Some excellent prices to New York on when you book with Delta (no CC fees). Example dates 10/8 - 22/8 = £353 (£278 if you have kids under 16 as you can claim back £75 APD).
Family of 4 price (2 adults 2 kids) = £1,263.
Flights are via Paris (CDG) with good flight times. Plenty of sub-£400 fare around these dates.
No need to book with online travel agents and the risks that come with that. You book direct with Delta.
I actually booked an open jaw ticket, flying into New York and out of Los Angeles (£1,627 - 2 adults/2kids), and booked a separate o/w flight from New York to Reno, Nevada for £550 for the 4 of us
Plan is to do Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and down to San Diego, and with no o/w car rental drop off fee from Reno to Los Angeles, it saves us re-tracing our steps and doing mega-car-miles if we flew in/out of Los Angeles.
So we get flights for a 2 centre New York-California trip for around £2,200 for the 4 of us, slap bang in the middle of the school holidays!

It's a Delta ticket but for me Air France on the way out and Virgin on the return leg.
However, economy is economy.

Flew to Orlando with Delta in October, everything was great and would definitely recommend them. New York in August is way too hot to be pounding the pavements and doing tourist things though.

Hot deal, great price. Not sure if you've flown Delta before but I'd rate it as my worst transatlantic flight experience. Flew them once 3 years ago so things may have changed now.

No, direct to NYC, without flying to Paris first. We booked direct with United, although we did try through an agent on Skyscanner first which was about £15pp cheaper, then we read the reviews for the agent and they were horrendous. Ended up like the OP on the airlines actual website instead.
Sorry if you thought it was direct to LA :disappointed:

Choose the 'MULTI CITY' option.
We fly out 9 Aug to New York via Paris on Air France (A380), and back from Los Angeles to Gatwick on 22 Aug via Las Vegas on Virgin. Flights are still available when I looked this morning.
We then booked a o/w ticket to California on American Airlines. But also checkout United, Southwest etc.

Cheap flights to the US? That'll be the Trump effect.

Good price. We paid slightly more for our direct flights with United around 1 month ago for 6 of us. Delta were slightly higher for direct flights.
