I've been signed up for a while. I used to get these vouchers and then they just stopped (even though I'm still signed up). I had figured they just stopped offering this.

Should get them at least quarterly.

This has been on going for quite time, or has something changed that I'm not aware of? Every quarter (or so) I receive around 3-4 vouchers for the hot drink and cake, I've had a couple of vouchers for soup and bread too; and the £5 when spending £50+ comes intermittently.

I asked about this in store the other day, as when I signed up I had a voucher for coffee and cake every month. Now I get 1 every 3 months. Apparently they changed the T&Cs - but forgot to tell their customers! I buy EVERYTHING from JL and get a measly voucher whereas I've heard others get freebies at seasonal peaks (christmas chocolates) as well as the £5 off £50 voucher PLUS REGULAR cake and coffee. I mean it won't stop me shopping there because the after sales is fantastic when you need them, but grates on me a little bit!!!

I agree - I spend a small fortune there and have not had coffee/cake vouchers for well over a year. Waitrose is stopping the free coffee too (is the whole company having problems?).

Used to be one cake/drink a month. Now hardly any come. I've stopped shopping there, used to buy all my electricals there, they are no longer competitive. Their 2 yr warranty isn't that good, I've been buying extended warranties when buying with the Co-op etc and it's still cheaper overall.

A John Lewis spokesman says: "Our policy has not changed. Never Knowingly Undersold is our commitment not just to price, but also to quality and service.

Probably answered your own question, why would they give you freebies when you spend regularly, they would try and encourage people who visit less often with more vouchers, the whole system works this way .

Thanks op good deal if you have plans to get something anyway....
I have just had my £5 and complimentary Coffee+Cake delivered after spending £50 which Ihad to as giving a gift to someone so £5 is a welcome bonus.
MRBeansDrivingInstrutor Waitrose stopping the free hot drinks is a shame but I can see what has happened they started with leaving the cups near the machines for anyone to grab and help themselves with the drinks then they started with asking to go to the till or customer service. Then they starting seeing that some not all were coming back and refilling. At one point the start started questioning them and once one of them threw coffee aiming at the staff member luckily missed it... so this is what it had come to before Waitrose woke up to it and saw how much they must be loosing. The email |i get says \i saved something like £60+ and that is not everyday so imagine those who go everyday and take advantage of it and then times it by how many take up the offer and now add those who double it. Then take off some of them as they(Like me) don't leave without getting something I bet it still leaves a considerable amount who just come in for the coffee.
Are JLP in problem they certainly are not intractable times are hard anyway... some of the Waitrose staff I talk to say they hate working here even the oldies( those who have been working for years) say it is not what it used to be. Specially how the general public confront them and constantly arguing or be physical( like above) no wonder they hate it...

I get the vouchers and invites to members only shopping events. At the Christmas event there was free Cava, mince pies, chocolates, biscuits, cake and a voucher for free tote bag. Going to Easter event this week but I notice it doesn't mention any freebies at all in relation to this . A lot of businesses seem to be cutting the customer benefits. I'll really miss The Orchard at Tesco, got lots of stuff via that.

Unfortunately its a shame some people spoil a good thing, lve personally seen them filling their own thermal flasks with coffee, somehow greed takes over.

Like other posters, I used to get offers and hot drink and cake every month and then it stopped! Nothing for over a year :disappointed: (I make large purchases there several times a year so not a weekly shopper at John Lewis.)
Opening post
