Wasn't this already free with the Digital edition of project card the free games with gold, as I'm sure I already got that with it
"What happens to my Games with Gold games if I cancel my Xbox Live Gold subscription?
On Xbox One, you’ll no longer be able to access your Games with Gold titles if you cancel your subscription. However, if you decide to renew your subscription at any time, you’ll be able to access and play your previously redeemed Games with Gold titles again.
On Xbox 360, any Games with Gold titles that you redeem as an Xbox Live Gold member are yours to keep, regardless of whether you continue your subscription."

That's what I thought as my Xbox queued this limited edition upgrade on the download list. However clicked on this link and it mentions here for £0.00 so put it in the basket and purchased it so it now mentions, You own this product. Might be worth putting it through again as costs nothing.

The controls are perfect, this is a true racing sim, not like forza series.

If your using a joy pad for racing games such as this then i seriously wouldnt bother, the game is amazing but only worth playing if you have a wheel.

It's in the Project Cars Digital Edition bundle which is on GWG. Really don't understand why MS lets you buy stuff again when you already own it :\.

Why would you want to buy something you already got for free? Thats silly.

You don't really 'Own' any Xbox One Games with Gold, so if you were to stop your Gold subscription you would lose access to the game and the upgrade. At least this way you will own the upgrade, so if you later purchased (or already owned the core game) you can now still own the upgrade separate to your subscription.

But chances are you won't cancel to play multiplayer. Also you don't really own digital downloads anyway.

Seriously? you own it just as much as on disc the only downside you cant sell it to cex to buy your weed when you run out. but you always have access aslong as xbox is in business.

You do not own a digital download as its just licensed to you. If you get banned for any reason the games will stop working. I thought this was obvious already.

Getting an Xbox One GAME on GWG is different to purchasing the same game digitally. You can only play the game (single player/multiplayer/anything) whilst you are an active Gold subscriber.

incorrect, you're thinking of ps plus. Games with gold you fully own the game, ps plus is basically rental

Forza 3 Horizon is prettier and far less buggy, but PC is the more-realistic racing game. I rather like both.
edit: Anyone with an XBOX should own both.

No they didn't. MS were always consistent about GWG 360 games being free forever regardless of subscription or not and Xbox One GWG is just like PS + Games.

Thanks OP - 'bought' it even though the numerous comments regarding the terrible controls will probably mean I never try it!!

This game really needs as a wheel, no matter the platform it is on, and i think the dev team should have done a lot more tuning of the controls for joypads before they dropped it and ran over to the sequal.

The controls are fine, there's various configurations on good old google! Have a look on there and I'm sure you'll find one that suits you! I've got the GOTY edition on ps4 and GwG on Xbox one and both are brilliant with controller

The problem is that they are setup for you already. However, the consensus in this thread, so far, is that they're not great. And with settings for car racing being very personal and subjective, you can't expect a game to play the same for everyone.
There are plenty of games where I need to change buttons around and do different configurations to fit how I want to play. Sometimes, that's all that's needed to start enjoying a new game. That goes doubly for simulation racing games. These kind of racing games usually have a number of very specific and particular settings that will let a player tweak and adjust things to get just the right feel for the racing simulation that they want.
Aside from that, if racing simulation games aren't your thing, it's best to check out stuff like Forza Horizon, Need for Speed, etc.

voted hot , ignore the omelette jobs that prefer an on rails racer they are probably the type that race with all assists on and auto gears.
it's a great game if you give it more than a 5 minute chance onto my 6th season in career

try turning some assists of yes it's harder at first but you have better control over the cars handling

I don't. In fact I'm pretty much all digital nowadays as I don't care about disc ownership anymore.

Back to Forza, GT, Driveclub, F1, Nascar, perfectly playable sim games without the need to find controller seting from the net. lol

Yeh i agree, just perfect for me, this game is for the big boys, not girls that play forza games, takes time and effort to get good with a controller with this sim, i get times similar to players using a wheel and pedals even.

Also pay attention to tyre temperatures, particularly in practice sessions where you start on cold tyres, take a lap or two cautiously to build up the temperature first, otherwise you'll be spinning around or in the grass.

this game is not worth the hassle, very difficult to play, one has to really be into these games to enjoy it. but if you have Gold its free
