Do you know how far along they are with CorsixTH now? Really interesting to get Theme Hospital updated and more modern system and screen friendly but last time I looked in on it (LONG time ago admittedly) it was only at a very early stage of development and seemed to actually offer less than the base game did already.
Will be very interested to go back to it if it's a lot better now.
Still a shame there isn't an official remake in the works though for those that don't like tinkering with mods (or even have a PC)....

I recently played Hospital Tycoon, Believe me when i say this, It's not worth it, Theme Hospital Despite being older would litterally kick the crap out of it with it's hands tied behind it's back, blindfolded and Drunk. Don't waste you time, it's a shallow imitation lacking any form of Depth, you can literally AFK the entire game after building the rooms.
Game play flow is
- Brief intro about a "storyline" "DR A likes Dr B... DR A Doesn't like Dr B" "Who could be the person causing all these horrendous problems that actually haven't effected the game in any way at all?"
- Load in, get given a small set of tasks, build X room, Cure *Insert random disease name*
- Build 1-2 rooms (Rest are pre built)
- Wait for patients to arrive,
- AFK 5-10 Minutes
- Come back and level complete
Now do this 12 times.

corsix have made some good updates in my opinion. played through about a year ago. machines now start smoking before blowing up giving you time to spot when they need repairing. you can zoom in and out which is handy. simple additions to gameplay such as better temperature gauges for radiators are most helpful. HD graphics make the game look as fresh as it did back in the day, users can now make their own campaigns although i never got round to trying so cant comment on that bit i believe you can download other peoples. my favorite addition is a simple one which allows you to custom make rooms.. no more are you limited to box rooms but instead can make rooms go round corners or even zig zag rooms if thats your style. the guys at corsix have done a really good job and i recommend anyone who liked theme hospital checks it out.

Fun Fact: Game designers said in an interview for Retro Gamer that they spent few days in some hospitals to get the feel of a real one when they started working on this game.
Which really makes it a NHS Simulator.

It is no longer being supported by its developers. I'm not even sure if its developers are still around. The more apt question would be, why is GOG still selling it?

The GOG version works in Dosbox, press ALT + ENTER to switch it to full screen mode. Then find scaling options in your monitor menu and set it to stretch or fill screen while keeping aspect ratio.
