I've got 20 since panels to do in my garden, is this paint ok to use? Any recommendations over this? I'd be heartbroken if I did my whole garden using this paint and found afew weeks later the paint begins to peel off...

I can recommend Creoseal, it's about £36 for a 20 (I think, possibly 25) litre drum. Physically soaks into the wood so it looks great and lasts ages.

Is the fence life plus + not better with up to 5 years protection
So I've tested the paint during the weekend and I've done 6 new panels once and 1 of those twice on Saturday as the weather was nice. On Sunday it rained but the paint is still on the panels. I agree you need two coats otherwise you can still see some of the previous colour of the panels (natural wood in my case). I'm just waiting for the right weather to give them another coat. I still have more than half of bucket which is good.

Decent price. But even cheaper at home bargains if you have one nearby. Picked 2 up last week for £6 each.

Did my shed and fences with this last year on both new and weathered timber and it's decent stuff BUT you really need 2 coats so 6sqm/ltr should really be 3sqm/ltr.

Personally I stick my head in the bucket to get a big fat shot of the smell.
Hmmm lovely wood tar. :stuck_out_tongue:

I bought before the 5 years Ronseal paint (more expensive than this) and it was OK and the paint on those panels is still going strong. So I'm hoping this will do the trick at a much better price. Thanks for your feedback.

That's if you can put up with the toxic stink of creosote. I personally think it should be banned.

I bought some last year but noticed rain wasn't forming droplets on the fence I painted.
Got some Creoseal and it soaked through this stuff and into the wood.
That's quite a big clue for you as to how good it is.

This is water based, so all it does is cover the surface of the wood in a colour; rain will still soak into it.

You might want to read again the description "All-weather protection, will stand up to rain, frost and snow". I don't know how good it is but I've just bought some and I will give it a go as soon as the weather allows me to.
