Go for it, the dev deserves maximum support for this game, took them nearly five years to develop it, pretty much single handed and still getting support and new features now.
I've pre-ordered and will be the third time I've bought this game (PC Steam, PS4 digital and now PS4 Collectors Edition)...

So what is this? Some kind of RPG/2D Minecraft type thing?
Sounds pretty good if so.

It's a 2D RPG game about farming etc. in the vein of Harvest Moon, from what I gather

One man's labour of love. He couldn't find a Harvest Moon for PC so made it himself over 4 or 5 years.

What he means if in the description it's wrong as you've got it as £18.48 for non prime when it's £16.49 for non members and £14.49 (£2 off for prime)

There is £1.99 delivery charges for non-prime. I wrote the title based on price+delivery (mentioned delivered at the end). So £16.49+£1.99 is £18.48 delivered for non-prime. But as I said this is out in less than a month, a trial of prime should save you £4.

Have you tried it with a controller? Concerned it might play like crap without a mouse.

Oh I know, it's a very impressive game for one mans work, and like you say it's still getting updates etc, perfect example of what a game should be (plus you can get more hours for your £14 on this than a AAA game at £40)

I haven't, no, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's probably similar controls to minecraft.

I play with a DS4 on PC and it works well. There are maybe a few disadvantages but compared to using the touch-pad on my laptop it is a no contest.

I'd say a controller is by far the most natural way to play a game like this and would personally find a keyboard and mouse combo clumsy for a game like this. I have used the Xbox One controller and Dual Shock 4 on the PC version fine and the Dual Shock 4 on the PS4 version. The only issue I sometimes had on PC is the mouse cursor would sometimes override the characters actual on screen position e.g. when watering and you would water a patch you didn't want to but not a game breaker as the right stick allows you to move the cursor without a mouse.
Pretty sure the PS4 and Xbox One versions, being build more for controller doesn't even have this problem at all. Only slightly counter intuitive aspect of the console conversions is the fiddly little colour sliders you use at the start to set up character clothing and facial colours, thought they might have at least made the sliders bigger as making fine adjustment is really fiddly or found a more console friendly solution, hopefully they will look at this for a future patch but overall I'd say the game handles really well with a controller....
