Turns out although it was dispatched today the delivery isn't expected until Wednesday the 12th! That's nearly another week to wait.
My delivery charge is being refunded though, so that's something I guess.
Even MyHermes take about 3 days to deliver these days, I can't fathom why yodel are taking a week

I expected better, plus I think these days when spending over £150, paying an extra £5 delivery should mean expedited delivery not a week+.

Brought a vax carpet cleaner 9 years ago still does a great job but getting a bit loud now so buying a spare for when it goes. Also brought a Vax agile something something vacuum 5 years ago and still run better than the missus dyson and could have brought four vax's for what she paid. The day dyson or shark do a 20 year guarantee parts and labour I'll buy one

Jumped on nice and early, ordered last week, and they've only just sent my order out with another 3-7 working day wait ahead.
Not impressed.
I know they've probably been busy, but even so. Others have had theirs in 12hours from order?!
Scrub that - they've not even sent it - hasn't left their warehouse. *Sigh*

Ok, so can someone help me out here?
Been looking at reviews for carpet cleaners but I still can't decide between the Dual V and the Dual Power Pro Advance. Would be handy if there was a versus comparison between the two when it comes to the suction, how well it dries the carpet, etc, but I can't find any.

Bought the Air Cordless Upright (£80) for my Father late Wednesday night. It arrived this afternoon (Devon) via Yodel, which to be fair is none too shoddy.
Just got back from setting ti up for him.
First impressions, not too bad at all. You are almost certainly restricted to always using the boost function, which gives reasonable suction but cannot really be compared to a good mains unit. The motorised brush function does however make up the work for the lesser suction. It was quite alarming how rapidly that cylinder filled up to be honest. Its excellent maneuverability makes up for any perceived weight. The walkabout unit's performance is purely dependent on which head you attach in my opinion. The smaller heads giving the best pick-up performance given the lack of the motorised head. The build quality is better than i expected to be honest. I was expecting a shoddy, poorly fitting component build.
Caveats. Already i can see that maintenance will be key to it's longevity. You'll be cleaning the cylinder and filter on an almost per use basis if your carpets are subject to a lot of traffic etc. I didn't think the hard floor performance was anything special at all. A common train of though with this unit as i have read. I think there may be a hard floor setting on the head, but have not looked into it.
Overall i was very pleasantly surprised with what i found. For £85, the main unit is a doddle to use, and the ability to be cordless for the stairs and car is it's own very obvious boon. Recommended

Yep, did explain this that my agreement is with Vax not Yodel, felt like she was basically calling me a liar, just rang Vax back, seems difficult for them to understand that Yodel have admitted to being at fault, that the other 2 parts of the order show as being delivered at a different time, which I openly admitted to receiving them, 10 minute wait on the phone and the guy comes back stating a investigation would have to happen and that it could be another week before I receive what I ordered.
Left a rather bad taste in my mouth, think i'll avoid them in future, have been a customer before with no issues but this time seems I've been treated unfairly IMO.

Been using vax for years without a hitch. You may possibly have had a defective unit. Your still covered (sort of) regardless even without the manufacturers warranty/guarantee under the Consumer rights act. Have a read through this:
Wouldn't buy one due to the experience i had with the steam mop. stopped working 12 months down the line, could not get any steam to come out. It would make a noise but deliver naff all. even stripped it down but couldn't find the problem. just after warranty expiry as well.

HOT but will have to pass on making a purchase as I must have bought around 24 bottles of cleaner the last time around, a couple of years ago, and still have some left.
Actually, VAX messed up with the delivery at the time and 24 bottles became 48. 24 given for free as they didn't want to accept returns for their mistake. Great service! edit: that sounds sarcastic...seriously, great service!

I was wrong, only the terrain is heated.
I feel the terrain is a older product compared to the w-85, the w-85 is a which best buy too.
However I went with the terrain because it looks bulkier, heated cleaning and also can be used on hard surfaces too. Also the RRP was £50 more. (I do love a bargain even though It would never sell at RRP)
What did you end up with?

Thanks OP. Wanted a carpet cleaner with a hose and have been looking at the W86DPR for a while (even though we wanted the W85PLT but couldn't afford it).
However, went to buy the W86DPR tonight and had sold out so bought the W86DPT. I don't think there is much difference apart from the DPR's hose may stretch longer (even though it's the same length) and that the DPT has a wand for spot cleaning?
Anyone know, as it seems so confusing!
Thanks

they do clog a bit, which is why you should de-clog them every time you empty the waste
can't see that is over-demanding, just clean the bucket and its filter, the clear plastic dual pipe uptake whatsit and anything stuck to the scrubbers underneath
takes about 1 minute

Pondered for an hour and went for the U85-AS-Pe, air stretch pet - blue.
£69.99 plus postage. It's more than some of them but 6 year guarantee really helps.
I chose it over the green "Ce" complete, because reviews suggested that doesn't come with a turbo brush, and people went out to buy one due to inability to tackle their stairs! The Pe comes with a turbo brush.
The Ce is also not looking readily available on Amazon where as the Pe is, priced at £129.99 - less than VAX RRP but still an almost definite, inc the postage cost, £55 saving on one of the cheapest available prices.

Got the all Terrain carpet cleaner in the last sale. Either it pulls a frightening amount of stuff out of a square meter of carpet without any added chemicals or they've discovered a simple trick to turn water a deep muddy brown, possibly by passing a very specific current through it. It is silly effective, and has full 6 year guarantee.

Which is the best Vax cylinder vacuum under £35, is it based on price?
We had 2 bagless VAXes bought from factory clearance and I won't buy another one. The products looked good, were made of decent materials and had very good suction whilst new, however in my opinion their filters are not the best and this makes their maintenance very expensive. The filters, after washing them just a few times were useless as either the outer ring of the filter was getting too soft and no longer stayed in place, the viscose inserts got unevenly spread like an old pillow or clogged to the level the suction went to unacceptable level ).

Bought an Air Cordless Switch just under 2 years ago for nearly £100. It's had minimal use, as the suction is pretty poor and I decided to repair my Dyson. It hadn't been used for a good few months when I decided to give it another go, and I was surprised to see that the battery had completely died. I was only just inside warranty and, in fairness to Vax, they are sending me a replacement battery for free. Interestingly, the lady at Vax said they don't expect the batteries to last much beyond 2 years! WTF?! They also charge £79.95 currently, for a battery, which is the same price as a brand new Air Cordless Switch. So there you have it, even Vax value their Air Cordless Switch as worthless. I quite agree. Also, the removable stick vac is useless - no suction to speak of at all. Avoid!

thanks vassy4u. Been looking at some of the accessories for the slim vac last week or so and that was 70% off (making it £20 delivered rather than £57!)

Brilliant thank you. Went for the cordless floormate for £80, absolute steal as it's still 199 on Amazon.

I got this one & it's pretty effective
you do need to clean the bits every time you empty the waste, ie de-clog it of dust etc - otherwise it gets blocked and stops working/ risks over-heating

all their solutions are fine, you don't need a pet/ pet smells to use the pet solution, it's just carpet cleaner

The dog vomit stain on my carpet is taunting me
The dog was sick on the carpets the day I ordered and 3 goes of vanish carpet spray cleaner hasn't got rid of the mark so I can't wait for it to arrive!
Not impressed.
I know they've probably been busy, but even so. Others have had theirs in 12hours from order?!
Scrub that - they've not even sent it - hasn't left their warehouse. *Sigh*
Been looking at reviews for carpet cleaners but I still can't decide between the Dual V and the Dual Power Pro Advance. Would be handy if there was a versus comparison between the two when it comes to the suction, how well it dries the carpet, etc, but I can't find any.
Recommended
Left a rather bad taste in my mouth, think i'll avoid them in future, have been a customer before with no issues but this time seems I've been treated unfairly IMO.

Ordered an All Terrain Carpet Cleaner, if it breaks early I can always fall back on the credit card protection.
fake deal, Vassy - you might be ashamed
Actually, VAX messed up with the delivery at the time and 24 bottles became 48. 24 given for free as they didn't want to accept returns for their mistake. Great service! edit: that sounds sarcastic...seriously, great service!
Looking for a hand-held cordless cleaner for the car, sofa cleaning and crumbs (which are plenty because of the toddler).
However, went to buy the W86DPR tonight and had sold out so bought the W86DPT. I don't think there is much difference apart from the DPR's hose may stretch longer (even though it's the same length) and that the DPT has a wand for spot cleaning?
Anyone know, as it seems so confusing!
Thanks
Really liking the idea of the heat - anything to cut drying time down is good in my book.
I was set on the W85 until I saw the same price for the Terrain.
The all terrain is heated. Don't know if that is better or not.
Choices? Anyone know whats the better option? There both same price
I've ceased to be amazed at how much my machine gets out - but then again, I've got 3 kids
can't see that is over-demanding, just clean the bucket and its filter, the clear plastic dual pipe uptake whatsit and anything stuck to the scrubbers underneath
takes about 1 minute
disconnect electricity first
£69.99 plus postage. It's more than some of them but 6 year guarantee really helps.
I chose it over the green "Ce" complete, because reviews suggested that doesn't come with a turbo brush, and people went out to buy one due to inability to tackle their stairs! The Pe comes with a turbo brush.
The Ce is also not looking readily available on Amazon where as the Pe is, priced at £129.99 - less than VAX RRP but still an almost definite, inc the postage cost, £55 saving on one of the cheapest available prices.
,maybe cheaply made, but not broken yet.
other option is to spend 250 on a dyson, which seem to break quite easily

Vax not interested at all...
terrible company.
It's a vast improvement on the one currently in this sale, the SlimVac so it may be worth holding off.
Vax Air Cordless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Handheld Bundle - worth £279.98 - £79.99 @ VAX
was a lot better with free delivery for the cordless ones really pleased I bought it then
Voted hot though.
Anyone here got one? Any good?
Does anyone know if there's a compatible extra-long hose for the carpet cleaners? I usually just use the handheld attachment but I still have to lug the entire contraption up and down the stairs because the hose isn't long enough
you do need to clean the bits every time you empty the waste, ie de-clog it of dust etc - otherwise it gets blocked and stops working/ risks over-heating
maybe the 3 for a tenner deal is back on the carpet cleaning solution?
better off using the deal I posted a while back (£5.99)
