Little bit of effort involved here, so expecting some cold votes, but hopefully it'll help out some people.
The Japanese demo of Puyo Puyo Tetris is extremely generous; it includes multiple characters and multiple game modes, including local multiplayer. Another nice bonus is that it's HD Rumble compatible.
And it's pretty easy to download, seeing as the Nintendo Switch is region free:
1) Create a new Nintendo Account using this link: accounts.nintendo.com/ 2) Make sure you set your country as Japan 3) On your Switch console, create a new profile and link it to your new Nintendo Account 4) Go to eShop on your Switch and select your new account 5) Find Puyo Puyo Tetris and on the right you'll see two boxes outlined in red 6) Choose the lower one which is slightly smaller; that's the demo 7) Hit 'A' and you'll start the download
The game is great fun and there is plenty to do in the demo. Enjoy!

Check out the Nintendo switch owners thread on here. Search for it. Has useful tips and bantz
Done this last weekend, it takes hardly any effort for a really good demo and hours of fun! Heat added.

Creation and switching of accounts is so incredibly simple on the Switch. No excuse not to do it!

Annoying having my news filled with Japanese articles though. Enough for me to remove the Japanese account

Did it actually remove the Japanese news from the feed?

I was wondering this too as I might change the account over to a US one - as I can't read Japanese anyway and I thought Tetris was dull and Monster Quest was a bit button-mashy.

I've read it won't get rid of it even if you delete the account!

Wow, this is what it's come to? tetris? LOL. Oh sure it's free but really?
But wait, It's fun, and graphics are not important and its nostalgic so it must be good. *yeesh*
Going back to play nioh and swear at the TV about japanese devs.

Use Google translate on your phone to see what the text says, just select Japanese to English and use camera icon to see it translated before your eyes!
