I get a fuzzy feeling whenever I think back on this game. I actually really want to play it again, but there are all these new releases getting superlative reviews to get through.

Mine arrived. Not new as stated. Not original shrink wrap and finger prints on the disc. Won't buy from them again.

Just played this through...
There were quite a few occasions where I couldn't get Trico to do what I wanted... to the point that I assumed I'd missed something and had to refer to a walkthrough, only to have it confirmed that what I wanted to do was correct.
There were a few camera control issues (while trying to climb Trico in enclosed areas) but no worse that other games in its ilk.
The puzzles varied from quite easy to devilishly difficult (no spoilers but for anyone who has completed it... the cart in the arena had me stumped for feckin ages!).
It's not quite as good looking as some other PS4 titles but often looked very nice (usually in strong sunlight).
The story is fantastic - despite the lack of conversation, I found myself really invested in the welfare of the protagonists - feeling genuinely concerned whenever Trico got hurt :innocent:
Overall, it's a really lovely game with a lovely soundtrack and the infrequent Japanese narrative complemented it wonderfully.

I ordered a little after you and my experience is the same (was in stock at the time of ordering, still showing as pending) and I contacted them this morning to ask if there was a problem. They quickly replied and requested for details of how I paid because on their side it's bizarrely showing as the order wasn't completed? I sent them a copy of the order confirmation screen that I captured at the time and I've not heard anything since. I'll give them a nudge in the morning but doesn't look too hopeful now that it's showing as out of stock.. :disappointed:

I really want to play this but only have a big standard ps4. I heard it runs really badly on that and you need a Pro to play it proper. Hopefully this is rubbish though.

Hot deal. Tempted to bite at £15ish for this. I never played any of the previous games. Seems to be a bit of a fanboy showdown in this thread. You must really hate me, I couldn't get into The Witcher and don't see the fuss about Zelda games.....maybe I should just be sitting in the corner :smile:

And call of duty's player base is 13 year olds when the game is meant for 18+ year olds what's your point? Can you not enjoy a Disney or a Pixar film because the target audience is children? You say they rely on nostalgia as if to imply their games aren't good, given the poor 3rd party on their consoles their software output is one of the only reasons they survive. No one is buying their consoles to play 3rd party games.

Nintendo basically survives off nostalgia. Its kind of funny most of their playerbase are people in their 30-40s who grew up with their games rather than children they clearly target for their games and systems. If it wasn't for nostalgia they would have went the way of Sega years ago.

I dont think Nintendo has ever made a great console tbh. I guess the Gamecube was good but also flawed but at least that system had decent hardware for its time whereas now they seem to always be a gen behind what technology is currently at. Nintendo are just living in their own little world.

At what point did i compare it specifically to Zelda, i was talking about the technical issues that Zelda does have, so does this game.That was it, nothing about it being better, i haven't played Zelda Botw so i wouldn't make that judgement and I'm waiting for this one to arrive off the back of this deal.I'm not narrow minded enough to make that call bro, relax.

Then your definition of perfect is mediocre. Not sure what I'm talking about? Game is (along with SOTC) known for poor performance, you don't have a special PS4 which somehow performs better than everyone else's. I played this to completion to see what the fuss what about and whilst there were some nice set pieces and trico animates very well, it was just painful to play, constantly wrestling with the camera with limp controls. I'm sure you think trico being disobedient was clever realistic AI but it's not, just gameplay ps2 like gameplay where you have to get trico to stand on a specific spot before he does what you want.

Its been happening for years, with the HW as well. When was the last time they produced a really great console? DS maybe, or even N64.

enjoyability of a game is subjective, I love wandering around open environments , equally I love being funneled down a story...gears of war, bioshock etc.

saying reviewers are all Nintendo fanboys is insulting to a lot of critics who have worked hard to get into the industry. the fact breath of wild is now highest reviewed game in history says something. I agree there are Nintendo fanboys out there but you can't seriously suggest they're all fanboys

I spent 10 years following last guardian expecting a masterpiece after collosus, instead got a game with frustrating 2002 controls. it's just lazy game design, a good game you shouldn't have to think about the game pad in your hand. last guardian made me want to launch the f**** through the nearest window.

until now open world RPGs have taken themselves far too seriously - Witcher, dragon age, Skyrim. it makes the characters bland. Zelda has a fantasy novel feel, one of the quirky characters on Zelda feels 100 times more real than any bland one in Witcher trying to be 'serious' and act.

it's the best open world ever made, which until now was probably Witcher. there is no part of the world which can't be explored, it has challenging enemies, intuitive items for link to use, the shrines are brilliant bite sized challenges, fun & interesting side quests, great charming characters, brilliant story, charming music. It's is absolutely leagues ahead of anything released, I'm not a Nintendo fanboy, my allegiance is to gaming , I own Xbox one, PS4, vita, NDS, wiiu & now a Switch.

Also played on standard PS4 and had no issues. well worth 20 quid. it's now the only reason I'm keeping my PS3 as I want to see what Ico and Shadow of the colossus are like as I've never played them.

Absolutely loved this game. There were moments when it gets frustrating as hell trying to tell Trico what to do... but instead of seeing it as bad coding I kinda felt like I was trying to control an unruly pet. Made it more believable somehow.
