Came across this excellent deal while looking for new controllers for my PC. Will work out of box on 360's but you will need a compatible adapter for use with PC, which can be ordered cheaply from that auction website. Wired controllers cost around same price.
NB. Xbox 360 Controllers operate on the 2.4Ghz wifi radio band, not Bluetooth. The only way to hook them up to PC is with the official - or a third party - XBOX 360 Wireless Receiver.
If you don't already own the official Microsoft receiver, the going rate is around £17 for new.
Official is best, but pretty pricey.
If you want a cheaper non-Microsoft receiver, they're on ebay/elsewhere for around £7-12. But choose wisely!
Here's a good one, the 'massG' receiver available on on ebay and Amazon, distributed by UK company Mass Global. This receiver does really well on Amazon, and is rated overall 4.5 stars. It is rated low on ebay only because the reviewer didn't find the simple workaround solution for installing drivers to Windows 7, as described by this Amazon reviewer
Certain other models are rubbish. Definitely avoid anything "Official and Genuine" offered on ebay from China offered at an impossibly low price. Chance that these are genuine as described = zero.
Note, you only need one receiver for up to 4 controllers.
Why not pick up some reliable rechargeable AA batts?
Some charming suave HUKDer posted a decent deal a week ago. Ive been using them since then with my controllers. They last ages.

Any of you had your controller delivered yet? I've had no email off them and I'm still waiting...

It's fine aha. I just begrudge how much the official adapters go for. I have one myself - but the issue is they were never sold officially in retail apart from bundled with wireless controllers so they really have no incentive to reduce the prices of them. The price is whatever the market decides (below the price of what the controller/adapter combo set costs obviously).

ahhh, my bad - I thought you meant you picked up an official receiver when they were going cheap.
Good to hear yours worked too. Still, when I indicated to the fact that some Chinese knock-offs are more reliable than others, I didn't anticipate that most feedback would be from people defending the reputation of every generic model ever produced, based on a positive experience with 1 unit.
The faults plaguing dodgy models go beyond the fixable driver issues and include flaky connection, limited range, DOA or working just once, inability to connect more than one controller and random resetting.

Mine's recently decided to stop working wirelessly (and has had battery leakage problems since day one), so this deal has come along at just the right time. Cheers OP

Well a £2 or so saving isn't much  Just trying to make the point that the "rubbish" clones are fine, just a lot more fiddly to get working.

Yeah, shame we didn't get 200 of them in, back when they were cheap hey

Nicely! I've been looking to get a fourth 360 controller to use with some 4 player games so will snap one up. I also purchased a certified refurb official wireless receiver for £12.99 from Amazon in December but looks like they're out of stock at the moment.
Being the official one it works flawlessly. Came with a disc with drivers on it but I think any pc running win 7 and above will be plug 'n play. Great stuff.

I have had multiple 360 controllers and multiple Xbone controllers. If we are talking standard 360 v standard Xbone there is no competition.
The general build quality is superior on even the first generation Xbone controller for a start. The triggers are wider and a lot smoother, you don't feel the spring action like you do on 360.
The thumb sticks are tighter and more precise in their action particularly the stick buttons (depressing them.) The top grips on the sticks are much harder wearing than the rubberised 360 sticks, and they have a nice lip your thumbs quickly get used to.
D pad is much better. Again, even the first gen Xbone D pad is light years here, the later ones are improved on that too. One thing I personally preferred the start/select buttons on the 360 controller. Their position for me meant you couldn't miss them because you felt the edge of the guide button dome. Now they feel a bit lost on the Xbone pad. But you can't have everything.
Long story short Xbone pad is simply much better for PC use. Yes, it'll cost more and dongle is still the best way, but it's a big upgrade have no doubt.

What are the main differences? I did consider this before but I don't want 2 receivers plugged in when playing with others

Picked one up for £3 way back, no branded chinese one in a jiffy bag  Works absolutely fine - just be aware with most clones you have to manually install the official MS drivers. Out of the box ones are trash.

Ordered a couple! All of my old 360 controllers have awful drift issues on the analogue sticks due to their age

Just replace the analogue stick. Loads of YouTube tutorials if you need help.

I found they do wear out and the left stick always ends up with calibration issues used on PC. Obviously if you are using this for 360 then go nuts, but if you want a PC controller you want an Xbone one now. You won't regret it, it's an upgrade.

Thanks but I did try that on a couple, got fancy new coloured sticks and it seems the problem was with the actual analogue mechanisms themselves and it's a fiddly solder job

I've got a cheap eBay Microsoft receiver, works perfect with one controller, but when I connect a second, player 2 keeps dropping out.

Would be more advisable to look for a cheap Xbox One controller IMO.
At least you can use it via USB on so many different devices, most importantly the PC.
