If these ultra light jackets are anything like the ones they were selling last year, I'd steer clear - they're just rubbish. Trust me, you will want to return it. Here's the thread from last year with details (and you'll also have the bonus of a sneak preview to a variety of predictable McLaren jokes). A classic example of 'if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is'.

What gets me is that with Amazon Prime I get next day delivery on most purchases the whole way down here to Derry! I will be using Amazon a lot more often, even where a product might be slightly dearer, rather than using eBay or other online shops who charge the earth for quick delivery!

Mine arrived this morning, it's pretty thin and I'm a little disappointed. It'll live in the car and may come in useful if I ever get caught in the rain, but that's about it. Oh and the sizes are small, glad I got the next one up

Williams are too terrible right now for Alonso to consider them, it's not a massive step up from McLaren. And I say that as a long time Williams fan.
Alonso's only options are McLaren and Renault. Renault will have the money, McLaren may well drop Honda and get a Merc engine, in which case they'll go back to being much better than Williams, Force India, etc.
kristoff1875
17 Mar 17#45
Good valid argument there... Alonso on the tail end of his career, Williams generally take on drivers at the beginning(Stroll, Hulkenberg, Bottas...) or end(Massa/Barrichello...) of their careers... or those who come with big sponsorship opportunities (Maldonado)...
With both Massa and Alonso's contracts ending at the end of this season, if Williams are more competitive than McLaren this season (which is likely), and most other big seats being taken... Red Bull generally promote their own drivers, Mercedes likely to be happy for the next few years with Lewis/Bottas, Ferrari would expect a huge slice of humble pie to be eaten by Fernando for him to go back there...
The next top, option for him is Williams... Although a Reunion at Renault replacing Palmer wouldn't surprise me... It's not as simple as "lol no."

I have the packaway jacket and it's incredibly thin, but does a good job of keeping my dry. The bag is delicate too and prone to ripping at the seams. Also, the carabiner is crap and has broken on the two I bought (one returned because the bag ripped as I took the jacket out).
For £10 though, it's very good.

It's an eBay thing, eBay are forcing sellers to offer free next day postage to UK and also penalising sellers who say "fast and free" if they don't actually deliver next day, the problem for eBay sellers is that couriers like parcelforce charge a hefty premium price for Northern Ireland next day delivery.

Not sure about a return to Mercedes (not impossible but perhaps improbable) but in all likelihood they will lose Alonso at the end of the season anyway. Not sure where Alonso would go (won't be Red Bull or Ferrari) so perhaps Mercedes if Bottas does not perform or a return to Renault if they show very good progress
They're last seasons kit anywhere with the t-shirt saying MP4-31, that was the 2016 car and they now use MCL in the naming of the cars

Yeah, they look OK but offer little or no protection from the wind - and anything other than the lightest sprinkle of rain will result in the wearer getting soaked. In heavy rain these even seem to get you more soaked than if you didn't wear it as the material seems to hold the moisture against your clothes.
