Some pretty damning reviews but I suppose you get what you pay for!

I have one of these, bought at the end of the season for a similar price. So for the start (hopefully!) of the BBQ season, it's a great price.

The BBQ itself is quite solid, but my only gripe is that the cooking plates are the thinnest I've ever seen. The metal they are made of is so insubstantial that if you plop a nice juicy steak on them, they cool too quickly. All of my previous models have had heavy cast iron/enamelled type plates which retain far more heat. Oh, and the ignition system has never worked, but a long lighter cures that. Only used it on a few occasions this year so far, but it cooks evenly enough. Hot for the price.

Save yourself the hassle. Get a UK made, Disposable BBQ although the scrap man won't be happy with no rusty bbq to pick up next spring. Also these are to xxxxxxxxx dangerous. UK disposable ones are great and you can run several with staggered starts. I pay £2 or less each. UK ones are deeper i find. Tesco disposable ones are naff so don't base option on them. No cleaning. No storage. No blowing yourself up while lashed up. Gas BBQ. Dum invention. Just my opinion. :smiley:

If you must buy a gas BBQ then try and get one with lava rock that way you can swap some of the lava rock with charcoal, that way you are getting an easy to light proper tasting BBQ :smirk:

Oh here come the charcoal brigade again. Biggest myth going that food actually tastes any different when using charcoal.

Wasn't it last year a chef got a job that involved cooking on a gas BBQ so decided to practice at home. He blew himself up. Like you say the gas was not connected properly. I really to hate the things. Plus I see so many while working rusted up. Still each to there own I guess.

Nope, its outdoor grilling. Very different to an outdoor cooker.
