If you don't mind 'having all your eggs in one basket' , this is, I think the cheapest per GByte drive. If you put your postcode in the search here, you may find one reasonably near you. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/wd-8tb-my-book-usb-30-external-desktop-hard-drive-a56ut
This appears to be a single drive, however removing it from the case will void the warranty. I've obtained most of my drives this way and they have all lasted much longer than the one year warranty

Personally, I prefer Seagate drives. They have an 8TB 'achive' bare drive. The best price for that is I think here:
Not voted on price but if this is the cheapest per Gb price around currently then prices aren't falling. Might be a Brexit thing. Pretty sure my last HUKD hard drive purchase was less per Gb and that must be more than a year ago.
I bought most of my electronics at the end of last year ready for when the Brexit effect kicked in, even though the pound got trashed there's a lead time on most goods of 6 months or so, hence inflation only now starting to kick in
" the Seagate Archive posted 10 IOPS at 2 Threads 2 Queue, which remained virtually unchanged with a 16 Threads 16 Queue IOPS of 10 as well." which is quite impressive. now how much would I be able to get for my bad-sector-free out-of-warranty fleet of 1-4TB WD Black or Caviar 3.5" HDDs? managing those is a pain and I can see how 2 of these 8TB ones would be so much easier to use.

Got the Seagate 8TB for £194.99 on Amazon last week. Back up now but worth keeping an eye on.
I never had $1.5tn so that's simply not true :stuck_out_tongue:.
But one thing I do know is I'm better off this year than last...

Are you one of these people that believes money will vanish post Brexit? Do you also believe that the rich should always be rich and the poor should always be poor?

- Brexit and hence the hammering of the pound (unless you read the Daily Express in which case it's doing fine)
