Seems a decent price in comparison to other sites, between £65-£75 elsewhere

Thanks, have been waiting for a good deal since I wore out my original ones from playing all the great available games.

Good price I guess. Nintendo's pricing scheme has done a great job uniting the weak and the wealthy.

A single joycon is not equivalent to an XB1 or PS4 controller though.

Shame it's not the same price for the neon pair. I want the option for a full blue neon or red neon set.
Edit: I can wait though as there's not much reason for another set of joy-cons yet.

i want them to release a clear black pair to match my pro controller

Talking about this with a buddy at work earlier. Black would be nice, but we both agreed that Gamecube purple ones with coloured buttons would be awesome. Nintendo would be missing a trick by not releasing themed controllers in the future.

Any experienced a loose right trigger on their joycons? I swear every recent nintendo portable I've had I get the same issue (DS lite and 3ds) where the right trigger stops feeling as "clicky" as the left.

The £74.99 neon pack with snipperclips at smyths is still the best deal as the game is £17.99 making the joy cons £57 provided you want snipperclips of course
Nice price for the grey ones though!

Is snipper clips still £15 at cdkeys? then this would be a better deal than the smyths bundle.

Changeable faceplates would have been a neat trick and a great money maker for Nintendo.

One of the GOAT to be fair - on release date. Maybe not the deluge of games with a Sony or Microsoft launch but looks like Indie support will increase and at least one more GOAT game this year. It's the hardware that makes it though, I was sceptical but have been won over now I own one. The joy-con seem dear on the face of it but of high quality so fair for the normally high investment you expect with a new console.

playing multiplayer like Fast RMX maybe? give each person 2 joy cons in a grip rather than an awkward single joy con sideways option

It's useful for playing 4 player bomberman as a family, you can also swap your flat controllers for a charged pair which are docked with the switch so you always have charged controllers and that when mario kart is out next month we already have a set for playing as a family.

Byron78
13 Mar 171#16
Aye.
I suppose it just seems a bit weird that in that instance the pads would end up costing 3 times the price of the game.
These will be a must have when Mario Kart and Splatoon arrive of course.
That just seems so long away I think I can wait.

I wouldn't be paying money for more Joy Cons when they're having so many issues at the moment personally.. Good price though.

13 Mar 17#18
They'll keep trickling down to a reasonable price. I wish someone would do the pro controller at a decent price. Playing Zelda on the little joycons isn't great...
Cheaper than a pro controller  though I will always choose pro controllers over joycons- I've yet to see the point of getting another pair of joycons seeing as there's no games that support that amount of players (as far as I'm aware of) and you can just get a pro controller if you want to play a two player game that needs both joy cons

Will be waiting till version 2 comes out before I buy any more, the left joycon disconnecting all the time at 6ft for me is enough to put it off till they come up with a fix.
Good price though
4 player Snipperclips went down a storm with the kids at a weekend get together. Expected Bomberman to be the multiplayer hit but they haven't taken to it.
bccben
13 Mar 17#23
It is 4 player though, which makes it a bit less crazy - at least for me. If you wanted to play a 4 player game on PS4 or XBone then you'd probably spend about 3 times as much on controllers, even if you bought a big game (rather than a cheaper, download-only one).

60£ for a controller... or is it just good price compared the the rrp?
fat-pudding to whelan189

It's £60 for 2 controllers or £30 each, an Xbox or PS4 controller is usually a bit over £40 each.

Can confirm this works. Nintendo did not advise to do this in the patch notes for the update which they should of but i can play pretty much 10 foot away now with no issues so far.

13 Mar 17#35
I admit to not being a gamer, and in fact I am of the opinion that anyone over the age of about 14 who is has something wrong with them, however, why would it matter what colour the controllers are??
fat-pudding
13 Mar 171#36
If you are using them attached to the console then yes you need both but if you're gaming on the television you can use these as separate controllers for multiple players or put them in a controller grip to use as a single controller. If you buy a switch you get 2 controllers in the box that attach to the console but you can remove them and attach the controller straps which makes them separate controllers. This is 2 controllers so you can buy this and use with the included controllers with your switch to let you play 4 player games like bomberman which is what myself and my family do.

Do these come with a method of charging, other than having them attached to the Main unit or buying the £35 Grip with the built in battery? Does it even come with a regular Grip if not, that's allot of money for two mini controllers.
Foley2001_uk to Harryisme
13 Mar 17#48
They last for 20 hours each so I'm sure within that 20 hours of life there's a easy opportunity to stick them back on the console to charge, overnight for example when you can't possibly be playing while you sleep. Including an extra grip would of been nice with these for sure, you can't actually get a spare grip right now, only the charging grip
fu_fighter to Harryisme
14 Mar 17#56
Just to add, the charger grip doesn't have a built in battery, it is purely for charging off the mains.

Doesn't make the slightest difference at all. 5/6 ft with clear line of sight, still disconnects. They are frankly rubbish, considering the amount of other wireless controllers that I have that just work no questions asked, it's not like it's a difficult thing to get bluetooth devices to work over a distance.
Even playing 1/2 Switch stood next to the tv, literally a foot or two distance and it still drops out every now and then.
