Funnily enough a mate bought this at the weekend along with a PS4 Pro. Long story short, don't bother.
As a TV it's great, but there is bad latency with HDR turned on. Game mode works fine in 4k, but won't allow you to use HDR for some reason, they can't be used together. It's either Game mode, or HDR mode. Apparently a known issue with a few LG's which he'd not looked up until he bought it. He then saw that my Samsung works with Game mode, HDR and 4K great without issues.
Let's just say, he's a little disappointed.

Exactly what i said its 8 bit panel with FRC ,which is 8 bit not 10 bit as its not possible for a 8 bit panel with or without FRC to process 10 bit
FRC is a type of dithering to approximate the extra colors.
Basically it means you flash between two colors on opposite sides of the color you're trying to approximate. Then to the human eye it sort of blends together to the right color.
But it is still an imperfect solution. Certainly 8-bit+FRC is closer in quality to basic 8-bit than to real 10-bit color.
That said, 8-bit color alone is already pretty good, and FRC will generally improve on that a little further.
ok, I dont really know (and care) about HDR but I have a normal xbox one and used to play games from my pc and watchu
ing movies. do I need to care about input lag and no real HDR and so complaints? I have a 32" FHD LCD manufactured in 2009 and I have no problems so compared to that one I believe I won't go wrong with this?

Nice one on this, I'll let him know. He tried via the telly and it said he was up to date. I'm sure he said he'd looked on the site, but maybe he missed it.

There's a firmware update that fixes this and adds HDR Game Mode. Gets rid of the latency issue. I use it with a PS4 Pro. After the firmware update its fine! Btw the firmware needs to be downloaded from the LG website and applied from a USB drive. For some reason it doesn't come up when you run the automatic software update.
Is it worth buying the 55 inch version for £584 or is there not much difference?

They are very nice TVs. I got one a couple months ago. Only negative thing I can think of is that the viewing angle isn't brilliant, but it's acceptable.
