its RRP so not really a deal but a good heads up for those who want one, shame nintendo are doing there usual thing, with releasing limited stock so it looks like its selling a lot better than it is, before anyone starts i didn't say it is selling poorly, just that this is what and other companys to a lesser extent like to do too increase recognition etc. so not voting either way.
i'm happy to wait till more games out, a decent bundle and the games are priced cheaper, its strange with the wii u games being a little cheaper at times than ps4 or Xbox one games, Nintendo fans used to moan about the price of ps4/xbox games, but now games are more expensive on the switch its OK now, have to love the double standard.

Yeah the fact that the storage is on a separate daughterboard likely means 64 / 128GB version on the way in the future.
Price drop not so sure about though, if demand stays high I wouldn't hold your breath for significant drops this year. Bundles could offer better value though yeah. Surely 1-2 Switch will eventually become a pack-in game like it should've been from the start.

Ben Heck did a tear down of the Switch and found that it's very likely that because of the modular way it's built, a newer updated version will likely be coming in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpSPyW5v8r0&t=5s
Definitely gonna wait till Christmas for a bundle deal and maybe a price drop!

Exactly 6.66% is nothing to scoff at with interest rates as low as they are. You don't even need the initial 300 as you order on a credit card. Why you would want to part with your Switch is another question entirely though .
Sorceress1988
29 Mar 17#71
With the greatest respect, the Wii U is old technology. Besides, the Switch is much more appealing due to being a home console/handheld console.
I would not buy from nintendo.I preordered the switch and despite being told it would be despatched a few days before release it was not shipped until 8.30 pm night before and console turned up late.I refused delivery and managed to get the last switch from Argos on day of release and still waiting on a refund from Nintendo. They have told me they have not received it back despute tracking saying otherwise.Have my credit card company doing a chargeback at the moment to get my money back.Never again.

Re-read what I wrote, you are misunderstanding what I said about them being a Japanese company and taking it out of context.
Why are we talking exclusively about Playstation? You said Sony, you brought it up.
Also you didn't answer my question; was there or was there not a shortage of PS4's at launch?
You managed to simultaneously miss the point entirely and answer nothing with your replies, congrats I guess that's an achievement of sorts.

I was fortunate enough to find an Argos with one in stock. Had the device for three weeks now. The main issue I have is there are NO games. You are buying Zelda and maybe the racing game, but the others aren't very good.
The console is quite good, although the kick stand isn't the best.
Really good find to see it in stock. It is still hard to get hold of...

28 Mar 17#26
yes but thats only the stock that retailers have to sell, the statement makes it sound like its selling better than the wii or ps2 which it is not. don't get me wrong i want it to do well, but a big difference between what stock they are selling and total sales. lets hope it can have the sales of the wii coupled with a great lineup of games
It's the fastest selling Nintendo console ever, it's also the fastest selling console of all time in Europe.
I think they have done a remarkable job of filtering them through considering the demand. It's a 100x better situation than the Wii which was impossible to get hold of until 6 months after release.
derp1664
28 Mar 17#23
I agree about the scalpers it does suck that there's even a market for it but attributing that as beneficial to Nintendo (ergo something they would do on purpose) is rather complicated.
derp1664
28 Mar 17#22
Yes but to say that they do it on purpose is conjecture. Running a multi-billion pound company is more complicated than you may think. Plus they are Japanese, their customs are very different and that includes in business. It may be a decision to reduce risk on an unknown quantity.
voyager123
28 Mar 17#21
yes but nintendo take it to another degree, that could produce more without having the effects you say, they do with a lot of stuff limited edition games and amiibo and at the end of the day the only people this benefits are scalpers.
the could easily find a middle ground like other company's without lining the scalpers pockets

Producing multiple millions of anything to be shipped & sold worldwide comes with many logistical challenges. The idea that it is purposely short stocked is just because someone realised how that can positively affect people's desire to purchase said item and they automatically assumed that must be the reason. Correlation does not imply causation. If you actually look into the economics it's rather complicated as to whether such a tactic would even be beneficial or detrimental given they actually make money from software sales and would be able to accrue interest & reinvest capital from larger net sales.
