The DrivePro 200 records footage in Full HD 1080p at 30 fps for incredibly detailed and smooth playback. An extra wide-angle 160° view with 7 glass lenses captures the whole scene in high clarity.
With a large f/2.0 aperture, the TS16GDP200 automatically adjusts to different lighting conditions for a clear view, day or night.

I expect that it has a super capacitor rather than a battery. Super capacitors are much more reliable than lithium batteries in the extreme temperatures that occur during summer in a compact black bodied camera mounted under a raked glass windscreen in the summer sun, and li-ion batteries are typically not supposed to be charged at much over 45 Celcius so super caps are usually the preferred choice in dashcams.

I only drive/use mine at Weekends. Never had any issues with date resetting. Good Find ntw.
I would recommend a larger memory card though as the 16gb doesn't record a whole lot of driving on max settings. 64gb works great for me.

I find it to provide a clear pic, may not get intricate details like Reg plates with light glare etc... but not many dashcams will sub £100. It will definitely show something like a pedestrian stepping out in front of you in very dark conditions.

Just to add, if i'm sat at lights then it does indeed get Reg plates etc... It's just when in motion with oncoming vehicles approaching that it can lose a few details.

Can't you poke a long usb cable into the gap between the head lining and the windscreen. I'd recommend running it around the passenger side in case it ever come adrift.

Get one of these, much better as a dash cam that can be positioned so discreetly that it doesn't need removing constantly for the fear of theft.
Needs to be set up on a pc, or the app might be able to do that now, but it's brilliant and have one in each of our cars tucked away under the rear view mirror. Can't even see it from outside the car.
Cost is about the same as one of these too.

For quality this is a great dashcam, what makes it really strong though is it's size. It fits snugly behind my rearview mirror, and most people do not even notice it.
I wired the cable under the trim, down my driver door within the rubber door seal, and then under the carmat and into my charger - again a really neat way of dealign wtih it. The only bit of wire you see is a small section leading from my rearview into the ceiling trim.

I just bought a magnet phone holder off eBay. Stuck one part of it to the camera holder, and the other to the underside of the mirror. Looks like magnetic holders are now available through mobius themselves.
On my wife's car, i had to get the windscreen holder as the underside of the rear view mirror wasn't flat enough for a magnet to stick to it.
Can't see either of them from outside the car.

This is a great dashcam in my opinion. I have three of them. A front and rear facing in car and one in van. I have never removed them and not had any problems, front being located just left of rear view mirror.
With regards to the date, if I don't use a vehicle for a few days to a week then the date will reset. I believe this is not an issue on the newer version as it has a battery while this one does not. It is the only downside but it's not often I have this gap in usage.
I have all wires hidden in the lining and the two in car have been wired into fuse box so come on with ignition. Very easy and straightforward to do.

Hi, just wanted to check that you are definitely using a 64gb memory card?
The reason I ask is Transcend quotes this as having a maximum capacity of 32gb. I even contacted them as I wanted to use a larger capacity memory card but they told me I would be unable to.
MIDURIX
29 Mar 171#49
It's because they will have down that it takes SDHC cards which only go up to 32GB, that doesn't mean that it won't take SDXC cards which go a lot bigger.

That would depend on the car. Some larger cars have cigarette lighter sockets in the boot so the rear facing camera could be plugged in there. It would also depend on whether or not the socket is activated with ignition or if it's always on. If you have a car where the sockets go off and on with the ignition then your life is a lot easier.
You can also get adaptors for the sockets so you can plug more than one in if required.
I started off with only a forward facing camera but I soon realised that a lot of issues were happening behind me.

Excellent spot this - I have a pair of Kehans (front and rear) in my main car, and Transcend 200 in my MX5. I prefer lithium as if you do have an accident and the engine/power cuts or you simply switch it all off the battery will keep the dashcam running for a while allowing you to keep recording for a bit or reinstate power to carry on recording.
I've tried a capacitor version of a popular dashcam and could not get past the immediate shutdown upon even momentary power loss.

Bought one from Currys in Scarborough. Has WiFi and 16GB micro sd card. Updated firmware available on transcend website which takes it to v.2.3. App available on play store however extremly poor design and crashing often - tested on two phones. Currently have g1wh will try to do some side by side comparison. Was tempted to go with 220 but according to reviews is packed with features but optics are slightly worst than 200. Will report back my findings

I bought a 12v socket multi plug for my car so that I can use the sat nav when necessary with the dash cam too. Hid that under the glove box and you wouldn't know it's there.
Also my car lighter socket was always powered but I dismantled the console around the lighter socket - and the wire behind it had an ignition live loom taped up from the factory, which was handy and worth checking if you don't want it constantly on even when car is not in use

Nothing wrong with the Chinese cameras, in fact I have one now but the concern is if there is an accident, I'd always have a niggle that would the quality be ok or would it be valid video. And I think for the peace of mind, I would rather a branded product - if this Transcend failed, you would storm into the local branch and cause a scene. I'm not saying that would solve anything but you just feel a little safer with a big brand behind you.

I'd urge everyone with this camera to regularly check it is working. I had a crash and there was no footage of it. (There was footage of bits after the crash) When I looked at the SD card there was loads of missing trips. I upgraded the firmware, put a new card in and now find there are files that can't be read. I've contacted the manufacturer and being ignored.I WOUDLN'T BUY ONE now

the price of the Mobius seems to have gone through the roof, used to be about £45 and now it's about 70 something, I've no idea why that is. I might have my facts wrong.
I think the world gone mad, who in their right mind would invent a dashcam which is large and obvious that you have to take out every single time. I would think there would be a huge market for concealed dashcams. Apparently it's better to have something extra to carry every single trip to and from the car. I don't know why am writing like this it's not that much of a big deal of course.

I also got a cheap one from china, mine was one of the early sub £30 G1WH clones with the original chipsets (Novatek 96650 and AR0330 sensor), and is still working fine three years later, so must have been one of the better built copies, picture is excellent and genuinely 1080p, although it could now do with a new battery soldering in. The manufacturer of mine have since substituted a cheaper inferior chipset in their new g1wh(t) model, which is still being sold as a g1wh, so you do have to be careful when buying from china.
