Not questioning you or the price, indeed it does seem a no brainer, just pointing out to anyone who's bothered that 20v is exactly the same as 18v when it comes to li-ion batteries, i.e. 5 x 3.6v cells. It's just marketing tosh to make people think they're getting something more.

Bought it a couple of weeks ago to replace an Ebauer that I bought about 8 years with dead batteries, the price to replace the batteries was not worth it. I only used it a couple of times so far and as an occasional DIYer i am quite happy with it for the price, 3 years warranty too

the point was the 18v one doesn't have have hammer function.. And an extra battery all for £5 more.. seems a no brainer. And I am fully aware even if it was 20v 2v extra isn't a lot.

I bought a 20v hammer drill with 2 batteries for £30 at the new Aldi in Wrexham, was priced as £50 but at the till it was 30. seems like an excellent drill!... I did try putting it on hud but my app keeps stopping when I try to add anything
