Not sure how reliable the cashback will be with them, or if it's just a long wait. I'd still prefer to use TCB with a deal like this - 8GB, 600 mins, AYCA SMS, includes Feel at Home and tethering all for £12 before cashback, £7.41 after cashback. Don't know why that deal isn't hot.

Three impose a minimum 90 day period before cashback can be submitted for approval. It's then another 12 week period before a "resolution", according to TCB.
In two weeks time for me, it'll be exactly 6 months since I joined three and, at the moment, there's still no guarantee that i'll get the cashback.

Just for clarity, its only the £10.50 you're talking about? The other cashback is direct from themselves, you have to send a bill in every few months.

4,6,8,10,12 week claimable periods.
are you lot saying your having to wait for 6 months before you get any of it back ?
I thought they would drip feed your £48 back over each period ?
£5 effectively a month is extremely attractive for unlimited everything and 4gb of data....by far....surely.

I've got a two year contract with them and had no problems claiming 6 and 9 month cashback both paid within a week, the 9 month one was paid even after upgrading minutes/data with network provider which is suppose to invalidate cashback. Been very happy so far, plus quidco paid out too so win win

You can get the same £9 deal directly with 3 and get £45 through topcashback, so works out at £5.25 per month. I think this is less hassle for a few pennies per month.

This is more hassle but more guaranteed than TCB I would say. I had a EE deal through mobilephonedirect, just setup a reminder on your phone to submit the bill online on their form. They pay via BACS to your bank account few days after anyways

Yes, just get your PAC code and give to Three.

Ah, you can redeem online? Thats sorted then
I don't think so, and neither can you use your 4gb as a personal hotspot.
But for £12 per month, you do get Feel at home and you can use it as hotspot ... prob worth the extra 3 quid.

Seems a great deal. Someone mentioned 3 is no good for signal and customer service. I have EE so wonder if 3 would be comparable or inferior?

Pickup a PAYG SIM and test in your phone (if it's unlocked). You'll need to be fairly quick if you want to take advantage of this offer. Signal indoors can be a bit hit and miss with Three. The customer service team are (all?) based in India, I've never had an issue with them, they're very helpful, just apart from not being able to offer a decent retention deal this year.

I have been with EE for a very long time as I find their signal very reliable but I have never used 3. When you say signal can be iffy indoors, do you mean for calls or data?
morgie
25 Apr 171#27
Both. Don't get me wrong, it's not awful/non-existent, I just know that at certain friend's homes they have really good signal on EE, I have next to nothing on Three. It's partly to do with the frequencies they're using and they are making changes to improve this - (Maybe from 2016) - http://www.threemediacentre.co.uk/news/2015/4g-super-voice.aspx

Oh the 1800mhz T-Mobile spectrum lol, that 2G network was so solid haha.
The lower the MHz the better the signal as a golden rule, but the equates to not much is the base station is not nearby or has buildings or higher land around it.
Voice over 4G isn't great if 3/EE joint backhaul network MBNL like in my area know there are ongoing issues for years with no resolution timescale.
Always best to get a payg sim and test regular places you frequent before jumping into a contract more than 30 days with any provider.

I'm a field engineer and travel around the UK and tbh every network has problem areas but generally 3 in my opinion has the best all round useable data coverage some may be faster but generally most places give you a connection fast enough to stream movies

@Towner, according to quidco, the £30 cashback is only for mobile phone sales, for sim only deals, the quidco cashback should be £10. I know this as my purchase didnt track so i had to submit an untracked purchase claim, and that was when i found out it should only be £10 cashback from quidco on this deal. you are lucky to get £30

You're wrong, £50 advertised by Quidco for sim only contacts with 4GB or more:
