Yes and unless you're going to or are doing something very illegal, governments don't have the resources to waste time monitoring you.
Somewhere there's a conspiracy theorist that refuses to buy a Samsung because the government might monitor him watching bake off while eating a bakewell tart.

I had to pay full price of 479 as per John Lewis website and they agree to match the sale price of £ 379 by Argos and not the £ 341with discount code as they
say that the Argos code of Tv10 is not available to general public through Argos website. The difference of 479-379=100 will be paid back by filling the price match form on John Lewis website.

You are right of course and I was half joking with my if you have nothing to hide comment. Only half as in reality, I don't care who looks in on me. I happen to live in a tourist area in a "chocolate box" house and passers by stare at us constantly. Doesn't bother me n the slightest but drives the Mrs up the wall.
I do however wonder how secure the feeds are with all these cheap IP cameras which use remote servers to send you your feed. Again, I'm not bothered if someone wants to share my view of my pussy on its litter tray but perhaps some would be more concerned.

If they're spying on me, the most excitement they'll get is me picking my nose and scratching my balls. I'm with the Eagerbeaver on this, stop being so bloody paranoid, the chances of someone being bothered to spy on a no one like you and I are so remote you have more chance with the lottery.

If you have nothing to hide then do you give a **** who is using the camera thing. If it was sold as an integrated baby monitor perhaps people would feel less worried.

There's something called privacy in our lives - it's an universal human right regardless of having something to hide or not.

There must be a happy crowd staring into your house all day. Privacy is the default expectation in a free society. Lack of privacy is for totalitarianism.
The "if you have nothing to hide" bull is just that. Asinine bull.

Has anyone found some instructions for disconnecting or covering up the microphone/camera on Samsung TVs? The code that lets your remotely listen/view via the tv is due to be leaked soon, so I'd prefer to disable mine now. I know you can turn it off in the menus but the hack will easily override that.

Yes, if you go to B&Q, buy a hammer, I believe the microphone is just underneath the bottom of the set, give it a few whacks, hopefully the hack shouldn't override this, use some grey masking tape to hide the damage. God really, are people worried about their TV sets being bugged! Just buy another make of TV if this is keeping you awake at night.
