The six Akira softcovers are currently around £15 each (so £90 in total). This set gives you all of them in hardcover, in the original right-to-left format, PLUS a big seventh hardcover of the much sought-after Akira Club book (which currently is out of print and goes for about £35 on its own), all in a huge slipcase, for £95.25.
You also get a free exclusive 'pill' patch that will look a bit like this:
It's a high-priced item, but it's still a bargain for what you get.
Pre-order for release in October.

That's a great deal for this box set. This will jump past its original price after the pre order release has been issued. Well worth it, nice one

How do pre-orders work? Does payment get taken now or upon dispatch?

On dispatch with amazon. And if the price drops between now and then, it will be the cheapest price between placing your order and dispatch.

Will these be full colour or b/w?

I'm interested whether this is the coloured or the original black and white manga as well.
Yep, B&W (presumably with the sections that were originally in colour intact, thought). And in right-to-left format.
I prefer it like that to be honest - it's closest to how it was originally intended to be seen. The coloured version is nice, but it's a different thing to me.

By 13 pence.

Any chance this will go up in value?

It's possible. These special edition sets sometimes do become quite sought-after. It depends how many are produced, I guess.
Anyway, just checked Amazon and it's gone up to £154.57 so we all got a massive saving!

It was a tenner more expensive. I think that sub-£100 price is a bit of a psychological barrier for some people.

I appreciate that but part of the deal contained the fact that it was an Amazon price promise and the price was continuously dropping.
It was £8 quid more expensive at first but I kept the price updated and it got down to £100 by the time it got expired.
In fact I only realised that it had been expired when I came back to update the price again after I had seen that it had dropped down to sub £100! Oh well, doesn't really matter!

Usually significant price drops are fine to repost, especially after more than a month.
I wouldn't worry, despite the (undeserved) cold votes, it seems like your post brought the deal to the attention of several people who appreciated it.
