So I posted this deal around 3 weeks ago here and it was voted cold because I didn't have any proof at the time. My billing cycle has since refreshed (earlier than I said it would because I got the date wrong) with the new tariff and so I now have a screenshot of proof with my monthly bill. I've attached the screenshot but covered any identifying information with boxes for obvious reasons.

Here's what I wrote on the last deal:

I could have been on the phone to Cairo for 3 hours and wouldn't have got any further though! I repeatedly asked to speak to a manager after 60 minutes, and he kept saying "But Sir, everything is in order". He eventually offered £10 instead of a manager, to which I refused. He then asked what it would take for me to hang up, and I said £30. He went to speak to somebody (??Manager!) and said their highest offer was £20.
I said no thanks, I still want to speak to a manager. Less than 2 seconds later, he replies:
"Fine. £30 it is".
And there's me thinking... But you just said £20 was your highest offer!!
It was all so comical if it wasn't so terrible customer.
Oh well, as long as you can speak to someone in the U.K. via complaints

Well Vodafone were there usual yearly disaster & disgrace for me.
Agreed 4 phones retention deal at £13.50 for 12GB data/unlimited texts & minutes via live chat.
Turns out they only put one phone on 12GB and changed me from my current price of £13.50 to £32 - and didn't do anything to the other 3 phones at all.
Phoned to explain problem at the weekend - adamant his live chat person did the right retentions deal & just not updated on my end yet. He agrees my contract end date is in 2 months still..... Kept having to point out Vodafone do not do 2 month contracts. He told me to wait for my next bill even though all 4 phones are on one bill and one phone was different to the rest.
He agreed to £30 compensation after 60 minutes as one phone couldn't be upgraded till yesterday due to it not yet being in the'upgrade window'. He was useless and I knew more how their systems work.
After hanging up to him, the other 3 phones all got 12GB data and moved info the £32/month plans. He never said he was going to do anything at all, and agreed the price would be £13.50.
Phoned complaints yesterday and spoke to a UK call centre who immediately saw how wrong they had got it.
Vodafone could never promise £13.50/month - it's a 58% discount and my account is limited to 50% discount. She saw the live chat and had to add a huge amount of amount credit to:
1) make to the difference to the £13.50 promised over 12 months, over 4 phones
2) for the additional payments on bill as they had put me on data upgrade plans, not retentions deals hence my bills this month works be a lot higher
3) Apply the £30 compensation that I was promised at the weekend that he never applied nor made any record of.
Apparently people in Cairo customer services are going to be in a hell of a lot of trouble but the UK person was competent and honoured what was promised to me - and could see just how much they had screwed up the retentions deal.
She even didn't transfer me to upgrades to honour it, because she said they would never agree to over £150 account credit, so did it all herself.
Overall, they get it wrong every year and only their 50% off retentions keep me there!

Yeah it's a rubbish retention deal when you can get better offers elsewhere. Apparently that was a generic retention deal and he tried selling me the benefit of EU mins when he already asked if I use abroad (none and not likely in the near future). Think I'm going to virgin as they have rollover data too.

Personally I took it as can't be fussed with moving, porting or redemption also hoping my long term 'loyalty' is of some value. Anyway I found out on BT Sports , if like majority of peeps watching at home via home network broadband etc , unlikely you'd use any of your gb data. IMO its an issue if you've a 'heavy' usage of streaming, videos , downloading , music etc
From sounds of it , on your current plan data usage etc ... you have options ! , 1. retentions for this 4Gee Max Sim only for 9.99 but push for 7gb though the 4gb version would fit you 2. 3rd party redemption cheap deal 3, switch mobile networks for a cheap deal - its all win/win

Im on Tmobile (old plan from a HUKD) and my plan is so called 'unlimited data plan'. I originally thought it was a 1gb limit and was frugal but on my account I saw it is 3gb with fair usage. For the past couple of years or so I have been using over the 1gb I thought I was on. On a couple of occasions I've had text to let me know I've used 80% of my fair usage data.
Anyhow, your offer seems good. I would take it based on my usage, but I wouldn't know about the amount of data BT Sports would use.

called Tmobile EE ,retentions been a customer over 10 yrs on 'Sim only 15' 3G 600mins 500 txts 1.5gb data price plan ( all t-mobiles plans max 1.5gb he said? ) , thought i was on an unlimited data plan
quoting these deals they offered me EE 4g unlimited mins/texts , bt sports 12 months , EU roaming and 7gb data £9.99 , not sure but doubt its rollover - guy sounded senior and said only he could offer it
sound like a good deal for me ? is this a good deal generally? will the 7.5gb Data limit be an issue i mean for BT Sports , i dont use phone for movies ,videos music streaming etc on phone but if i use BT sports app ?

Have to admit I am very sceptical because a few months ago I spent ages and ages on many phone calls to Virgin because they were cancelling my "loyalty bonus". I was on £5.60 per month for a '£15' contact. 500 mins, 1GB data, unlimited texts. All good things come to an end but I fought it pretty hard. Eventually they caved from their £8 is the lowest we will go to £7 but for 1000 minutes and 1GB of data.

I've never paid sky anything for 2 years. There will always be customers with screaming kids or wife who can't cancel this time sky rang me after one month and offered me 60% i refused and month later it was 60% and 100 GBP credit or 5 months free in 4 months i canx and the cycle begins again. If you can be prepared to go without service you shouldn't worry about Murdoch going bust he needs to worry about satellite is a dying platform. I only have a sky HD and foreign sat box. When they die I'll just have a lead to my computer with catch up that's all you need. I use cricfree or mobro for 3pm and sky down time. They'll never make me pay again. I've been a long time lurker here at HUKD. I now remember why I never commented much. People are so Over the top and simply believe their personal experience, reflects that of the whole company/service of a provider.
Every provider is not perfect. This goes for 3, EE, o2 etc.
Find the one that suits you most, be it price, tariff etc.
But dont moan and belittle others. Opinions are like Ar$e holes and looking here! theres plenty in this thread!

While the price is hot (yes!), I want to share my experience of Virgin Mobile. I had been with them for about 8 years and ported to Vodafone about 3 years ago. VM were cheap and ready to haggle and there had been no issues until T-Mobile started merging with Orange. Remember, VM are a reseller fully dependent on what is now an EE network. The first outage lasted around 2 days, no calls were getting through. VM wasted my time talking me through configuration changes (which I had tried before myself) and ended with a verdict that I had to buy a new handset as there was no fault on their side. My only way around was to use my SIM in a 10-year old Nokia that only supported 2G and texts. Next outage occurred in less than a month. This time I had an extra handset and SIM cards and was able to establish that VM had no 3G service, only 2G. My handset (which is still in use) worked fine with non-Virgin SIM cards. Second time with VM was not much different from the first one, they bluntly refused to analyse the call records (which they had to request from T-Mobile as a network owner) claiming no fault with their service. Being a telecomms consultant for around 15 years, I was fed up with this rubbish service and asked for a PAC code. In 3 years with Vodafone I had periods of slow Internet but never an issue with voice calls, so I prefer to pay £13/month. Again, thanks for posting the deal as sometimes the price matters.

23 Mar 171#158
As a customer of virgin for 14 years there 20gb data is not worth the paper it's written on chk small print when you go over your fair usage they then restrict your download speeds to less than 300k speeds ,i think there usage policy is after 3 or 4 GB they do this, if i remember as i had a massive row with them over it as what is point in having loads of data u don't actually get to use ,so if i was you ask them about fair usage policy because you'll never get full 20gig at full speed it will be restricted as they did to me a few times ,VIRGIN SMALL PRINT is how they screw u over ... oh and other thing you get a credit limit so once u go over that they also restrict your service even if you have not used all your mins up again another one of there protection policy s so you then have to ring them up to get service back up it also restricts your 789 service too Inc texts and running each time you hit your credit limit as for some reason your credit limit is part of your usage policy so another CON !! BEWARE

It all does depend on who you speak to. I believe each sales consultant for the retention or other teams each have a set of offers they are given for the month/quarter (now is a good time to call before Q4 end).
They have targets to meet, and can use a combination of offers at their disposal for them to meet these targets. If they have used up all of their offers it will be those that don't budge and offer anything and just pass you a PAC code. If that happens just hang up before any confirmation is made. Then ring up again and you will find each time someone else offers you a different deal. I have done this with a number of providers in the past (including Virgin) and have always ended up with a better deal (after several attempts).

Actually all companies could retract their promotions if it isn't economical for them to have that deal. They'll let you leave without liabilities though. Happened to me before when I excessively called 087 numbers. They cut me off and gave me the option to leave or change tariff without free calls to 087. Ofcom couldn't do anything about it cause apparently I breached the terms and conditions, and from what I see on this deal, they might do the same

22 Mar 17#145
Not exactly, your going off most high end phones over the last 2 years. Thats fine but a lot of the people that go for sim only usually go for the lower price bracket of handset based around £80 to £150. They make up more than 40% of the sim only market on voda, o2 (tesco, giffgaff) and EE.
Most of the people you talk about every 2 years are the upgraders, they have to have a new phone when its upgrade time. which is the majority. Thus a higher contract group, that will go for iPhone, Samsung and Sony.
I only worked at o2 for 8 years, so I have some insight into the matter. Having to deal with the reps from samsung, sony, htc, hp, nokia. But not Apple apparently for them the phones sold themselves.
One of the reasons over the last 5 years o2 has pushed more android. Simply because apple wanted everything there way in terms of tariffs, one off handset costs.
As I said it was just a thought, you'd be very surprised at the number of 40 and 50 somthings that simply want a touch screen with a good camera and whatsapp to send and receive photos. There's a lot of them out there.
Back to this deal. It is a retention deal. From people I know. These data offers on Virgin mobile are meant to finish in 4 weeks time. So £12 with 2500 mins and 6GB will go back 2GB for a while. Something to keep in mind, but since these offers are so good on 30 day deals. Your hardly missing out. They'll always be a new or improved offers a few months later.

£10 a month on a 30 day contract

8GB 4G rollover

Great for the OP getting this, however it really is not a deal, just so happens in coincidence both myself and my wife took out contracts with Three yesterday, switching from Virgin on their current double data promotion which is Unlimited calls and texts and 4GB of data (instead of 2GB) for £9 Sim (4G) only deal.
I phoned last night to get my PAC code from Virgin, woman asked why I was considering leaving, told her..she said they did not want to lose me as a customer and could do 1500 minutes and 2GB data for £9 (4G)...ermm.
Wife phoned them from work today, texted me to say she asked for the PAC code, guy at Virgin never even attempted to question anything for retention.

God, I hate calling sales they always try so hard and don't want to let you off the phone lol. Anyways, I was unsuccessful. Guy tried to quote me £25, I brought the offer up but didn't mention any specifics (like retention etc) and he said that person must have been offered loyalty discount through their retention team and been a customer for a very long time blah blah blah. He tried to offer me some £25/£15 RCs and said I could talk to the retention team in 1 month for a better deal. The £15 RC was like 4GB (apparently) and he tried to make it sound like he was offering me a deal by saying for me he would double to 8GB (limited time offer, aren't they all). Politely declined everything. Guess I'll stay put.

Needless to say I politely declined.

Thanks OP at least it gives people a figure to aim for even if they don't have any chance of getting the same deal, you aren't Martin Lewis by any chance ??

I also had a friendly chat with them when my BB deal was up - I did not threaten to leave and just said, look guys, I am not going to get 200MB speed with anyone else, I rarely get any outage and I want to stay with you. Can you just sort out something nice for me for another year? And BAM, got a nice retention deal and a friendly voice on the other end...

Oh look. A normal sane person. I'd like to think the majority of the UK is like this.

Sometimes it's good to phone and just pleasantly ask if they can improve your current situation with them .
10 mins ago I was -
1200 mins, 1 GB data ( 3 G ) , unlimited text. £9 a month rolling contract.
After a 2 min chat asking if they could improve anything,
1500 mins , 2 GB data ( 4 GB ) , unlimited text. £8.
I am now paying less and getting more,
Try politely asking, its always worth a try.
Husla
22 Mar 17#88
Defiantly. I tried to change my tariff last time and I asked them about reducing the price for being loyal for over 4 years, the lady took 2£ off my contract but before I could finalize my phone cut off the line and I couldn't get that deal. It's kinda shame they aren't all like that with loyalty.
They have 11£ deal for 2500 mins, unlimited text and 6gb 4g data. What exactly, are you trying to get?

22 Mar 171#80
Ugh, its annoying that people want your details and are trampling all over your deal by using it to get the same. It won't take long for someone from VM to see your screenshot, and use your billing date/deal to retract your offer. They were probably swarmed last night with bolshy, argumentative hukd'ers using your deal to justify a sense of entitlement. Personally I would remove the deal and info now, people have had their chance.

I really hope your not one of those people, that ring up saying my friend has this deal, here is there account number. And demand the same? Not ask? but demand!
Theres a funny bunch out there that would pay top dollar for a BMW or Mercedes. More for the prestige They think it brings. But want to pay peanuts for everything else..
If everyone did pay peanuts companies like SKY, VirginMedia, BT would be out of business within months. Then everyone would complain.
While I love HUKD and everyone loves a great deal as well as saving money. There are plenty that want it all for nothing.

Went to Virgin store yesterday as luckily my friend works there so i got him to write notes on my account (have 1 SIMO already) to tell the sales team to give me this offer and after 20 mins on the phone they eventually did it thanks to the notes. Edit: btw the deal is a discounted deal, from £10 to £5 but I think even the £10 price is heavily discounted.

Again , i have said previously Retention deals are all down to the individual call handler . i also had 2 SIM only deals with Virgin for 10 years and got offered nothing exciting to stay with them . that's awesome you have that deal but i honestly feel it's down to the call handler and the mood they are in , there is no rythme or reason with any retention deal .

great deal and nice to see rewards for retention................... as for THREE.. be surprised if they have any customers in 2/3 years as the upgrades/retentions are absolute garbage!! cancelled 2 contracts as pointless trying to haggle, they just say well we are working on new "fantastic" deals in the coming weeks, so do ring back! but then even admit that they have complained to managers that they cannot meet market deals, having listened to customers....................

21 Mar 17#19
I wouldn't hold your breath, Three don't seem to place too much priority on holding on to their customers and their retentions deals are reportedly worse than new customers can get on line (they were for me anyway, and a couple of other posters you can find in the other sim deals posts).
My Three contract finishes next week and I've bought one of the EE4G Max deals for £4.50/m (after jumping through 18 hoola-hoops to get the cash back!) after Three refused to give me any sensible offer. Admittedly, this is a better deal (I only get 7GB data) but I need the tethering which Virgin doesn't allow.

Just to add, I've been on an £8/month rolling contract with Virgin for some time now. Again, I got it through retention. It is their unlimited everything(voice, text, data), free 08 numbers, for £8 / month. Only trouble with it is that it's so good, I can never be tempted to break out and so I'm stuck buying phones payg or sim-free  1st world problems!
In summary, give em some stick through retentions, they def want your custom!

That is amazing.
As I always say, when you are right, dig your heels in for an hour. You'd be amazed what you can come away with.
They sent me a new sim I got it 5 days laters with a new number too which I don't want so they rubbish really - got 14 days so will cancel unless they they give me a better deal , I've haggle for years with them I feel like I'm in Istanbul
Depends how much they want to keep you.
Not good enough.
Anyhow, your offer seems good. I would take it based on my usage, but I wouldn't know about the amount of data BT Sports would use.
quoting these deals they offered me EE 4g unlimited mins/texts , bt sports 12 months , EU roaming and 7gb data £9.99 , not sure but doubt its rollover - guy sounded senior and said only he could offer it
sound like a good deal for me ? is this a good deal generally? will the 7.5gb Data limit be an issue i mean for BT Sports , i dont use phone for movies ,videos music streaming etc on phone but if i use BT sports app ?
why he is getting slated for doing this i have no idea.
in future after amount of sceptical comments on this thread ,most likely put off other posters due to negative comments.
i for one though will say thank you to op for this and will phone up virgin during week to have a haggle on my current sim only deal.
My girlfriend has been on VM for years, her parents have the full VM TV package and pay £100ish/month... they wouldn't match this deal.
This thread/deal is a farce.
Every provider is not perfect. This goes for 3, EE, o2 etc.
Find the one that suits you most, be it price, tariff etc.
But dont moan and belittle others. Opinions are like Ar$e holes and looking here! theres plenty in this thread!
They're lying to you
They have targets to meet, and can use a combination of offers at their disposal for them to meet these targets.
I reckon most people have phones capable of 4g, whether they want it or not.
nothing to do with whether it actually exists or not :smirk:
Well done HUKD users...
After ringing yesterday I was offered and accepted the following.
£10 a month on a 30 day contract
2500 mins
unlimited texts
8GB 4G rollover
no 0870/0845
1 month credit
am happy with this....
the customer service rep suggested that she was aware of the HKUD post and that "it would be investigated"....may be worth taking the post down?
How can it be a deal when the item in question isn't obtainable to pretty much anyone?
Surely to qualify for a deal, it must be something tangible that is readily available?
This is not a deal. Well done to the OP, but this is still not a deal.
What about your current mobiles surely you all can't have a 4G ready phone?
I think a few people maybe missing a trick. Unless you've a recent high end iPhone, Samsung or Sony?
Just a thought?!
How this thread (not deal) has gotten so much heat is ridiculous.
If you are with them currently
As it is Retention you will have to phone them up to see if you can get this deal
Good luck
I phoned last night to get my PAC code from Virgin, woman asked why I was considering leaving, told her..she said they did not want to lose me as a customer and could do 1500 minutes and 2GB data for £9 (4G)...ermm.
Wife phoned them from work today, texted me to say she asked for the PAC code, guy at Virgin never even attempted to question anything for retention.
Good luck to the original poster for securing such good value.
(Took it from friends, when they got burgled and called their insurance)
I got offered £2 discount on top on the £15 which was a 'one off'
I had a contract which was rolling, and an agreement in writting that they would give me x discount until 2035 keeping my contract to £8 a month.. late last year they said I was getting too much discount and they were withdrawing it...
I hardly use my phone.....would probably use £5.00pm if I was on PAYG but I like the security of knowing I can never go over my unlimited allowances.
I just tried retentions.....best deal they offered me was £9.00pm for:
Mins: 1000
Data: 2GB
Texts: Can't remember but not really relevant as not many people text now (might have been unlimited)
They've got me by the balls!

Needless to say I politely declined.
Thanks OP at least it gives people a figure to aim for even if they don't have any chance of getting the same deal, you aren't Martin Lewis by any chance ??
(For the minority) you wouldn't visit a restaurant, give out at the first person you see or speak to. Then expect a good service? (I'd be expecting extra "toppings" on my meal)
They have 11£ deal for 2500 mins, unlimited text and 6gb 4g data. What exactly, are you trying to get?
Ibz100 don't stress worry etc , the call & deal would've been recorded and you'll got it in writing to you could take it up with them , Ofcom etc ....it's an individual deal spec for you
Good deal , well done ✌
Theres a funny bunch out there that would pay top dollar for a BMW or Mercedes. More for the prestige They think it brings. But want to pay peanuts for everything else..
If everyone did pay peanuts companies like SKY, VirginMedia, BT would be out of business within months. Then everyone would complain.
While I love HUKD and everyone loves a great deal as well as saving money. There are plenty that want it all for nothing.
Mini Rant / Observation Over
That offer of £5 wont be given to everyone unfortunately
Enjoy the great tariff.. plenty of great stuff you can stream and watch with 20gb. Especially with the data rollover.
Voted hot!
I'm currently on a £8/month tariff which includes double data (2GB instead of 1GB), but all he offered me was the same for £9!
Disappointed.
But then again this is exactly why you shouldn't post your tariff on here just in case they somehow pull the deal.
I've got a bad feeling I'm gonna lose my deal for posting on here
A simple google search would tell you that.
No consistency with VM anymore since their customer services nosedived in the recent past.
Great deal :sunglasses:
Ignore them OP
Doesn’t mean anyone else will get that deal... Infact they won't.
Hope you have better luck than I did!

In summary, give em some stick through retentions, they def want your custom!
Thank you.
heat added
impossible for anyone else to get
but good deal
add it to the wall, champ  heat added
Should've been HOT the first time, you've been a member for 5 years, you'd think that gives you credibility not to be shot down on a forum! Well done OP for bothering to re-post with proof!
