If it helps anyone, I have already asked Samsung what the colour difference is between each of the models:
This is in response to your email regarding the query with the G series fridges.
Please see below detail that I have gathered regarding the G series differences. Below each model code is the link so you can view detailed information regarding each fridge's specifications.

Missed this by a couple of days... gone up loads since; anyone know if these are likely to drop again (or something similar?) This was a smoking deal!
Thanks

I think it will be back at some point. I'd suggest taking a look at a website called Price Spy. You can have a look at how often the price falls and set an alert when it gets to your target price. One thing it doesn't account for is vouchers and cashback so you'll have to check that out separately!

We have this same fridge/freezer which was bought from AO in March 2013.
We had the stainless steel one replaced twice for compressor failures in late 2014 and then again in late 2015 (we got £150 from AO as a goodwill payment for lost food). We then changed to the black version with the hope that the compressor fault was limited to the stainless steel version (plus another £200 goodwill payment from AO for inconvenience) and we have had the full door replaced since due to a fault with the ice maker.
Something to note is that they do not have their own service agents, so you have to rely on the local company they appoint. While all 3 issues were dealt with by the same company, the first two were handled exceptionally well, the door replacement was done by an ignorant guy who started swearing very loudly in front of my children and throwing tools around after the door wouldn't close properly. He was chased out the door and the original guy turned up and sorted the issue later the same day and without any problem.
While the fridge is huge and is great when it works I cannot say I would recommend it.

Fantastic fridge freezer and fantastic price. Got one in august after watching the prices for a good bit and jumped at the chance to get it for £950 ish. No regrets at all about choosing it.

These water and ice dispensing fridges pay for themselves very quickly in my experience and if mine is anything to go by they are better put together than the cheaper variety

Another thumbs up for this beast from me.
We got one from AO about 18 months ago.
The plumbed in water and ice is lovely (the only down side is that you can't replace the water for white wine - but then who'd want to do that...).
When they delivered ours they had to have 2 goes as they needed to take the doors off to get it in the house, and the first time they wouldn't as it was "raining".
This may depend a lot on the delivery drivers.
The filters are expensive if you get the OEM ones, but the last ones we got were these (Amazon link) which worked out less money for 2.

This is a good idea, thank you.
Although neither the original code (AOCODE50) nor your code (MSEAO50) seem to be working - 40APPLIANCE gives £40 off, so not quite as good but not bad.

Any idea how long these discounts will be available?

I think the voucher given in the OP expired a couple of days ago, however there is a new code that should be valid - MSEAO50 (sorry, this one has expired too, but try 40APPLIANCE for £40 - credit to pledmonds for that code)
In terms of how long this will stay at this price, I'd suggest not more than a couple of weeks at most. The price last changed on 15th March, reducing from £1149 to £999 and then changed to £899 this week. Given that this is now around £100 below the market price for this (or the other very similar) fridge-freezers, I wouldn't expect it to stay this low for long.
You may be interested to note that with AO you can specify delivery up to about six weeks after purchase, so you could in theory order now for delivery in May and cancel at any time in between. This will also protect you in the now very unlikely event that the price goes lower still in the meantime since AO will price match themselves up to seven days after delivery.

Anyone know what the difference is between this RSG5UCRS model and the RSG5UUMH at Currys (£1399) or the RSG5UURS at John Lewis (£1649!!). I'm struggling to spot the difference, but there has to be SOME corner cutting with this AO model... I need to order tonight!

I was looking at those too. The differences I came up with were the colours - AO's is more of Stainless Steel rather than a Nickel effect with the Currys version (I preferred AO's colour actually). The door handles are also different between the models. Apart from that I couldn't see any difference.

As alexbouca has said the difference is in the colour and doors, although as far as I have been able to work out one model is slightly older than the other, although I'm not sure which and both seem to be current.
If anything the RSG5UCRS is the best available as this is real stainless steel (RS - Real Steel), and apart from the doors is the same as the John Lewis version. I prefer the John Lewis version but who could justify that price difference for different doors!!
The Currys version (RSGUUMH) seems to just be a uniquely numbered version of the RSG5UCSL (where SL = steel look). The benefit for Curry's being they don't have to price match because it's not the same model(!). The RSG5UCSL is widely available for £999 at the moment (and also qualifies for £100 cashback from Samsung) with codes to bring it down further, but not to £849. Otherwise it's identical to the RSG5UURS.
In case you haven't guessed I've been looking at these for sometime! I actually have this model on order from AO.com from back when the price was £1149, but I'm pleased to say they've 'promised' to credit the difference after it's delivered in a few weeks time.

Awesome fridge, bought this when my other fridge freezer finally bust.
Plumbed in water and ice is used every day by whole family.
We use it to fill my daughter water bottle full of ice and water so that it stays cold for longer at school as we find she tends to drink more if it chilled.
