Looks like Amazon have priced matched Currys, even though Currys don't have stock anywhere! Gogogo!

Forgot... just wanted to ask is the IR illumination LED visible when activated ? Does it glow red drawing attention in an obscure location for theft ?

Not really comparable products...
The Canary is different in that it's an indoor camera and permanently powered which allows it to continually record/buffer. That feature is just not practical in a place anywhere /move at will external camera.
If recoding the foxes and hedgehogs is the objective or an external camera just can't be easily powered then Arlo is a unique product. If you can run a wire for power or even better a network cable then that will offer more features and less running costs.
If anyone sees a lightning deal for this or the Pro version, please post. The 2 HD pack seems the best current value. I got my £50 camera today I believe some Netgear routers support the Arlo cameras directly.

£214.99 which was slightly cheaper than the warehouse deal.
I then decided to take up this camera deal which came in cheaper than the 3 camera kit.
I have not noticed the prices movign to much since I got interested a year or so ago. Was once going to buy from amazon fr/de/it when the exchange rate was good, saving then was about £30 but missed the chance. Very happy at this deal.
If you've missed this and just need inside cameras the Blink system looks good.

Don't forget if you get a late delivery complain, you get a free month, I had 24 months with late deliveries
Great price but went for the 2 camera system instead as it was on lightning deal today.

Not bad price, but the 3 camera setup at £289 earlier in the week was a better deal IMHO. Just saying
The prices on these Arlo units are up and down like a .....(fill in your own analogy)

WEIRD ! I just bought this for 69.99 from amazon and contacted them to say I could return and re-order at lower price, or would they prefer to refund the difference. Every time previously they have said ok, this time they said policy has changed and they cannot. They were perfectly happy to kick of a returns process though and lose out on postage and getting 'second hand' goods back again. They even said it was a good idea to do so !!

Be careful..theyl happily do this and then suspend you for too many returns.

I've had them do the same to me. I guess more people then tell them not to worry than hand over a parcel to a courier and make a bit of saving..

Great deal. Ordered two.
Ordered one from Amazon last week at £69.97 with Prime expedited delivery, but it took a whole week to arrive from Italy. So on the day it arrived the price had dropped 20quid. :disappointed:
Contacted Amazon Customer support today and they suggested returnign orig item free which I am doing.
Based on this have ordered 2 new ones, coz the price is so cheap. WIll have a whole 5 camera setup soon, which is the max you can have with the free Arlo rolling 7 day cloud setup.
Happy days. Hot

Add-on camera prices are excellent, but any deals on the base station ?

If you have any questions about the system then fire away. The app etc is pretty slick and IMO works well. The range on the motion sensor could be a bit further and yeah if someones moving really quickly then it might not turn on in time to catch them properly, but thats true of basically all cameras like this. This system is one of the better ones I think.

The Canary system always buffers for the few seconds prior to the actual start of motion detection and so playback is always and every time starting a few seconds before the person actually appears on camera. Also the canary picks up a small fly passing by whereas the Arlo often missed recording my car moving into my drive.

Soo tempted but looking at the two "most helpful" reviews and now doing a bit of research on the internet has put me off.I'll stick to my hard wired thanks.

I really tried to love this but eventually could not and had to return it as it was no more than a nice toy but totally unreliable as a security system. Reception erratic, batteries expensive and worse one was the completely useless motion detection which only started the recording after the person has come and gone from in front of the camera. Quite an expensive toy and not really fit for any other purpose.

its very heavy on the batteries and they arent cheap - you would really need to invest in rechargeables !!

It also works with the newer Arlo Pro base which allows edge recording to SD camera. I intend to mix these up with the single camera Arlo Pro system I'll be getting when they are in stock. Works out cheaper than buying a multi camera Arlo Pro system.

You need a Netgear Arlo base station to use it yes, but its a great deal for those that want more add on cameras to their Arlo system.
