I don't think the EU law is a bad thing at all though. There were so many uneconomical and inefficient vacuum motors about generating a tremendous amount of heat over suction. It's for the best that the industry was pushed into designing better vacuums.

I didn't say it did.... My wife has a 2200w hairdryer and it doesn't suck at all.... Neither does the hairdryer

Wattage does not equal suction power.

Is it worth mentioning that 110V with transformer is much safer than 240V for outdoor use, making this a good option for car cleaning? Plenty of powertools make it on here, which are construction tools. The op says transformer may be needed, perhaps meaning You will need if you don't already have one. may need one.

Heck, 620W? Mine is the older 1200W switchable version, it works on the lower power setting but you'd not ever want to use it on that.

It is a bit hard to see why this one is a hot deal when it is only suitable for industrial premises. I really can't see the OP's suggestion of using a transformer as being suitable for most homes, most of the transformers that would supply adequate current would come in a yellow plastic box and be designed for an isolated supply in a works - and weigh perhaps 10kg!

It's a misleading post from the poster who as a MOD on HUKD should change the description to prevent any confusion.
The actual website very clearly states in it's header its 110v which makes it totally unsuitable for UK homes.
