Great little tablet, also (as long as power settings are set correctly in Windoze) the battery life is brilliant.

We've had a couple of different versions of these - I even ended-up being stuck using one as my daily driver for a while: I was impressed with what it actually managed to keep up with (Photoshop/SketchUp)*... obviously it'll struggle if you try to have to many things on the go at once (the 2GB RAM sees to that) but I genuinely believe it's good enough for most casual users.

The battery on mine has died completely after about 18 months and replacements don't seem to be available unless anyone knows otherwise. It will not run at all once it thinks the battery is too low even with a charging cable plugged in.

Its not dead it probably safe-mode lock it happened to me but learned linx has safety shutdown lock, that's why it thinks its dead also when you charge your tablet turn it off then charge it should charge really quick.

You'd have to pop the hood, check battery power / physical size etc. and try fleabay which has generic spares. May involve soldering two wires. But if it means that much...

the battery life on mine was pretty rubbish, I plugged in a two usb to micro usb to charge it while I played with it. it KILLED it :disappointed: thankfully it was under warranty and was replaced. it does get really warm while charging though

Do these have full size USB ports? I'm looking online and find variations.

These don't, the 1010 model for 69.99 does.
These can be upgraded to windows 10.
Before it stopped working mine would not talk to a microsoft tv dongle which my wife's 1010lite from sainsburys (which I am using now) would talk to.

I have run one of the chrome os distros off a usb on it.
WRONG AGAIN! - You can install a superb emulator for the PC called REMIX-OS on this tablet. Its superior to all other emus out there including BLUESTACKS.
You may need an additional memory add on or use a USB key

I'd get a 1010 with the keyboard for a few quid more. I've owned this and a 1010 and a I really regret selling the 1010.

My one just died on me. Personally i wont buy this again. However my linx 7 is still rocking.
I'd spend the extra £20 on the 1010 with dual USB ports. It's a real shame they went 720p on this but for the money you can't complain at all

Yep!, to your question. :-)
I have a few of the Linx 10 Lite, Windows 8 Tablets, 2GB RAM/16GB eMMC, from last year (similar to the above really?).
And mine all have 2 USB 2.0 Sockets in each ...

just got one! i've been after one for a while. i got the 7" and the connect 9 and now this. just need to get a keyboard now. the slightly bigger screen and 2gb of ram in particular instead of 1gb should make a difference
Hi, do you get office pre-installed for a year??? It was the only reason i brought tablets like this as it is cheaper than buying the subscription.

As far as I understand, that offer expired in 2015. So even if there is a link and a code, it no longer works. Used tablets often still have this, refurbs typically not.

what is the difference between the £50 and £70 one?

PS: It was exactly this price at Staples when they came out, after 30 pounds off for an old tablet, and that was including the year of Office. No wonder Staples went bust, they must have made a loss.

True, they are not closing, but "reorienting the business". The stores are all closing, though, so I am not sure that is much different.

Weird, shows a little offer box between the price and collection/postage details on the desktop site. They must have a set of rotating offers as it shows Nectar points with the purchase now, must have got lucky.

going by the product code details on the ebay listing, the model and barcode number show its a 1010B which should have two full size USB ports plus a micro USB port. the listing has been updated a few times but the details haven't changed. so hopefully it is the model with the full size ports as it would be handy to plug a couple of small flashdrives in and use the microport for charging
Opening post
plus £5 off thats only £49.99
