Thanks for the reply. That's one mystery solved.
I'll have to keep an eye out. Have never managed to find one of these deals yet, but will keep looking.

Can I ask the OP how they initially find these deals? Do you just go to a site at random and check lots of dates on the off chance? Or do you have some hint that there might be a very cheap deal available? I can't for the life of me think of how you might have come across this £5 deal without knowing it was already there - unless you just randomly visit Wizz and plug in dates on the off chance.
Thanks

Showed up on Skyscanner initially but then it wouldn't show up the £4.98 seats, went onto Wizzair and tried a few dates and hey presto....

Looks like they just ran a a limited promotion with just around 40 to 100 seats at £3 just to create hype and get every one talking about wizzair . social media marketing taktics free advertising
people who got in early will have their seats issued everyone else can fly in cargo. lolz

Are you still getting these prices? It's coming up at 9.99 for your example dates for me, wondering if it's cookie related as I've been signed in as a Discount club member (can't clear them as I'm on a work computer)

It's easy enough to go to Sofia bus station - clean, shiny and newish compared with 20 years ago - and get a bus to Varna, Plovdiv, or the other way into Skopje in Macedonia. The bus station has a non-stop café upstairs which is handy for hanging around waiting in winter months.
Trains are a bit of a nightmare in Bulgaria so most locals use buses between cities - some long distance ones also start their journey at night, so depending on arrival time you don't always have to wait long.

Great price, but then you have to add luggage which makes it expensive.

I cant even get the bus to my local town for that price, or park my car for a couple of hours for that price. How on earth can they fly you over there at that price. Absolute bargain, we are looking to go away for a long weekend around the 10th Nov so hopefully they will have our dates.
Thanks op

What a price! Shame it's only from. Birmingham. Tried other airports but no joy. Sofia is wonderful to visit, so many great bars and restaurants at knock down prices.

November and December will be cold, so wear your heaviest stuff and travel light..... thinner clothing can be cheap enough over there to buy a couple of bits in the city.

Quite agree...,that's more or less what I done a few years ago and loved spending several years living and working there.
Sofia is a great city, with no gangs of drunken louts fighting and vomiting at night like they do here, and I hardly ever saw a policeman actually have to make an arrest in all the time I was there, and that was roma females for thieving from tourists.
Why did I return...... long story, and I still wonder why !
