Well-reviewed Yamaha RXV-581 AV amplifier including Dolby Atmos.
Already quite keenly-priced at £349, but adding the code FLASH50 reduces it to £299, which looks to be the best price around currently. Deal should be valid until 20th March according to Richer Sounds website. Official RRP £499, although I don't think too many get sold at that price.
Free delivery (within 5 working days), or £4.99 for next working day. In-store collection also available.

If I'm not interested in atmos and happy with just 5.1 isn't the Marantz 1506 a much better buy for me?

Feature wise yeah but I'd want to demo them both.

You never know unless you heard them side by side. Yours has slightly more power from what i can see but as you know, that's not everything. I'd have a demo if tempted to upgrade (sidegrade, downgrade)?

Yeah want uhd, but not enough to take a step backwards on sound. No rush, will keep an eye out for something higher end. This looks a decent deal though!

hmm guess (other than shiny modern things) this would be a downgrade from the rxv765 ?

Probably. Unless you need UHD support. Atmos.

I'm trying to use this FLASH50 code and it comes up as invalid. Are there any criteria I'm missing?

The market for these big fugly monsters must be diminishing on a daily basis.....
Have you seen how easy it is to build a compact dac from a pi zero w and a board that is the same size?
Folk want wireless streaming, no wires, miniaturisation.....and you can get some great sounds from small speakers now...

I find it hard to believe you can build the equivalent from a pi. I need dolby atmos, HDCP 2.2 compatibility decent number of connections and enough power to run 7 speakers and sub well enough to p*ss off my neighbours.

I'd buy a Denon X1300W which is selling for the same price over this Yammy any day. The Denon has more ports, better sound quality and better room calibration. Admitted Yamaha's interface is more user friendly but that's the only thing it has going for it.

Good price, but I wish Yamaha would include a few more HDMI ports.... I have a Yamaha 675 and am using all 5 (4 rear/1 front) and need to get a new receiver for 4K, but I can see me having to get a different brand to support all my stuff :disappointed:

Yes, I prefer 2 HDMI out, being digital ports you know they can easily accommodate these. Come on Yamaha

Yamaha have been making audio equipment for decades. I had a Yamaha Dolby surround sound processor attached to my Pioneer A400 back in the early 90's to play laserdiscs.
Their gear is excellent quality.
