I was looking at getting the harmony companion alongside Echo dot but for this price I could say no, for a more fully featured remote. I've had a Harmony 700 for absolutely years and the down button requires a really hard press to work but otherwise still flawless

I presume it would control my fire Tv which my current harmony doesn't. Heat added.
Bargain - I've ordered one after giving my older harmony to my grandparents. Guides on the screen have made it so much easier for them to switch off all devices at once and swap to their PVR etc.
One question about this product though, does anyone know if it can it send RF signals?
Edit: Two questions! Can it control a PS4?

Well I have the Elite. But I ordered this and will sell the Elite.
For me the Elite is better button layout as all below the screen. It feels better in your hand. And you can control hue and wifi sockets with dedicated buttons. I think you also get an IR extender. Can also change the button logos like add iTunes. It's not worth the extra hundred odd IMHO.
I only use Alexa or iOS app for everything, so this is just for the wife and kids.

This looks tempting but the big drawback to these devices is that they depend on remembering which devices are on or off. If one of the kids turns a device on or off with a different remote (e.g. the original one) it throws the whole setup and takes ages to undo.

Gr8 Deal, just ordered.
Can this control boxes behind cabinets?
Is it a question of just placing the hub in the cabinet with the TV receivers or is there an added IR sensor?
badgerman261 to Intenso

Yes it works via RF so all the IR is from the hub which you can place anywhere near your AV stuff.

Got one of these along with a couple of Elites. They're good but the control buttons (play/pause/stop/FF/rewind etc) are in an awkward position (right at the top of the remote above the screen). The Elite fixed this and these are now further down the remote below the screen.

It can send Bluetooth and IR signals, no RF.
It can control the PS4 but not power it on or off, a restriction Sony imposed, apparently.
Honestly, though, we found these devices would always get out of sync with the PS3/PS4/Wii U as the tendency was to turn the console off from its own menu/controller rather than use the Harmony. In the end I took the consoles out of the "activities" and we turn them on and off with the controllers now.

Actually that's wrong! It powers my ps4 off, no problem, as it has BT. However, you're right in saying that it can't turn it on. But, it works for some if your TV supports CEC. When the harmony turns on the TV and flicks to the ps4 input, that turns on the PS4.

64 is an absolute bargain for new. Even the roughest used ones make more than that on eBay now. At that price I'd have one for the bedroom TV.
I have an Ultimate in the lounge already. Many devices actually have discrete on and off remote codes that the Harmony will use by default, so that if things get out of sync, an off-on will sort it.
Some don't, so you have to be inventive. For example, I replaced the power on code for my Humax PVR with 0000 and BluRay player with Pause. This serves to wake them up from standby, but do little - and importantly not turn them off - if already on. So the Harmony off-on also gets these in sync.
McMike
19 Mar 17#60
I've had this problem myself, but usually only with devices which have a power toggle code, rather than separate power on and power off codes. the quick solution is to turn off the activity with the main power button on the remote then start up the activity again

19 Mar 17#62
Hi, I have found that a lot of problems with remotes are that a layer of "grease / oil" forms between the silicone / rubber buttons and the circuit backplate. If you are able to take the remote apart carefully then you will be able to use a bit of soapy water to wash the silicone matting with the buttons on and then wipe the circuit board with a glasses wipe, some isopropyl alcohol or pure alcohol. Sometimes there is a sheet of plastic with holes in that will need cleaning as well.
If that is the problem I guarantee the remote will feel like new when you put it back together. Youtube may even have a video for how to take it apart.
It has to be worth the effort to try something that may only take a few minutes to do.
Where does the oil / grease come from? I have no idea - personally I think that the silicone buttons "sweat" an oil with age. My worst thought is that it is grease from your fingers - *yeuch*. What I do know is I have cleaned dozens of remotes over the years and found exactly the same smelly, sticky grease in every one of them.
I hope this helps someone.

Amazon are a hard-nosed bunch these days. A far cry from the way it used to be when they were still building the business and trying to keep customers happy. Back then they'd never refuse a reasonable request - but now they seem to be taking a leaf out of the Dixons/Currys rulebook.

Massively unimpressed by mine. Don't get on with the button layout at all. Purchased primarily to control my Amazon Fire. Don't like that I have to use the IR blasters, and thought that the remote would send IR to my devices.

It may be that the Harmony is trying to change the input before the TV has fully started up. Try increasing the time delay from power on in the Myharmony app settings. My Samsung TV needed a change from 5 sec to 7.5.

I'm in the same boat. My remote will only display a white screen, so I thought I'd be able to get a replacement, but they're only offering a refund. I bought mine new for £64.36. I don't think it was a warehouse deal (how would I tell?) Given it's new I'd expect a direct replacement, and the fact that the price has gone up since shouldn't be relevant.
This doesn't seem like Amazon's usual processes.
jshoughton
29 Mar 17#105
Have you tried going through Logitech directly with the fault, every time I've dealt with them they have been really good in the past. Maybe they can replace it under warranty... never know if they don't have any more stock of the ultimate they may offer a replacement of the Elite?!

29 Mar 17#106
Talk to the Harmony support line, they are really good at tweaking settings behind the scenes in your activities that you can't access. Annoying there are hidden settings but imagine a lot of potential to mess something up by accident otherwise!
dwl99
29 Mar 17#107
The hub has built-in IR blasters so if it's sited near your devices it should work if they are IR-based. You can also go into Settings in the Myharmony app (when it isn't crashing) and set the remote to IR for whichever of your devices you want to.
phoenix72
29 Mar 17#109
I tried that - how do you actually place the delay for the TV in the settings? I know you can add a delay, but how do you refer it to the device in your activities?
simonallsopp1
29 Mar 17#110
I understand how the ir blasters work, I just don't want them. My current Harmony 525 doesn't need ir blasters, it just transmits ir via the remote, like most conventional remotes.
I like a minimalist look. The hub I can hide. The ir blasters I can't hide. Plus it's just more cabling, and more power supplies. I wasn't unhappy with my 525. I just wanted the ability to control my AFTV via a single remote.
dwl99
29 Mar 17#111
But you can set up your remote to work via IR rather than via the hub - look in the advanced settings.
jshoughton
29 Mar 17#112
You edit the delay under the device itself not the activity. In the app for example go to:
