Yes, there's always good handset deals though it's a bit like asking the shoe shop to guess the which shoes you will like. :stuck_out_tongue:

If your on a calling sim this won't be possible many people have tried to convert which was the best on the market till this data reward came thru. You will be best moving away and then back probably five credit talkmobile or Virginia come to hand talks is the better tariff. I won't be transferring my 200 gold number in though as legally you can't port out of a data sim I think most of the operators will let you eventually just ring back if you get a tellytubby you can initially easily port out of a 123 sim or pay remaining for contract.

I am a current Three customer. Does anyone know a way I can keep my number and also get this deal, as, as I understand it, you can't move numbers between contracts with the same company. Would I have to use PAC to go to a PAYG sim on another company, then PAC back to Three? I'd like to take advantage of the cashback rather than try and get retentions to match (which they won't).

Data speeds on Three are terrible these days. Too many subscribers and not enough network capacity.

I can second this. I ended up moving to Vodafone as I literally never got 4G data speeds in Glasgow (North Glasgow). When I left the guy kept saying that according to their coverage checker, my postcode should have very good 4G coverage. I assured him it didn't matter what the checker said, I don't get 4G.
So I would advise that, if you're in Scotland, you get a pay as you go sim and check the places you are most commonly (home, work etc) before you commit to 3.

This is great I can't fault the service coverage. Unfortunatelythey can't offer,a permanent rolling contract. I've taken the Ee deal 32gb 14.50 even though I'm overlapping my half price 11.50 deal I got last June. They might offer me a rolling to stay but after the one plan three can't be trusted only Ee can. For a few years I've had no problems with Ee 100mb free deal still waiting for three to duck everyone off on this 200mb free deal. Take the Ee deal if you can take this if you can't not voting either way

they wouldn't offer me anything except my pac code. Thought I'd do one last check of my 'exclusive offers' before using it and noticed they now had 600mins 8gb offer at £13 rather than the £15 they were previously sticking to. Maybe u need to get it pack code to get the better deals?! anyway, went with that

Thanks for letting me know mate. I contacted them again and reduced mine from £15 to £13. Can't believe how good they are to deal with. She went to ask her manager for approval, came back and tried to bump the minutes from 200 to 600 first. I said thanks but no thanks, then she was sweet done, £13. I've lived in a few countries before the UK and can tell you this is an excellent deal anywhere you go. Very happy. I think the key is to know what you want but also be polite and reasonable.

Thanks op. Just changed my deal to this one. Worth mentioning that if you pay another £4 pm you get the option of All you can eat data... So with the actual cashback (that's tracked for me of £45) makes it £20.45pm but 30gb is more than enough for me!
Thanks

it really is hit and miss with these things. Had paid £15/AYCE data/200mins for 2.5 years. Was told by the first rep (web chat) there was no way to keep the plan. Tried to tell me to call three instead of helping me. When asked if my issue was resolved, I said no. Then he immediately referred me to customer relations (retentions?). Asked to keep my current plan, 5mins later hes sorted it, same plan same cost, rolling no new contract. Stoked. Next day find out my mate got the same plan for £13.

I was in the same position with the same £15 being wound up by 3. I followed your technique to the letter and added that I had heard that the same deal was being offered for £13 a month. After a bit of polite negotiation was offered the £13 deal on a rolling contract with 4gb hotspot. 12gb would have been £17. Many thanks for the tip. Can anyone do even better?

3 Mar 17#47
Can anyone on this deal tell me, is the 30gb of data all you can use a month (using whilst on your phone and making your phone a hotspot) or is it 30gb of data and 30gb of hotspot usage?

4 Mar 171#50
30gb and you can use it how you like.
I got away with about 1gb tethering in the US before it stopped but in Italy, I tethered all the time we were there and it never stopped.

I said all I wanted was that 8gb deal for less than the £15/month offered to new customers and they've gone all the way through to giving me my PAC code. Only been with them 12months and never gone over my free mins etc, maybe not making enough money off me to offer any good deals!

Just lay it on thick with do you want my custom etc story. Did you speak to retention's as they the ones that hold the best deals. Any sim only deal posted on their website, can be bettered by the retention's team in my experiences with three. Ive been with them for a lot of years.

On 3 i currently pay £16 on a month rolling for feel at home 8gb unlimited minutes and texts, if i took it out over 12 months the price dropped to £11, that is through retention. Started about 3 weeks ago.

3 Mar 17#37
Looks like a good deal...
Be aware that there are three levels of scripted call centre folks to get through if you want to cancel after the contract expires and they will charge you for upwards of 30 days after you finally succeed in closing the contract (which, although I was successful, allegedly doesn't always mean the contract is cancelled).
I can't imagine ever signing up to a Three contract again.

tried to play the same tricks with me. Agreed to transfer my number to pay as you go on exact contract end date and now im free to get PAC code at will. Think I'll transfer back to three via another network to get quidco (on the 8gb 600min deal rather than this one). Bit of a pain but I need the feel at home and they refused to offer any discount for retention! Maybe I'm negotiating wrong!

I wouldn't 100% rely on getting cashback from "3". They refused to payout via quidco for my contract sim 4 years ago for no good reason. Can't complain about the mobile service and they are easy to haggle with once your contract runs out.

I have noticed 4G was only added in the last 5-6 months here in Northamptonshire where I live, and only in that time I've noticed it being more widely available nationwide.

from what i have read it does. The other interesting little snippet of information is that it states tethering is NOT possible when abroad in those 42 "feel at home" countries. however you can use the data abroad direct of your phone. Not sure whether it would still tether - someone will need confirm. Not even sure how they are able to distinguish.

I took out this deal in January when it was £18 a month, can't fault Three...
They transferred my mobile number over in less than 12 hours, and the coverage is as good if not better than EE.
I have ran numerous speed tests and always get over 25MB/S speed. Most occasions it has been 40-60MB/S.
Also loving the Feel At Home usage abroad, used it in Spain and Denmark so far and had excellent 3G coverage and speeds, (I think you only get 3G while abroad?)

very lucky you must have great 4G coverage, in Scotland its mostly 3G so very slow on Three, and non-existient indoor coverage indoors even in Glasgow city center.
Abroad how it works is all traffic is VPN'ed back to the UK with a per user speed cap so much slower than using a local sim even on 3G.
