Not the best price its been, but if, like me, you held back to read the reviews first  limited stock in most places, and cheapest right now. £45.99 but code 073 knocks a tenner off, you'll have to pay some delivery or find something else to buy, as free delivery over £50. Potential 7% cashback if you've never used them before.

Please note. You need a credit account with studio to purchase from them and a credit check will be performed.

- pitbullmern

Wrong, you can choose deferred cash payment option instead

Perhaps you need to read the definition of deffered payment

deferred payment
A loan arrangement in which the borrower is allowed to start making payments at some specified time in the future. Deferred payment arrangements are often used in retail settings where a person buys and receives an item with a commitment to begin making payments at a future date

Clearly says loan arrangement. Sounds like credit to me.
- pitbullmern

"If you instead choose to apply for a cash (deferred payment) account, you will be asked to pay in full shortly after receiving your bill. If you later feel this option isn’t right for you, and would prefer to spread the cost, you can switch to a personal credit account by paying a minimum payment amount, or a higher payment amount of your choice, as detailed on your bill. The choice is yours."

So if you pay in full, what exactly is the problem?

Roughly £40 for what - according to swathes of critics - could be the best videogame ever released...not bad.

I've only played 15 minutes of it roughly myself, Switch version, but can tell you, in that very short time spent, this has offered me more than 99.9% of games going today.

Bought for £45 on Friday from Smyths. Zero regrets. Already played for 10 hours. Incredible game.

Yep. That's fine. See my previous comment. I'm on Ocarina still and have every Zelda between that and BotW to play. 4-6yrs (at least!) sounds about right lol

And finally what I was expecting. Order cancelled because item is not available due a high demand...

These guys are a joke. No stock until 14th April. Terrible communication

And why are they still saying "stock available" and "10 days of delivery" when it's not true?. And what if our order is cancelled in a month because they couldn't get more stock? They are selling something they don't have
nurina
23 Mar 17 #150
It's pointless to contact them as they copy and paste the same response all the time. I'd like to know how to turn off this offer from here to avoid more people caught like rabbits in the headlights

23 Mar 17 #149
I asked them to cancel my order and refund the balance, they said they will try but they cannot guarantee it.

They didn't cancel it, I don't fully understand why though. I suspect it has something to do with them placing the order already with the manufacturer they are 'direct' dispatching from.

23 Mar 17 #148
Could you cancel? I can't cancel mine because I owe them £40.98!
sqwamsley
23 Mar 17 #147
Yeah, everything about them seemed dodgy to me every step of the way. After 5 days of placing my order I was almost convinced I had been scammed, but as I have said my order did arrive and I paid online.

I really hope it works out well for you, they should atleast be able to refund you - given the long wait time. Keep on at them!

23 Mar 17 #146
At least they have done what they say, 10 days for delivery which I wouldn't mind, but tracking my order they now say they don't have stock and they are waiting for more from 14th April. I've asked them if they can assure me I will receive the order and they say I would (not will) receive the order 5 days after this date. I've contacted Citizen Advice Bureau to get help as I don't like this company and I suspect any trick from them. The funny thing is the item is still on sale as "stock available" and 10 days of delivery so they are lying and this is just a hook to get accounts.

23 Mar 17 #145
I was unable to cancel my order with them, I requested it to be cancelled twice before dispatch, I honestly do not understand why they couldn't. There was obviously some reason they were not telling me about.

However, the item was delivered after ten days. I got nowhere with their normal customer support number, maybe try getting a local number for their UK office?

I'm trying to cancel my order with Studio because they are lying and they haven't fulfilled his side and they say they can't cancel the order because I owe them £40.98 and I have to pay it!. Is there something I can do?

23 Mar 17 #143
I've made the order on 18/03 because they had stock and they said I had to wait about 10 days for delivery. I checked right now my account and the supplier is expecting stock from 14/04. The worse is I'm totally sure my order will be cancelled after a month when they find out they will not have stock enough. They say on invoice they can cancel any order any moment. It was a birthday present and I will not have it on time and I can't cancel the order either. I knew from the very beginning something was wrong with this company and now I regret it. Very disappointed

If the Twilight Princess Gamecube situation applies here, it'll stay at this price or go even higher. Unless this gets produced as a Nintendo selects title I think it'll stay around this price.

Mines arrived and was within the 10 days stated. So actually they did exactly what was promised, despite a confusing invoice message. So complaining/cancelling because it's 'taking too long' is daft. Anyone really desperate to play this could have shelled out a bit more at Argos!

Anyone received their copy yet? I am growing concerned, I have contacted their support 4 times now as my parcel is 'Awaiting dispatch' and has been since the 6th. They have basically said 'wait longer'.

I have been reading their the reviews on trust pilot all the 5 star reviews seem to be fake and consist of similar wording or phrases. 'very good' 'good value' 'great products' while all the negative reviews are leaving me worried that this is a scam. Has anyone bought anything at all from this company before? What were your experiences?

No, I didn't... but I've just been given the bill through the post before the parcel has even been dispatched saying to allow 25-days for delivery not the 10 stated online. Fair enough, if a company wants to trade like this, that's up to them... but watch their Trust Pilot review CONTINUE to tank. :/

You're right actually. I think nintendo have been left in the dust when it comes to raw power on other consoles. The issue is they have created an image where everyone expects innovation from them and if they were to release a bog standard console they may have got support from other developers yet criticised for following the pack. I think there is still a lot of good will amongst gamers towards nintendo and it shows with the way the switch is testing it lol.

As a handheld the switch is a really nice console I just wish it did not have all the limitations nintendo has put on it. If you think about it the switch is a wii u powered console (which is roughly as powerful as the xbox 360) in your hand, which is awesome.

9 Mar 17 #114
Haha true, would love to see it on my gtx 1080, it would look incredible!

I think they will do okay in the mobile market which will keep them afloat. Pokémon will no doubt shift shed loads of units, especially when the Switch prices drops to sub £199. I see the Switch as a mid gen powerful DS with TV functionally.

I suspect a true fully specced home Nintendo when the 9th gen consoles arrive. This gen is 4 years in and no doubt Microsoft and Sony or already hard at work producing the next big thing. Probably explains why Nintendo focused on mobile rather than power, I think it's just to tie them over.

Shame really but I think a powerful expensive console would have gone the way of the Jaguar/Dreamcast. They are too late to the party as everyone now has a PS4, Xbox One or PC. It's like trying to win a marathon but starting 1 hour after everyone elsem

Dude I meant you have most likely beaten Gannon and watched the credits roll, i.e beat the game. The other guys were implying you couldn't possibly have finished it since there is over 100 hours of content. I was validating your comment not being horrible.
MadonnaProject
9 Mar 17 1 #112
No worries Mate, water under the bridge now that you apologised, and so nicely too. I think it is a lovely game, I have recently gone around the map and activated all sheikah towers. There is so much to do I didn't realise it as I had tunnell vision defeating ganon. I still think it would look and play amazing on a more powerful console. In fact, I wonder what it looks like on a pc emulator (haha after two switches and buying the game for the wii u do you think nintendo would mind me trying an emulator?). Anyways, beautiful and broad game, without any glitches which is amazing, shame its held back by weak hardware.
Leonintelex
9 Mar 17 #111
Sure dude. Well apologies on my behalf then.

I ain't a fanboy, I am a PC gamer at heart. Yes, I like Nintendo and I personally don't think they deserve the criticism that they are getting from people who have never even played it. In my eyes BOTW is the best game I've played since Half Life 2.

Getting a bit fed up with trolls spamming Switch threads everytime their is a Switch deal. Not everyone is a troll but it's getting difficult to distinguish genuine comments from trolling.
MadonnaProject
9 Mar 17 1 #110
No, I meant the part before the credits where you see zelda only for a moment before the credits roll. Don't try to be a smarty pants if you're not one and try not to bandy with other fools on the internet to try and insult someone who has not done anything to you. It's a low move. Even for a nintendo fanboy and gosh you lot are horrible people.

I agree you might be a bit cracked, not sure if trolling caused it. See below the screen shot. A view of the map will show you it's in hyrule castle. (I uploaded a few more screens but didn't link them as I didn't want to spoil your game). At least I have common courtsey.

You don't have to become passive aggressive and sarcastic calling me a troll or a liar. I know nintendo was probably your only friend growing up and possibly a parent figure too because the real ones we're not bothered enough to care, but some of us who adjusted differently realise different people have opinions and it is perfectly fine, no matter how threatening said opinions might be to your security blanket about nintendo. Also sorry I did not gush about the game, as painful an experience it might have been for your fragile psyche.

Still, just to let you know, some of us have had the game since the 1st. I actually finished it in less than 3 days. Once you have a certain weapon and defeat 4 ancient beasts, the final boss is much easier to kill. I wouldn't tell you more (unless you want me to) or you might claim it spoiled the game, and self harm or something your type do.
adam0812
9 Mar 17 #107
No I like the shrines, fantastic way to break up what you are doing. Now I've done the dungeons I'm gonna go start doing shrines, korok seeds, getting all the armor sets and stuff.
Leonintelex
9 Mar 17 #106
I thought you meant shrines lol.

Didn't even know there were temples!

I think I'm about 12 hours in so far, I have died more times than I have in every Zelda game to date added together.
adam0812

adam0812
9 Mar 17 #104
I disagree, finished all 4 temples last night and even the desert one, which I'm sure most would agree is the hardest, didn't trouble me, the boss was pretty tough though, died a few times to it. I love almost everything about the game, but the temples did not make me feel smart like previous Zelda's did.

Wow, trying to fit in eating, sleeping, drinking and going to the toilet in the remaining 4 hours must have been a really struggle. You even managed to find the time to visit HUKD and comment on PS4 deals.

Don't tell me, you also completed Mario Odyssey whilst you were at it?

Can't say the temples have been a masterpiece of design, they are poor compared to the rest of the game and compared to other Zelda games. I'm not the best puzzle solver but I've breezed through the first 3 in about 30 minutes each.
zoso1313
8 Mar 17 #98
no, you are talking utter s***

Amy true gamer can see this is a masterpiece of design. to say this game is an 8 is insulting to the 5 years of hard work the huge team have put into it.

the game is one of the best ever made, and the best and most creative I've played since Bioshock.
zoso1313
8 Mar 17 #97
the thing is, I haven't noticed any frame rate drops on the handheld Switch. I've noticed no anti aliasing, but I've had no frame rate drops at all.......it's literally the best game I've ever played at the moment. The Witcher / Skyrim etc all look embarassing next to it in terms of true open World. there is literally nothing you can't explore horizontally or vertically. roll that in with shrines, dungeons, side quests, brilliant story telling, incredible art design, tough enemies (at last), great crafting system....no wonder it's getting the plaudits it's getting.

my opinion is that anyone calling out frame rate issues is either nitpicking or has a broken Switch!!
MadonnaProject
7 Mar 17 1 #96
About 8 with technical issues (it runs at 20fps a lot of the time) ad if it were running at 30FPS solid, about 8.8 (even a 9).

As I said its not a bad game but it's also getting a lot of the usual nostalgia ridden nintendo fanboys tearing in the eyes crazy.

7 Mar 17 #94
It doesn't sour the experience at all though. It such a great game and the impact is minimal. It's so epic and constantly throwing surprises your way, 15 hours in and I know I haven't even scratched the surface.

Normally I play games on a GTX 1080 (I'm an FPS chaser) where slowdown would warrant an instant upgrade. But I can't think of a single PC game in the last 10 years that comes close to replicating this experience. I'm actually suffering from lack of sleep lol.

It's like Leicester proving you can win the Premier League with no money, Nintendo have proved that you can make incredible games without needing a beast of a gaming PC.

Very excited about the future of the Switch.
crabby09
7 Mar 17 #93
It's a standard method of emphasising a point... And, to be honest, your reply is the sort of off topic retort I expect from someone who knows they've lost an argument.

Love or hate the game - if you don't notice regular frame drops then you need your eyes tested. Come back to the real world... A game can be "one of the greatest games of all time" and still have performance issues so why pretend they aren't there? It makes you sound foolish.

Now off I go to enjoy this AWESOME GAME some more! :stuck_out_tongue:

Your right to a small degree, those ''few technical issues'' mentioned really do sour the overall experience for some gamers, be it only whilst playing at 900p, Although these ''few technical issues'', and limitations, hampering the Wii U/Switch could be addressed by your favorite EMU soon....sometime.
Leonintelex
7 Mar 17 1 #91
Why do people keep banging on about the FPS? 99% of time it runs butter smooth.

It's such an incredible and engaging game which pushes the Wii U to its absolute limits. A few very minor tech issues never debtracts from what is one of the most sublime gaming experiences in 15 years.

If you don't have this game you are seriously missing out, it's nothing short of incredible.

There you go, you acknowledge your opinion is your own. Now stop scrambling for the exaggerations and superlatives on other people's opinions and let valid points stand without getting worked up about it.

The framerate in many locations a disgrace, I stand by that. This is also a fantastic game. Not better than Ocarina yet, but I suspect there's a lot more to happen than this being just a standard Zelda romp going by the reviews.
If it's scored so highly just because of the open world I'll be disappointed. But I'm confident there's a lot of set pieces and story to unfold in addition to this being the GTA of Zelda.
djaydearz
6 Mar 17 #58
£40 for a wii u game in 2017?
zoso1313
6 Mar 17 2 #57
framerate dips here and there don't kill a game, it's not a criticism in my book....people over obsess with frame rates. this isn't a FPS, the frame rates do not impede with gameplay. how about some criticisms of the gameplay, art design etc .....there isn't any, as it's pretty much a perfect game

6 Mar 17 #52
Completely agree... If I could explain the impact it has for me... It's like watching a film that stutters every now and then... So, if it's a great film I don't care, but if I'm not enjoying the film I'd probably turn off.

Just so happens this game is probably the best "film" I've seen in a long time :stuck_out_tongue:

And I think that's the crux... If you don't get caught by the Zelda bug with this game, it's enough of an issue to stop you from persevering.

Certainly it's not the best-performing game, but whether you find the frame-rate (which is hard-locked at 20fps minimum) to be distracting is a matter of opinion - while of course I wouldn't dispute the impact that it has for you, personally I don't find it to be a significant detractor.

I'd suggest a slight edit to your post to remove the potential spoiler here. It's not *huge*, but could still spoil part of the story for some.
adam0812
6 Mar 17 1 #50
And yet here you are posting your opinions. Most of us here like/love the game but to pretend it's perfect is to be the fanboy you apparently despise.
adam0812
6 Mar 17 1 #49
About 20 hours in. The frame rate dips are annoying but I can live with them. They definitely tank in the villages a lot. The problem is they're using double buffered vsync so as soon as it drops a frame you're looking at 20fps. Hard to say whether that or no vysnc with screen tearing is preferable. Maybe they're going for nostalgia with the 20fps
crabby09
6 Mar 17 1 #48
FYI... He's right.. the performance issues are distracting from an otherwise incredible game... You sound like an idiot claiming he is a fanboy for stating something that EVERYONE should be made aware of before they buy. It's a FACT that this game struggles on both the Wii U and the Switch at times and people should take that in to account when deciding on whether or not to buy the product.

I for one hope they patch in some performance improvements and as soon as they do I'll be all over the DLC.

(He's also pretty accurate with the description of the game, except I find the content much more engrossing and varied than Far Cry)

Got to admit... I am so far loving this game... I think of how much I've played... then take a look at the map and realised I've barely scratched the surface!

The completely open world structure feels very fresh to me, but I've ended up dying a lot... The lack of structure is empowering and daunting in equal measure.

My biggest gripe are the frame rate drops that are quite distracting... Otherwise, very happy here.

I'm about 12 hours in, loving it. Killed a divine beast, gotten ancient armour, done loads of shrines. It's a great game. But the performance is terrible on Wii U according to 2017 standards. I've never owned a PS or Xbox, but I do own a beast of a PC. Not listening to other people's opinions on a topic is the definition of fanboy.

I paid about £34 for my copy but in a very messy way but I guess the best deal was the Amazon £30 offer if you bought it on the day with a £10 off bonus back along. Also some people who have delayed shipment have managed to get compensation on top of that like a fiver I think. I bought from boomarang at £40 but they are now selling at £60 so I think there is a real stock shortage here and prices for the wii u version are going to go sky high long term. So not just an amazing game but a potential investment too when you are finally bored of it, it may sell for more.

It may end up like Twilight Princess where the gamecube version comfortably sells for a lot more than the wii version.
Leonintelex
6 Mar 17 2 #44
This is an incredible game. As a PC gamer I am used to true 4K/60 FPS but this game is so good, it proves that graphics are not everything.

Never before have I played a game with such a believable open world. The shrine puzzles are masterpieces and the scale is just breathtaking.

So tired this morning as this game kept me up until 4am! It's a looooong time since a game made me have 2 hours sleep.

12 hours in on Switch, and it's the best 12 hours gaming I've had in a long while. you get completely lost in it, it's incredible

6 Mar 17 1 #41
possibly.with Twilight Princes the GameCube version was the definitive version and had proper controls unlike Wii motion nonsense, and also they had to "mirror" the game on Wii..but people didn't know this at launch so most people went for Wii version which now is worth next to nothing whereas the Gamecube version is quite expensive.
and in case of this game there are many frame rate issues with Switch so many already believe the Wii U version is better since the game was designed for Wii U originally, and Switch is not that much more powerful compared to Wii U to begin with.

Some objective analysis from Eurogamer's Digital Foundry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yFON2UON3k

I have no major complaint about the game's performance personally, playing on Switch.
scotia2
5 Mar 17 #35
It depends what you're used to. The framerate in the wii u version is absolutely appalling. The world is asking for 4k60 yet they cannot meet 720p30.
It can do 30fps out in the open, then 15-20 in really built up areas like villages. Everything else in between.

I never played it The Order 1880 but it got absolutely ripped to shreds for its performance, which was better than this.

The framerate is better on the Switch version. As for graphics, that's personal taste, I like the look of it myself.

5 Mar 17 #24
I've played it... I don't think it's very good personally.

It feels like Far Cry, it doesn't feel like Zelda and I'm just so bored running about. Also the framerate is horrible, it's constantly dropping to a slide show and it's ALL THE TIME, not just a one off thing.

I hope they make more like A Link Between Worlds, they're the best Zelda games.

I have never experienced this, sure there is not issue with your console? Of all the forums I've been on this is the first I've heard this. I respect your opinion, just the first time I've ran across the frame rate issue..
duckative to slannmage
5 Mar 17 #29

There are sometimes frame rate issues, but it's incredibly minor and possibly lasts for a second or two, considering there are no loading screens, and possibly the fastest wii u game loading screen I've experienced, i don't find the infrequent frame rate drops a problem at all, and it's definitely not a slideshow.
It's extremely well made for the console, and the world is beautiful with it unique art style. It's a free to roam world, just because of that, doesn't make it a far cry copy... If you're bored running about aimlessly, then perhaps follow the main mission

5 Mar 17 2 #17
I don't see this ever getting to around £30 - unless it's in a sale. Nintendo have the unenviable task of promoting a new console. No reason to suggest that this will ever get a high enough print run to satisfy demand, especially when all signs point towards it being a token gesture towards existing Wii U owners. Expect stock to disappear in the near future, with the only other option being to upgrade to the Switch.

If you're interested in the game, I'd suggest buying the Wii U version now.
paully
5 Mar 17 2 #10
Considering every other Wii U game has retailed at £30 I don't get why this is so expensive. I'm sure it's a good game but sounds like some profiteering is involved here.
Rustybucket to paully

You seem to be misremembering. Most first party Wii U games remained at £40 for a long time after release. £35 is a more common cheaper price point.

I agree that £60 for the rrp is too high, but most retailers are offering closer to normal expected prices.

Possibly a Gamecube Twilight Princess situation (low-ish print run) as to why the price is higher than previous games? I chose to get this early rather than waiting for it to dip below £40 just in case.

Roughly £40 for what - according to swathes of critics - could be the best videogame ever released...not bad.

I've only played 15 minutes of it roughly myself, Switch version, but can tell you, in that very short time spent, this has offered me more than 99.9% of games going today.
