Oh wow i never even realized they remade it for the ps2. I recenetly (1 yr ago) went back and replayed the original, and with (a whole ton) of mods I found the experience alright. I definitely agree it hasnt aged well, and to try get it to work with all the mods was a PITA. but it was just such a great game, rivaling half life when it came out years later. but i suppose we can say the same thign about that....not many people talking about the original half life/blueshift etc.... nowadays.

The original hasn't aged well graphically so I guess modern gamers haven't gone back to try it, even with the mods on offer. I actually owned it on PS2 and it's a surprisingly good port, a lot of work was put into making it play seemlessly with a control pad.

Perhaps not everyone has the amazing memories around DX1. I remember when it was released and my pc could BARELY play the demo. Upgraded a bit for the original and was simply an amazing experience.

How is this down to 10 and GTA is still over 30 lol. Aside from the replayability DX was the better game.

People are still willing to pay for GTA regardless of how much better this is, DX underperformed so much so we might not even get the 2nd half of the story.

Well its only half a game with a AAA price tag (originally) that has awful performance problems and ****, rip-off microtransactions. A real shame as the previous game is fantastic whereas this one ended up being a cynical cash-in of a well thought of series. Down to publisher greed rather than the developers imo.
I only payed a tenner for it and still feel Ive been stiffed ;-)
