I couldn't seem to find any issues online involving the game. I've reinstalled the game. Won't reinstall my system, but it's only this game series that has the issue (walking dead escapist and all dlcs have the r2 bug for me).
Sony said I'd need to speak to the devs and get them to confirm it's broken.
I wrote it off as a £10 loss as I purchased it during a sale last year.

Couldn't get escapist to work, r2 button doesn't register. I spoke to Sony and they refused to refund me.

Unsurprising. Sony are pretty much famous online for their unwillingness to refund digital purchases. Still seems a pretty massive bug to have got through to a released, patched and pretty mature (been out long enough for any problems to be spotted) game. I'd try a different controller if you have one. Otherwise get in touch with Team 17 or just write it off.
Sony's attitude with digital purchases stinks IMHO, but definitely not worth losing your entire account and game library, which they can say happens if you try and reverse the transaction via a chargeback....

You would think they might have got one in there but actually kind of refreshing, they are good but I think the franchise is a bit tired now, none of the recent entries seem to have added anything worthwhile, or even recaptured the games peak (around Worms Armageddon IMHO)...
