Worth noting that these boxes no longer support Plex via side-loading – Sky blocked all developer apps last week.

Can you not connect it up to Internet and block the update that stops the side-load?

Strange I set up and installed mine last night, works fine.

someone needs to wireshark one of these boxes so that all the update URLs can be found and then blocked at the router.

This the old box where you can't pause live tv? New boxes you can.

are the codes already applied on the box for activation, or are the codes separate?

Oh tempting for £19.99 but holding out for a deal on the new smart boxes. There was this price a while ago as well as Argos, Seen PC World still doing them for £19.99 as well.
Heat from me tho good find

AFAIK, there's no way to block updates if you're connected to the internet.

If you can find the web address then you could block it at your router

Assuming this isn't new stock already running firmware with the developer option blocked. will only be a matter of time until store stock ships with the new firmware...
Plex classic looks horrible now anyway on these boxes compared to the new Plex app on the roku's

I think that's gonna be a few months away, must be plenty of old stock sitting on shelves
I dunno about the look, if it works it works, which is all people care about, I actually prefer it to the mobile and tv layout
Can these boxes pick up you tube? So, after 6months expired could I carry on using it for youtube and IPlayer for example? Thanks

Youtube, BBC iPlayer, ITV hub, All 4, 5 on demand, red bull tv, tunein radio, vimeo, box tv etc all available without a subscription to a sky package.

Until it updates. . .
I really liked having PLEX on the Now TV box because it was faster than the Amazon Firestick and kept things all in one place. Now I have to switch between devices.

There are any sports channel? Like sky sports?

24 Mar 17#24
If you have any current subscription you can watch Sky Sports News.
There is an ability to buy vouchers for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month of all Sky Sports channels.
I believe there is a sports box bundle which comes with 2 one day sports passes.

Do you have to use the box they give you for the pass? I use chromecast currently and don't want to waste one of my registered devices on this box.
Thanks

Nope, just apply the voucher via though your account and all should be fine (apply during the end month of the current voucher cancelling the auto renewal first)

I have had several vouchers - they apply to your account not to a specific box.

Do Sky not do 1080p yet? I can only see that it's 720p in the description. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

I was concerned about that at first too and love movies in full HD. But try NowTV and you won't notice the difference most of the time. I think they could do 1080p if they wanted but need to give people an incentive to pay 4x the price.

Ordered mine with free delivery in the next 5 days - didn't see the no home delivery bit, and can't be bothered to fetch them. (only really want to vouchers I will be starting to give away the boxes soon)

No one I know has lost Plex. Have you?
Anx10us
25 Mar 17#33
No one you know? Really? That is strange and I find that a bit hard to believe because it's a forced automatic update and there's no way to get around it. Being connected to the network, connected to NowTV means you get the update whether you like it or not.
The internet is full of comments about the update and no workarounds yet.

Anyyone who has managed to get one what is the expiry dates on the passes?
Crossbow to jazzy.moo
26 Mar 17#35
Don't think dates are specified, but they will last 12 months at least from date of purchase, sometimes longer - see this similar query on their forums.

Although it looked like an in store only deal, I just bought one of these with free next day home delivery. It arrived today via DPD. If you add
it to your basket it gives you the option of home delivery (well it did for me anyway). Also saved a whopping £0.17 through TCB!

Went to our local currys last night and they had over 12 of each in stock so not sure why currys said its oos. I did the order using the £10 M&S voucher as I purchased over £101 of Now TV boxes so not sure if this is why
