie that I would need to be paid to watch again.
Of recent releases, I can thoroughly recommend Arrival. It makes a nice companion piece to Interstellar in my opinion - both deal with similar themes but in different ways. I'm a huge Interstellar fan but Arrival trumps it.

Agree awful film (coming from someone who liked the harry potter films). HP storyline was written with a more sophisticated plot line but with mostly child actors. FB storyline is trash, something a toddler might enjoy but all the actors are adults. Definitely been made for the American market, where attention spans last about 2 minutes. Actors were poor/uninspiring, couldn't help picturing eddie redmayne as stephen hawking for most of it. Interesting rewriting of history in places. 1/10 is generous

As stated, it needs to be activated via a banner add first, that appears to be account specific.
A few months ago I was able to get this offer - but not through the website or google play app - rather through the specific "Play Movies & TV" app on Android. So try that if you can't see it on the Play store app or website.
This time around I can't see it on either that, the Play store app (in the movies section) or on the website.
