I got two of these and they are awesome. Using them for voice calls and text (how quaint, I hear you say) on the ski slopes in France BECAUSE the battery lasts for ages unlike my iPhone battery and I want to be able to find out where everyone went when they left me behind

Does the credit run out if not used in a month? I'm after a cheap phone for my mum to keep in her bag for emergencies. £10 would last her forever if it doesn't expire - she doesn't need text or call plans.

Get phone, request unlock, order a o2 Classic payg sim 5p Min/txts, when credit is low (as pointed out its 30p a minute^) PAC the number across to o2
According to the EE PAYG terms (PDF file), one's credit & number lasts indefintely as long as one uses the phone once every 180 days.
"6.3 You must make a Connection Action* at least once every 180 days. If You do not, Your SIM Card will be disconnected from the Network and You will not be able to use the Services. You will lose Your mobile phone number and any Credit on Your Account at the time of such disconnection will be forfeited."
* 'Connection action’: an action that must be taken to maintain connection. Connection actions include by way of example only: topping up Your Account, using data and making a chargeable call or sending a chargeable text. A full list of connection actions is set out in Our booklet of Charges

3 Mar 17#63
Yes it will! Without unlocking it is OK for EE SIMs and for MVNOs using the EE.network
BrianM
3 Mar 17#62
That won't work!!!!
I did that and they told me that the IMEI of the phone had to match the number in "myEE" or else the unlock would be rejected. I had to phone and tell them that the SIM associated with this number was being used in this handset.
I don't think this problem would arise if you register a SIM and phone together.

Ages! Over a year I think. The reason it was so long was that they charged £9.99 until VERY recently and i waited until they became free.
