This is the lowest price the speaker has been on Amazon if you can avoid the post and packing. Seems to get good reviews.

Ha, that's the same one that convinced me to buy the Pulse X. Oluv knows his stuff.

Is this better than the anker one that was kicking about a few weeks ago?

Don't know which Anker speaker that was but this youtube review compares it against the Anker Soundcore Sport XL https://youtu.be/XJ2R0TJQJnM

Bought the great value for money Pulse X a couple of months ago and really like it. It has a real nice solid weighty build quality with a metal casing and enough volume to fill any standard size room. Placed near a wall to gain the most from the rear-facing bass radiator, it provides a really punchy sound with no obvious bass compression at high volumes. My daughter was impressed enough to immediately buy one for herself after hearing mine. Like all budget speakers, it can benefit from a little EQ tweaking - I increase the low to mid frequencies a little to suit my personal taste - but it compares very well to the sound quality of my other portable bluetooth speaker, the well-rated JBL Flip 3 which cost 4 times as much. I like it so much in fact, I have bought another one at this price . Even better, Taotronics are currently offering a free 18 month extended warranty on top of the standard 12 months warranty when you register the product.
It has been mentioned many times before by other members in other posts but if you do buy one, please use the RNLI link below to buy it as 5% of every Amazon purchase bought through the link goes to this important life saving charity (sorry HUKD but their need is greater than yours).
Received this today (I also own the £230 bose soundlink III) and am very surprised at this. Absolute bargain for £17! For the price the sound quality is surprisingly good.

I got one of these a while back for around £30 and it genuinely is pretty good - at this price it is a bargain!

Is this one of the speakers that have great sound but let down by a strange ON/OFF feature of a Woman's voice saying 'POWER ON/ POWER OFF' really loud and scary the living poo out of the user and the whole street?

A word to the wise, there are unnaturally fake reviews on Amazon UK for this product. I guess it's the same with alot of Chinese products.

Bought a Pulse x the other day, was considering the Anker Soundcore for £23 on a lightning deal but went for this as it has 14 watts over 6 watts, quite incredible sound for the size!

Can't vouch for this but I've got a couple of Taotronics bits, a bluetooth transmitter/receiver and a night light, both of which are really well made.
