Are you sure yours was the KS8000 , the back issues being reported are from the 7000 series from the research I did.
We have had this TV for 5 months now and it is simply stunning , the back is still firmly in place too , lol. No banding whatsoever on the sports on my set.
Paid £1665 for mine last October (without the free 4k blu ray player)

Good find OP! Around £250 cheaper than other major retailers, and you get the bluray player on top.
With the new 2017 QLED models that have just been released, I think we may see these 2016 UHD models start to drop in price.
Does anybody know if Currys will price match? I have some gift vouchers, and if they match, I might just bite.

Make sure you are reading reviews from the KS8000 , not the 6/7000 series as they are completely different in their build and seem to be the ones riddled with problems.
The KS8000 has great build quality , no issues whatsoever with mine and I've owned since end of October '16.

DO JL price match PRC as I am sure I've tried this before and they told me that they are an internet based company and not a bricks and mortar store and that although they have a showroom , this was not classed as a shop and was operated by a sister company or something iirc (it was a good while ago mind)

Nice one OP! This is smoking and now at my price point which I never thought it would get to with a 4K player thrown in! Only thing stopping me is that I've seen the Samsung QE65Q7F............ My TV is wall mounted and the HDMI cables are all in the wall don't support 4K so it means a load of hassle getting a new HDMI cable in whereas the Samsung QE65Q7F comes with a separate box and a thin connection cable which looks like a thick fishing line but it's gonna be another year until this years model is at it's best prices! Arggggggggggggg
Surprised we've not anyone saying you can get a 65" TV from ASDA for like £49.99 and it's the same quality! Trolls go to town on expensive TV's on hear but you definitely get what you pay for!

nice, only £50 more than I paid for my 7000, which has been a solid performer since I got it end of last year. I read all these issues but I guess I must have been lucky cos the back is fine, no bleed or judder. Just a spanking good picture, highlight was horizon on pspro. But everything looks great, well except sd at about 3m from the tv, that doesn't look so great

What are PRC Direct like as a company?, cant say I've come across them.
If they still got the same 'showroom' it's sat directly behind Heavies on the Hill which is a clothes shop for fat fxxks down Hilldene, call me petty but it's just left a negative impression on me for life :smirk:

This tv is stunning. If you are attempting to Google reviews you might as well put in KS9000 as most 8000 reviews are from non UK and referring to the 7000 series which is badged the 8000.
rooney10 to Sgbull

Yes. They have it up for £1849 and couldn't believe the PRC offer. Literally just come out of Sheffield shop from ordering.
I initially phoned their telesales but they couldn't match it but said they could instire. Spoke to the manager and he ok'd it so I rushed over to place the order.

JL said they cannot price match their bundle with the soundbar as it's not like-for-like. Trying to get Richer Sounds price match, but they claim the 5 year warranty PRC are offering does not apply to the bundle package, and instead only the standard 1 year warranty applies. i don't know how they know this...I'm trying to get more details from PRC (if they ever pick up the phone!!)

31 Mar 17#64
Ah thats a shame - glad I made the trip yesterday then.
Thats definitely not true and RS are stating that incorrectly, as its a Samsung extended warranty on this TV anyway. Push RS as they should honour, they did me with no problems
nick_p
31 Mar 171#65
Finally got RS to beat the price by £20 after ALOT of back and forth. Hopefully it'll be worth it!
Also, worth mentioning that RS do take payment via the phone but only from a card with the same billing and delivery address. The other option to pay over the phone was a bank transfer, which is what I opted for as my nearest store isn't all that near to me.

Do they collect tv if you are not happy with picture ?

31 Mar 171#72
Just ordered as the free Blu-ray player is back.
Noticed this in the delivery section - If you have ordered a large TV (50 inches screen size and above) or large appliance (washer, dishwasher, refrigeration, cooker etc.), at the point of delivery you MUST unpack the goods and check for any physical damage. Any physical damages have to be noted on the driver’s delivery note before leaving and PRC must be notified by email immediately to . If any physical damages are reported after the delivery and not noted on the driver’s delivery note, the customer will be responsible and PRC will NOT accept any returns. Therefore, it is very important you unpack the goods and check for any physical damages at the time of delivery. The driver can assist you to unpack the goods if required.
Never had to do that accepting a delivery before :-/

I got a Samsung soundbar, which as a bit of an audio snob is not the easiest confession to make, but I bought it in a Sunday special on Media Markt whilst still in Austria about 18 months ago.
It was a €450 one going for a shade over half price in a flash sale event. By all accounts it is one of their superior ones, definitely rated much higher than this one John Lewis are giving away, but in my opinion it's rather moderate bordering pony when it comes to performance so definitely flog the thing.
Having just moved to a new abode with plenty of more 'important' things to be sorting for the home before turning the double garage in to a man cave I've been informed in a most stern manner multiple speakers round the living room and it's ceiling ain't happening :smirk:
Not prepared to put up with another extended period of time with the said sxxxty Samsung soundbar I have done much research on higher end options to tie me over for the next year or so.
Denon Heos have mental software problems like even with keeping it in the one room, Sonos as good as they are seem to be overpriced to ridiculous proportions, the Dali Kubik One seems to be the part but everything I have read about soundbars keeps sending me back to Yamaha and nobody is giving one of them away for free with a telly unfortunately.

Hi All,
Does anyone know how long the cable is for one connect box to the TV?
I've got them to price match the TV and the 4K Blu-Ray player for £1499. Still undecided what to do but in theory I could order the TV and get the free soundbar as well and then claim the money back but not sure if JL would honour the refund if I got greedy and went for the sound bar. Price match is valid for 28 days I believe.
Says on the website the free soundbar offer is on until 9th May 2017.
Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what you'd get more for when it comes to selling the soundbar and/or player but as someone who has owned an HW-J650 for over a year now I wouldn't recommend a Samsung soundbar.
Looks pretty, decent connections n features blimey my one even has multiroom but sound wise it really ain't cutting it and that is the main reason you're buying the thing for.
To anyone who has got one with this deal I say sell the thing and put the money towards something better, I know it's more dough to weigh on but why buy such a top telly and then not have quality sound when watching it?

Everything seems to be out of stock online but when you go instore they usually have it there or confirm there's stock of what you're after at the main dc in Milton Keynes.
Having spent around 10k with JL on items ranging from Kärcher jet washers to leather sofas over the last couple of months we've become accustomed to the rather strange quirks of their system.
Even calling CS can prove to be fruitless, it's never out of stock till the assistant on the shop floor says it is :man:

5 Apr 17#116
You very welcome mate, it is of course my own personal opinion and the one they giving away with in this offer is different to the one I bought.
That all said n done they are both at around the same price point, if anything my one is slightly 'superior' if online reviews are anything to go by.
I bought the 65 inch XE9005 last week and am very much in the market for improved sound now. I am going to make an appt with Richer Sounds in Nottingham for later this week or early next week to pop in there and do some personal testing.
I keep going back to the YSP-5600 researching the web which I know the Nottingham branch don't even have for testing but it's a hefty price and I'll most likely want to upgrade it with an additonal sub. Alas I'll have to get more realistic which makes the YSP-2700 the most likely candidate, especially seeing we get 12% off at JL and they do that model. Or possibly wait to see what Denon have got up their sleeve if they settle their legal dramas with Sonos and this mythical super soundbar they're meant to have waiting in the wings gets the green light to hit the stores.

Do I need it if I'm just plugging my TVs HDMI into an AV receiver?
thekingbeyond
5 Apr 171#118
There are no hdmi on the actual tv, most connectors like hdmi, usb, optical, aerial and satellite connectors are on the one connect box, so to connect the tv to your receiver by hdmi then it gets plugged into the one connect box hdmi arc

It's only now since we've moved to our new gaff very recently that it's sat in the corner which I am most aware is the worst place for it to be. Once the blind and shutter people have been in to do their thing my AV unit will be moved to a far more suitable location, just in time for the arrival of a far more superior sound device

Cheers for this, I've took the plunge and just paid the extra £20 for next day delivery so it's coming here tomorrow, cannot wait, not sure what the Mrs will say, it's replacing a 48" and she moaned that was too big! I'll have it hooked up to my Denon AVR-X2200W and my Jamo A102 7.1 surround sound which is still going strong despite it's age! Just hope my existing wall bracket fits
I feel really nervous as it's a bit purchase but at this price point with a 4k Blu-Ray Player included it's a steal and will last me a good few years whilst OLED sorts it's self out. Will never be able to afford or justify 3.5k on a LG OLED so this is perfect.

Good luck, least the price match is valid for 28 days. I'll let you know how I get on and how it looks against a 2014 48" Samsung 6400 series which cost me about £700... hopefully it looks the nuts!

Now need to convince the Mrs to move the 48" Samsung upstairs to replace the 40" one in our bedroom! That's gonna be harder than installing the 65" beast!:smiley:
Alas Mrs Loyal is not willing to compromise on numerous speakers around the lounge, not even if it's done properly by a mate who is an AV installer by trade. Hence when house hunting began I sold my Onkyo 609, Kef eggs and Q Acoustics sub around a year ago knowing their days were already numbered :disappointed:
Lucky to get my consoles in the front room here as it is, everything else will have to wait till we got the finances to turn the double garage in to my 'brat bin' with the know-how and work of a builder friend.
Like is the norm in most homes what the missus rules goes and seeing I got so much gaming memorabilia I've collected over the years I do reluctantly accept I need a separate man cave like project to accommodate it all so once that is done I can consider better sound options again too

Just arrived this morning. Boy does it make my 55" look small. Not fully set up yet just quickly tested. Looks very nice. However, any HD content in streaming services seem to be pretty poor picture (SD quality). This is probably down to my extremely awful broadband speeds though and the fact the TV is a lot bigger.
Overall I'm pretty happy but the mrs is of the 'its too big' opinion. I am opposite thinking the 55 now looks too small! Also, looking at the pic below, the colours seem more defined on the Samsung

7 Apr 17#146
It's a beast mate, it'll take a while to unpack, doubt they'll wait while you do this. If you spot anything afterwards you are quite within your rights to get it replaced. This is why I've gone with John Lewis as in the past it's been very easy to get any issues sorted with items (never had an issue with a TV).

Unpacked mine yesterday, wow it's huge and made my 48" look tiny. Mrs was like, WTF! She said you've done me there, it's like a cinema screen! I Said that's the idea!
Kids absolutely love it.
The picture is first rate for HD, Blu-Ray and 4K. Standard TV looks very smooth but that's as expected due to the number of pixels having to be used from such a small source. The HD Disney films just look amazing, cannot wait to see a 4K Blu-Ray in action. As it's such a big screen, when you watch something you've watched loads of times you pick out so much detail and stuff you've not seen before. This TV will more than keep me happy for a number of years whilst OLED sorts itself out, that's me out of purchasing TV's for a good number of years!

I ordered Planet Earth 2 4K HDR blu-ray from Zoom over the weekend to test out on my new telly and the Xbone S which bricked last night when I fired it up.
Done all the physical re-boot, downloaded an offline update on to a flash drive, installed and applied it but dead mans. It's a storm grey 500gig one I got Black Friday week, so already started the repair process with MS. They send it to Germany with UPS so will be without I for quite a while and the agent said they don't even credit you the amount of time you lose on your Gold sub any more which is shockingly pxxs poor.
One of the white FIFA bundle ones I had before that had fan issues instantly but I managed to flog that to CEX for a fiver more than I paid for it from Tesco.
I am not alone in these constant dramas, seem to be bundles of problems with the S since it launched :disappointed:

Well finally set up (sort of). Had a mate round yesterday to help me wall mount it to find out the wall mount screws were missing in (previous house owner left the mount but not the screws!). So its currently setup awaiting some M8 screws.
The TV is fantastic though, very impressed. Love the voice search, the speed of use is very good as well. The sound has impressed me as well although huge differences - for example on Spotify, I've got it at about 18. On Sky it has to be about 70. Still debating a soundbar/soundbase
But overall a brilliant TV and thanks to the OP for the original pointer

Hi, just to reconfirm the free sound bar was available as a JL offer but has now ended. If someone else has this on offer you may still be able to get JL to Price Match. But then the real issue is the model on offer went out of stock hence the ending of the online deal. If you can find one at a JL store you may be able to get what you want.

We have had this TV for 5 months now and it is simply stunning , the back is still firmly in place too , lol. No banding whatsoever on the sports on my set.
Paid £1665 for mine last October (without the free 4k blu ray player)
Nearly bought the KU6400 yesterday but this seems so much better for the money
With the new 2017 QLED models that have just been released, I think we may see these 2016 UHD models start to drop in price.
Does anybody know if Currys will price match? I have some gift vouchers, and if they match, I might just bite.
The KS8000 has great build quality , no issues whatsoever with mine and I've owned since end of October '16.
found nothing to complain about, love it.
To those who say this doesn't come with the free Blu-Ray player, scroll down to the package deals.

Surprised we've not anyone saying you can get a 65" TV from ASDA for like £49.99 and it's the same quality! Trolls go to town on expensive TV's on hear but you definitely get what you pay for!
But damn, my registered card is expired and takes 24hrs to activate my newly added one. Can I wait that long lol
https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.prcdirect.co.uk
I initially phoned their telesales but they couldn't match it but said they could instire. Spoke to the manager and he ok'd it so I rushed over to place the order.
Now stupidly realisedI bet they could have sorted payment over the phone and saved myself an hours round trip! Oh well.
Glad I dashed over this afternoon and didn't wait until tomorrow now!
http://www.rgbdirect.co.uk/Products/Television/LED-TV/SAMSUNG/UE65KS7000 for £1299?
Some say the KS7000 is pretty close to the 8000
I just dont know what to go for.
KS8000 @ £1500
KS7000 @ £1300
Hisense 65M7000 @£999
I said it could out of stock while I drive over, which I think it has again , so no good to me
Thats definitely not true and RS are stating that incorrectly, as its a Samsung extended warranty on this TV anyway. Push RS as they should honour, they did me with no problems
Also, worth mentioning that RS do take payment via the phone but only from a card with the same billing and delivery address. The other option to pay over the phone was a bank transfer, which is what I opted for as my nearest store isn't all that near to me.
Did you get the free bluray player as well?
Thanks
Spent a lot of the day trying to get price matches from JL, Currys and RS...eventually RS came through for me. Good luck!
I can't see it happening only by a possible error
Paid the extra £20 for premium delivery, booked for Monday,so I'm well happy
Do they collect tv if you are not happy with picture ?
Never had to do that accepting a delivery before :-/
had a look at the set in currys and i liked what i saw.
i guess if i do order from JL the free sound bar package would still apply even with pricematch.
Thanks op
May sell on the soundbar if ebay give me a good offer next weekend.i already have a soundbar.

Initially could access my files upon setup from going to Source and then choosing my pc name . Now all folders inside there are empty :S So far Plex has been the only workaround. Or is there any Samsung Apps i should be using ?
I've personally transferred my Bluray rips to an external hard drive, plugged that straight into the USB port and the TV plays everything without any issues.
Richer Sounds price matched with the Blu Ray.
Had it delivered today.
Awesome TV.
Its replacing a Hisense 65inch which has moved to the bedroom, so far everything looks better with good screen uniformity, haven't noticed any dse or banding yet, just need to calibrate it now.
Mine should be delivered later this week, and is replacing a 10 year old LCD so a little behind on the know-how here!
Avforums is a good place to look
I would really love to have the soundbar and woofer for the same price.
Many thanks!
Does anyone know how long the cable is for one connect box to the TV?
Thanks
https://www.johnlewis.com/never-knowingly-undersold
I've got them to price match the TV and the 4K Blu-Ray player for £1499. Still undecided what to do but in theory I could order the TV and get the free soundbar as well and then claim the money back but not sure if JL would honour the refund if I got greedy and went for the sound bar. Price match is valid for 28 days I believe.
Says on the website the free soundbar offer is on until 9th May 2017.
Hope this helps.
Shame cos I want the TV with the soundbar not the blu-ray
Only the white one, not happy.
checked product code i was given on price match and it is the tv which says free soundbar, so i should be alright.
looking forward to tv thursday
Il also be checking the settings on av forum when the set arrives.
http://uk.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q7f
i did know it definitely wasn't worth double the price of this set tho!
Sorry to ask but how are you getting on with the TV? Any chance you can advise how long the One Connect Box cable is?
Looks pretty, decent connections n features blimey my one even has multiroom but sound wise it really ain't cutting it and that is the main reason you're buying the thing for.
To anyone who has got one with this deal I say sell the thing and put the money towards something better, I know it's more dough to weigh on but why buy such a top telly and then not have quality sound when watching it?
Having spent around 10k with JL on items ranging from Kärcher jet washers to leather sofas over the last couple of months we've become accustomed to the rather strange quirks of their system.
Even calling CS can prove to be fruitless, it's never out of stock till the assistant on the shop floor says it is :man:
I couldn't tell any difference looking at the ks7000 and ks8000 in currys side by side, but the free uhd bluray swung the ks8000 for me.
My Samsung soundbar may look pretty and it sits nicely too but the sound is rather two bob. Previously in the old gaff it was sat in the centre of the lounge and still sounded pants.
It's only now since we've moved to our new gaff very recently that it's sat in the corner which I am most aware is the worst place for it to be. Once the blind and shutter people have been in to do their thing my AV unit will be moved to a far more suitable location, just in time for the arrival of a far more superior sound device

There it is in all it's glory and more than 24 hours on I've still not received my email from UPS to print off my shipping ticket, really REALLY getting the hump about it now but will leave it till the morning.

I've actually had a chance to test drive it now and you won't get anything under a grand come even close as far as I'm concerned, seems which? agree too...
