These are the worst toilet seats I've ever purchased!
I purchased one and it cracked after a week's use. It was unusable as it would pinch your leg when you sat on it.
I purchased another one a few weeks later and it cracked again in exactly the same place.
I would recommend purchasing a coloured seat from Wilkinson instead. I purchase one from them and I have had no issues what so ever.
Cracked seat, that sounds like a right pain in the ass.

Hey guys, this Argos 2 for £15 is not a BOGOF. There are other products you can mix and match. I fell foul of this a few weeks ago buying 2 magic brooms. Only when the assistant queried why I needed 2 brooms did she explain to me that loads of people fall foul for this.
Shame on Argos for not making this clear.

Check the dimensions of your toilet to make sure its a flush finish. Looks a good crack but once ya pinched em, may end up being a bum deal if they dont fit correctly to the rear.
Voted Hot...hopefully get this voted up to number 2!

I bought two of these for my bathrooms. They are complete junk, sadly. There's a massive amount of play in the hinges that can only be described as shonky. There's no amount of tightening that you can do to make these not flap about. Given that the cover is covered MDF and therefore very heavy, it is not long before they come off the hinge.
Respect to the OP, but these are truly trash.

Had this issue with one I bought from Wilko 6 months ago, it moves when I sit on it FFS! Apparently this is a known 'thing' with some of the cheaper versions.
I don't want to have to pay stupid prices just to get this to not happen, does anyone have any recommendations for something that doesn't move around?

Random question, are all toilets made "the same"? Our old toilet wasn't the same as our new one... so I'm not sure if the new one is the "standard" fit. Presume so, but no idea specifically. Don't really need them now, but made me wonder for the future. Since Argos doesn't mention size on the site I presume it's a general one.... but as our old one wouldn't have fit it (ok that toilet is from 40ish years ago) I've no idea if it's now a set size like for shower hoses

Guys, guys, guys... Yes there are randomly two in a bundle, yes they are crap - you're not getting the market these are aiming at. You are supposed to buy these, to glue to the road over potholes, for when you passive aggressively want to make a point to the council.

After trying quite a few, I've had better luck with this:
Hinge isn't sloppy and it screws on to the toilet and uses an adhesive too. I know someone else who doesn't rate theirs though, so your mileage may vary.

The user reviews are very mixed with an equal amount or slightly more with negative reviews. I have fitted or adjusted quite a few normal hinged seats for people and the 2 main problems are not tightening the stupid wing nuts that are usually supplied and the tendency these days to supply stupid plastic ones. Also the bolt fitting could in my opinion be a larger thread diameter so more durable fitting could be accomplished.
moneysavingkitten
3 Apr 17#44
I couldn't agree more that better quality wing nuts and more substantial bolts should be supplied. Plastic nuts are terrible and have a tendency to loosen no matter how much you tighten them.
These cheap seats would still have sloppy hinges though made of brittle metal though. Which allows the seat to move and does not help the nuts stay right. I had tried swapping the fittings out with a better quality one and it didn't help. Just caused the hinge to snap.
Not saying the Croydex one is perfect, but they hinges and fittings are a class above these colour match ones and it hasn't budged in over a year. I also only paid £9 for it from Amazon at the time.
Don't agree about the reviews, 81 five star reviews but only 33 in total are less than 3 stars.
soldierboy001
3 Apr 17#45
Reading the reviews in order on site the first ones I read seemed to be bad, I didn't look at the split, but a 25% approx. bad review rate would turn me off of purchasing. I look at the reasons not the stars.

Are they stain resistant? Or self cleaning? No point in splashing out on a posh new seat if you have to clean it as well.
