Free delivery between Monday and Thursday after 2pm as it's over £100, otherwise you can Click and Collect for free if you want it sooner. Box contents:
1 x Xbox One console
1 x Xbox One Wireless Controller
1 x 500GB Hard Drive
1 x Xbox One Chat Headset
1 x HDMI cable
1 x Power Supply
It's the old model, sure, but at this price I'm biting even if Scorpio is only a few months away.
Thanks!
EDIT - some folk appear not to be able to add this to their basket, so may be regional stock specific, even though it's an online deal :disappointed:

Good afternoon,
Sorry to report the news, nonetheless everybody's order will be CANCELED and here's the reason why.
I have just come off the phone to my local Sainsbury's superstore and the online department rep confirmed that this is not a stock issue but in fact a glitch in the system. "The original price for the Xbox One was not supposed to be £129, this was due to a glitch on the website." Apparently, nobody has been successful in so far in receiving this deal at their branch in Scotland. I even asked about my own order, still active on my account, and he said with confidence that I will receive a cancellation the day of collection.
If we really want to make a fuss we should all use this unique website where you can get company CEO's email addresses, and we should voice our disappointment with our experience.
I am pretty bummed out about this situation as I was looking forward to my new gaming console.
The only thing that I am pondering is why Sainsbury's are giving false information about stock when the real story actually lies in a mistake on their website listing.
All the best!

Voicemail received from Sainsburys - order and this afternoon's delivery cancelled as no stock. Really frustrating, it's a shocking business practice.
Was worth a shot but I'm annoyed I foolishly ordered a game on another deal - will Sainsburys compensate me for returning the game now I wonder? I'll be avoiding any "deals" from Sainsburys.

3 hours before it was due for delivery Sainsburys called to say they no longer had stock! Last time i ordered from Sainsburys the same thing occurred. They shouldn't really be allowed to advertise stock that they don't have. Did anyone else actually get one?
dunny06
19 Mar 17#283
maybe they should separate electronics from the grocery becouse there's no guarantee it's going to get delivered and it's messing the customers about if they cancel plans to go out expecting a delivery only to be told a few hours before its oos and in some cases like mine where money had been taken from the account even tho the rest of the grocery order was cancelled and have to wait 3-5 days for the money to be returned.
robo989
19 Mar 17#282
Not the point at hand, I was explaining why.
Anyone can virtue signal and point out the nasty capitalist nature of their stock control.
Argos system checks stock because argos are a business concerned with stock and they wouldn't have a business if they didn't. How the hell do you think they manage to stock tens of thousands of items in their stores? Because they keep 2-5 of each item.
Tesco click/collect does not control stock with respect to their stores, they order the item in and you get a message once it's delivered. That's a different entity to the grocery section, which operates exactly the same way as Sainsburys and relies on instore stock.
I'm not defending it, I'm explaining it.

That is the system.
Once the picker sees there is no stock THEN the website gets updated.
This is standard across Tesco also.
The cost of having a proper live stock system must be prohibitively expensive to implement universally across all stores.
It's understandable when you think about how many stores there are etc.
Certainly effing annoying though and gets right on my tits.
dunny06
19 Mar 17#272
I think there system is hope for the best on the day when the picker gets to the shelf to check and sod the rest if there is none. Shocking way to run a business when the website can not communicate with stores for stock availability.

Its just a big disappointment. It lets you order it for click and collect or delivery, but doesn't guarantee stock. Customers can still go in to a store and take the last one. Anyone actually got their hands on one?
I even reserved one at another store to find all they did was put by the dearer Fifa branded xbox. Load of nonsence!
They must have had a few kicking around, but you will most likely get a call on the day to say they are out of stock.
Oh and by the way, the introductory offers cannot be applied to Electronics, you will be told this when you collect or they attempt delivery.

The one thing that wasn't surprising was trying to use C&C the day after ordering and that did not work. Tesco take at least 2 or 3 days for the order to come in and then they will send out a confirmation email stating that the item/s are ready to collect.
It's all Sainsbury's fault as the site puts up pickup times for any item the next day no matter what. I hope those who get the call or even are told when they get to the store point this out and give them a right rollocking. My only other thought is that they're trying to sting people with the pricey substitutes.

Just got my call. None in stock. Apparently it's due to them selling so many because of the "hot UK deals code" I asked what she was on about and she referred to the £18 off your first order code. Apparently this is a hukd only code and that's the reason they have sold so many. She said she's had to ring 9 customers for the Melton Road Leicester store who have all used that code too. All cancelled as no stock and system not showing when stock will be available again.

On one hand we all know the score, but then it's frustrating in this day and age a company like Sainsbury's doesn't know how much stock of a product it has. Savage truth.
The Switch is disgustingly priced for diabolicaly poor performance. It's only slightly better than a Wii-u, which itself is slightly faster than an Xbox 360.
No thanks.

Every single time I've ever done a sainsburys order for something like this, it's gone through online absolutely fine but the next day I get a phone call from the store its supposed to be delivered from telling me they don't have any. Never falling for it again
prankster101
18 Mar 171#165
You forgot the price of the accessories... Which ramps the cost up to nearly £400.
Switch is being marketed as a home console. Yet MS offers nearly twice the tech at over half the price, with the added bonus that it has an infinitely healthier ecosystem via third party support and 360 backwards compatibility.
If it wasn't for the fact that I want a Scorpio, I'd be all over this. As for the Switch...? Pffft! Whatever rocks your boat I guess... Too bad I got Zelda for my Wii U, and judging by the technical tear-downs, there's nothing in the Switch that warrants £400-odd.
As for the Scorpio at £400 however...
adamspencer95

With E3 around the corner I wouldn't pick one of these up. xbox scorpio could well be a next Gen console. Had an xbox one did enjoy gears of war firmware is so bad on this tho you have to wait sometimes half a day to play a game while it installs and updates! WTF!! I'm not a fan boy had an xbox 360 and loved it. With the lack of game exclusives I would really think twice before you buy one of these consoles. Unless you getting it as a second sky box for another room

There is, the stock control is "live" but the stock is not held.
If a "pick" was to be made when you can place an order, you would get the item.
A "pick" is made at least what 12 hours after any order.
It's the "order" that isn't live so to speak, there's nothing wrong with the stock...something like that.

That is not true. They have a substitution price promise as well.
This also isn't true. Your postcode determines what depot/store the delivery comes from. What you see on any grocery online website is items you can order but they aren't fluid enough to be exactly in line with store inventory. You may not get what you order if it isn't in stock on the day!

might be me being stupid, but is this brand new? under packaging it says 'loose', and your title says New OG, not sure what it means

Probably just a weird packaging categorisation they have for goods.

I wonder if they can't bring it and you have substitutes on will they bring you an S?

Sainsburys is one of the only companies who charge the actual price of the substitute. So they would most definitely try their luck.

Yeah it's 'loose' in the way apples are loose. It'll be brand new.

Further £18 off with code SCSEAXEMARC (first Sainsbury Online order Delivery and C+C)
Opening post
1 x Xbox One console
1 x Xbox One Wireless Controller
1 x 500GB Hard Drive
1 x Xbox One Chat Headset
1 x HDMI cable
1 x Power Supply
It's the old model, sure, but at this price I'm biting even if Scorpio is only a few months away.
Thanks!
EDIT - some folk appear not to be able to add this to their basket, so may be regional stock specific, even though it's an online deal :disappointed:

perhaps we could try the same with Saintsbury's ??
Was worth a shot but I'm annoyed I foolishly ordered a game on another deal - will Sainsburys compensate me for returning the game now I wonder? I'll be avoiding any "deals" from Sainsburys.
Receipt here (I just had to obscure a few details), hopefully a few other might be lucky as well...
good effort though
Now, I get a knock at the door and it's the delivery driver from Sainsbury's with an Xbox!!
I'm not defending it, I'm explaining it.
i am expecting a lot more than £111 to be taken from my account!i am going to
cancel just on principal!i'd rather pay more to another company,
disgraceful way to do business!
Cheers OP.
4 comments later and stuartc74 picked one up in store at Darnley.
Would seem even their staff genuinely don't know their stock levels. Doesn't paint a good picture of Sainsburys at all does it.
Appreciate the heads up though
OOS confirmed by hundreds
None of you will get one.
Oh well, another fail...
It's all Sainsbury's fault as the site puts up pickup times for any item the next day no matter what. I hope those who get the call or even are told when they get to the store point this out and give them a right rollocking. My only other thought is that they're trying to sting people with the pricey substitutes.
FU SAiNSBURY'S
Glad I read back on here cos I've now ticked "no substitutions".
Fingers crossed!
"I'm really sorry about that", Mark said, then, "They're back in stock on Wednesday and we'll honour the same price, I'll give you a ring back on Wednesday to arrange delivery if you want?"
Yes Mark, yes, I do want!
Seems it is just down to local stock, don't know why this deal has been expired?
Did you manage to get one? I ordered one for collection at Oldbury too but had a call not long ago saying there is non in stock
Anyone still trying?
Dis gon b good fams
The women said I can order it at £129 and I told them to shove it. I'd rather pay more elsewhere than give Sainsburys my cash.
He did say that my store actually have this in stock though.
He did also say that I'll be getting a call in an hours time.
My delivery is scheduled between 2pm-3pm
0800 328 1700 and turn substitute off or you will probably end up to be buying a bundle .
They can **** off if they trying to palm me off with a 500GB S stand alone for £199.
Month, or free with multi screen bundle which costs extra £12 a month, I have this too.
The Switch is disgustingly priced for diabolicaly poor performance. It's only slightly better than a Wii-u, which itself is slightly faster than an Xbox 360.
No thanks.
Switch is being marketed as a home console. Yet MS offers nearly twice the tech at over half the price, with the added bonus that it has an infinitely healthier ecosystem via third party support and 360 backwards compatibility.
Also, the Switch is a really weak-ass system that has practically zero third party support. But you just know that Nintendo loyalists will find any way of justifying the company's extortion racket.
As for the Scorpio at £400 however...
scorpio will probably be quadruple that.
Thanks
I'm based in the West Midlands.
£109.00 "
Bought in Edinburgh. Thanks
Didn't realize this would get so much heat, you're probs right, think there's going to be a lot of orders....
i hope there's not a lot of disappointed people tomorrow, but unfortunately i think it's likely...
as explained above it seems
If a "pick" was to be made when you can place an order, you would get the item.
A "pick" is made at least what 12 hours after any order.
It's the "order" that isn't live so to speak, there's nothing wrong with the stock...something like that.
Nice deal for others though !
The fact that it's still available doesn't bode well.
Your best chance is delivery/collection first available slot asap.
I am sure when I get there I will not be getting one, seems too good.
Ordered one for collection, even though I don't "reeeeeeally" need one..... but hey, isn't that the case when browsing on here! haha
Hope it's there for my collection Monday morning...prob more chance of pigs flying like, but until then I shall remain positive and save all naughty swear words until I receive a cancellation email! Heat added xx
Will see if either work?
Added 2 FIFA games to the collection but they seem to be going in and out of stock.
Will be interesting to see come Monday whether anyone's actually getting these?
The word your looking for is range, not stock. Stock is not determined online.
The range of products you can order is determined by your postcode.
Happy days. Thanks OP! :sunglasses:
This also isn't true. Your postcode determines what depot/store the delivery comes from. What you see on any grocery online website is items you can order but they aren't fluid enough to be exactly in line with store inventory. You may not get what you order if it isn't in stock on the day!
Would vote hot, but can't as expired.
Not expired, availability depends on if the store linked to your postcode has stock/sells item.
MM
so many variations, i don't have a clue about consoles

Does anyone know when money is taken from bank though as I just checked and nothing taken or not even in pending.... Bit worried i'm gonna get an email with the dreaded cancelled information lol. I am new customer to Sainsburys so not sure if this is normal.
would post pic but dunno how too on here
£111 for an Xbox One?! Surely that's ridiculously cheap?!
I've never had an Xbox nor wanted one, but for little over a hundred bones, I guess it's time for a new console (as long as it actually turns up!)
Then use "reserve and collect" instead of delivery.
Stock is determined by if the store closest to your postcode has stock. (Same with all supermarket shopping grocery orders).
Ooo I prefer Original Gangsta!:wink:
Tempting but don't really need one :stuck_out_tongue:
