I have to disagree I'm afraid.
Apple only give their iPhones a 12 month warranty for a reason. Even they believe after 12 months they could develop faults. iPhones are expensive purely for the word before it. 'Apple'.
Brand names are expensive.

This deal looks great. However, realistically, will the price drop significantly when the S8 is released in April? Did the S6 drop a lot in price when the S7 was released?
I do need a new phone and I am leaning towards the S7, but I am not sure whether to wait until after April or not. Tough decisions!

That's a good deal, wish they had a plan with less data for a lower monthly cost.
Weirdly I can't find this offer on their site, only by clicking through the link.

I want the opposite lol, as much data as possible and virtually no texts and very few minutes!
But I can not find any company doing a package like that haha

I looked for an S6 edge deal a little while back and found a lot were more expensive (at the time) Personally I think if you want an S8, just wait. You might see a small decrease on the S7s but i can't see it crashing down any time soon tbh
lancer191 to BambooBadger

I'd wait. Even if the s8 isn't worth the money it'll effect the s7 prices

Probably S8 will be expensive at beginning I don't think will be any pay monthly contracts under 45-50£

I work with phones on a daily basis.
The S7 Edge will fall slightly in price around when the S8 is released. But it will fall harder around September once the new IPhone is released.
Personal opinion. I would say wait a month to see the slight price decrease then go for it.

Been using three and feel at home the past few years while abroad. Do EE include mins/data abroad/roaming or do you need to pay for a hefty add-on?
BambooBadger
1 Mar 17#8
Thanks for the feedback, I thought that might be the case, I didn't think the s7 would crash down in price suddenly when the s8 is released. I might just wait until April though ☺ Thanks.

EE have one of the worst roaming policies going. 3 is by far the best, or Vodafone (Red) if you're pushed.
EU roaming charges change significantly in June this year. Networks are no longer allowed to rip their customers off with crazy roaming charges, applies to all networks in the EU (for as long as the UK is still a part of it!)
boostii
1 Mar 171#11
With EE, when in Europe I can call local numbers in the country I'm visiting and also numbers back in the UK as part of my inclusive minutes. Don't know what 3 offer, but I that was fairly generous?
BenderRodriguez to boostii
2 Mar 17#31
EE has free data roaming, far more useful for everything even as basic as a map.
minus222 to boostii
2 Mar 17#38
I'm not sure about calling local numbers but your minutes apply to calling back to the UK, and most importantly when away for me is the data applies. Do you need to buy a bundle to use data abroad at a competitive price with EE rather than just using it without saying to them first ?
It's the one thing that appeals to me inparticular about three when abroad. Ive noticed some networks charge by mb which is just crazy to me.

Thanks, yeah that's what I'm hoping for. as long as it drives the s7 prices down I'll be happy!
abhijitdash123
1 Mar 171#14
Pretty sure, in the first month they will push prices of s7 down to boost sales of S8. Worth waiting now rather than buying just before a new phone is launching

Don't remember prices of the S6/S6 edge going down that much per month for ages after the S7/S7 edge came out and same goes for S5 when S6 came out etc ( but i could be wrong ) also this plan of £31 a month with 5GB is easily the cheapest by £6 or £7 a month as far as i've seen so don't think it will drop much lower or at all even when the S8 comes out.

Why would the price reduce lots when the s8 launches? Surely they want you to buy the s8 and not a cheap s7. I'm not saying it won't drop but I wouldn't expect a massive saving.

I think this phone is so ugly and Samsungs modern phones are unreliable my friend had S6 edge had no end of trouble with getting it to just charge up!. Had my iPhone SE now since release no problems whatsoever and they don't readily abandon updating your phone a year or two after purchase like Seems to be the case with Android phones, iPhones are expensive for a reason you get Long term support and updates, your phone will last and last, and not depreciate as bad as Android handsets.

Not a single one of my friends or family with iphones have had a battery on one last over 18 months some even within first couple of months iphones are notorious for having crap batterys although on the plus side they usually get replacements relatively hassle free either through apples own replacement program or consumer law

Data usage comes out of your plan allowance in all countries listed below (same for calls and texts):

Haha yeah I need the morning coffee to get my brain going. I have a three data only SIM with three for my tablet. It just seems the most economical and hassle free to me be it travelling in or out with EU (I know they are scrapping roaming charges in EU this year but still). There may well be better deals on better networks but I've yet to fully research it and I'm usually met with uncertainty whenever I try and the three network has worked just fine, I.e in the US etc.

Still awaiting mine ( Coral Blue ) which was ordered on Fri, Only Black & Gold in stock now with a 2-3 day ( allegedly ) wait for the Blue & white versions AND this deal now has a £69 upfront cost for all colours.
Yep. Deal seems to have expired. I might have suggested that the "deal" was actually a mis-price bearing in mind where the prices are now at but I spoke to two people at Affordable Mobile on Saturday (both of whom were very helpful), and there was no indication or suggestion that anything unintentional had occurred. Fingers crossed my phone does arrive, though.
