With holidays coming up they could by a good thing to buy to get the kids out and about catch little fish or chasing butterflies or if yours kids are like my nephews and nieces use them to try and fish the cash out of the local fountain! but not the wishing well because Timmy's still down it?

I regularly take my children crabbing over the summer. We have a giant bucket, a couple of lines and a couple of nets like this. We use the cheapest smokey bacon we can find as bait, and we always carefully empty out the bucket when we're done. Personally I've got a clean conscience. Heat.

I didn't say it's done deliberately, but if killing things bothers you so much then you would walk. But no you wouldn't,as it's ok to kill something when it suits YOUR needs.
Now I've pointed out that each time you drive you will kill something, then you now are deliberately killing things.

You can but you need to follow these guidelines
Stunning and killing pigs, sheep, goats, deer or cattle
Restraining
Unless you’re using a firearm to kill pigs, sheep, goats, deer or cattle, you must restrain them without causing them pain, suffering or distress.
Stunning by penetrative captive bolt
You can use a penetrative captive bolt device to stun any species but you need to then kill the animal after it’s unconscious.
You must:
check the bolt has retracted fully after each shot - if not, don’t use the device until it’s fixed
shoot animals in the correct position - you must not shoot cattle or any bovine animals like bison or buffalo in the back of the head
If you’re stunning sheep and goats with horns by penetrative captive bolt, you must:
aim the shot just behind the base of the horns and towards the mouth
bleed or kill an animal within 15 seconds of shooting it
Stunning by non-penetrative captive bolt
You can only use non-penetrative captive bolt devices to stun cattle, sheep and goats that weigh less than 10kg.
You must apply the captive bolt in the proper position.
Stunning using guns
You can use a gun to stun and kill an animal but you must use the correct power and calibre of cartridge for the type of animal. Read the manufacturer’s instructions issued with your firearm to find this information

I do hope that all the people that say these nets are abuse, don't drive a car or ever use public transport in the summer when everyone knows that you will end up killing hundreds of insects with the front bumper/windscreen.

Brill ! I'd love to have my own farm and then I can teach the kids how to hack the cows and sheep to death.

Another highlight of my childhood was the cockerel culling when my dad would get the kindling block and the hatchet and chop off their heads. We had a sweepstake on which one would run around the longest without a head. The thing that fascinated me was the fact that the eyes kept blinking! So I would hold its head up so it could see its headless body running around. Its a pity we didn't have video cameras in those days.
Although I suppose these days a few people think that would be barbaric.

That leaves a right mess though. Somehow a giant leopard slug got in my kitchen I salted it and in the morning it had trailed its fizzing slime everywhere

We eat fish as well. I find fly spray more effective though for the flies

so what you're trying to say is if he was found to be using a tennis racket or a baseball bat to catch butterflies then you shouldn't be going out and buying baseball bat or tennis rackets for your kids????

And the text states that he was using a childs fishing net to catch the butterflys, this can also be seen in the photo.

I don't see your point. This is a story about someone stealing a protected butterfly from a protected site, commercially selling dead butterfly.
