Because it's not about not being eligible, people will click on the link, think that the offer has worked (as I nearly did myself) then be disappointed when the bonus points never materialise. If the deal said "check you emails" to see if you're eligible then fair enough that would be a hot deal for those that can get it but this deal gives the impression that people are eligible when they are not.

I never suggested anything sinister, it's not a personal attack, just warning people that they may well not get the deal that they think they will. If it is generally available then it's a great deal. Anyway I contacted Nectar to ask for confirmation, will report back when they reply.

A year or more ago they did an unlimited conversion offer giving 50% back. I converted £600 worth of points. That was a real bargain. Sadly, they seem to have learned their lesson and now limit the 50% return to relatively small amounts of points.

The selling offer wasn't a link from an email (I posted the last one!) and makes you sign in before it determines if you are eligible. This one has your details in the link, you don't even need to be signed in to activate it (because it knows it's from your account already). Will happily vote hot if someone can find a generic link!

Must admit the link leads me to an account (already activated ?- strange ! ) . Doesn't sit right at the moment , I too will wait for an email or EBay message before exchanging for vouchers and NOT getting 50% back . Hope folks haven't rushed to convert their points to vouchers as I fear if you haven't got an email or the offer isn't sitting on your Nectar page the offer is not applicable to you . I think its the OPs offer on the link that has been activated and has managed to mislead many members .

I rang nectar who were no help, then rang eBay who were a bit more helpful, as I'm unhappy that when i had £10-20 of points I used to get these offers all the time, now I have £165 of points and have been sat on them I haven't been invited to this offer the past 4-5 times -_-
So eBay had a look at the terms , and for this particular offer, you're only eligible if you did the eBay easter nectar suprise offer apparently, which I didn't bother to do. Sigh.

Does the purchase need to be for a single item of >£10 in value? I have a few smaller items that I need (only a couple of quid each) from different sellers. If I add them to a basket which totals >£10 would that qualify for this offer?
rogparki
21 Apr 171#42
Sadly the misleading link remains (link is to OPs activated deal, OP presumably had the necessary email , others will not have the deal (like me)) but the link appears at first sight to show they have the deal ! . Meanwhile the sheep continue voting "Hot" (as HUKD sheep do ) and I daresay the same sheep will be converting their points to vouchers expecting 50% back in 28 days  . Some will , who have received the email , many won't who have clicked on the misleading link . This has been pointed out in the various comments above but you can lead a sheep to water but you can't make it drink !
I await (in 28 days ) the cries of fraud , scam against Nectar /EBay (when the 50% points are not refunded )- please don't say you were not warned . OP it would help if you removed your link (which only applies to your account ) and replaced it with a generic EBay/ Nectar logo . Maybe the Mods would care to do that ? to avoid the confusion and expectation caused by the misleading link .

21 Apr 17#43
what was the Easter surprise for, don't remember activating it or not.
rogparki
21 Apr 17#44
It was for (I think ) 20 -100 Bonus points on EBay purchase over £5 -could vary , as probably customer specific . I remember activating it , but never used it , but haven't had an email about this one .
The OPs link to their own offer appears to show you have activated this deal (which of course you haven't) , click again and you are auto logged in to your EBay account ( as you would be if you clicked on EBay from your favourites ) . I dare say many members have then proceeded to convert their points believing they will get 50% back ! Some will (who have received the EMail) , many wont (who have clicked through the misleading link ) . I realise the OP didn't intend to deceive , but that is the result , and the link should be removed .

The link is to the OPs own account (who did get the email) , read previous comments please ! If you haven't had the email and it doesn't show on your Nectar page you won't get the offer (No guesswork there ) . Not saying the deal is bad but the link shows everyone clicking it has "activated the deal " . You would have to be a few sandwiches short of a picnic not to work out what has happened with the link  I'm sure the MODs will get onto it at their leisure and remove /change the link . I'm sure there are many members who will be disappointed but they have been warned several times over the last 10 hours if they just cared/ bothered to read the previous comments .

Some folks you just cannot help  I await 28 days time for the moans "what has happened to the Nectar Points I should have been refunded ? The point is - the link does not mean you will get the offer as it only applies to those who have the email - the link is to OPs account so leads any one clicking it to believe they also have the deal (as the next click leads to your EBay account (auto login)) . I'm done - can only warn members so many times , then its down to an ounce of common sense , hope you haven't fallen for it .

I contacted eBay customer support. The man said if spent 10000 points I would get 5000 back not 2500 has stated here but he also said it was by invitation only and he had no means of sending me an invite, when I mentioned the link on here he told me third party website links would not work and I should keep checking my email as they are doing more promotions in may. He was very polite and said I was one of their best customers in the UK ? I am still tempted to try this cause the previous two years it worked for me but I can't remember whether I got an invite or not.
